All the Systema haters out there need to really see it for themselves before talkin trash. like any art, you have some guys that don't train as hard as others and just want to have the T-shirt. but when you make these concepts part of your game, you will see. I have trained with Vladimir and Micheal, this guy is slick. i would love to do a seminar.
@pranav23 You think it's copied. In fact systema exist since the 4th century. It's based on Bio-Mechanic and all combat system are based on Bio-mechanic so you could easily say it looks like failed Krav Maga,Kali or any other. But those "lame ass techniques" are efficient. I suggest you try it.
Looks good except the last bit with the gun, seems kind of useless to tumble that much when scanning for a target. I don't get the whole flopping on the ground thing after 2:38, if someone can enlighten me i'd be happy. Of the two on deadliest warrior though he scares me the most because he hardly showed emotion, he sort of smiled a few times, and then it was just a creepy "i'm trying to look happy" smile lol.
@snoopay700 i think he just was showing that even when your on the ground you can still maneuver around and keep you gun pointed where your looking....
@snoopay700 If you watched the episode of the Deadliest Warrior (Green Berets vs. Spetsnaz), you might have seen how Green Beret literally sucked in close range shooting when he had to move at the same time (even though both GB and S were brilliant in shooting aesthetic targets), while Spetsnaz guy took ~5 sec longer but killed all 3 targets. I think these exercise purpose is multifunctioning (moving, shooting AND hitting the target). Plus, 'flopping around' makes you worse target for your enemy
at deadliest warrior he took the best shots from a karateblack belt that is heavier than him, n looked like he didnt feel em, and by the way he has got a total lack of facial expression, pretty much like mma's fedor emelianenko, its incredible
In the Deadliest Warrior episode with Maxim Franz, I don't think that they fully took into account how applicable Systema is in combat, both armed and unarmed. The fluidity of motion and ability to fire while constantly moving and thinking in 3 dimensions is too much of an advantage to ignore. These men fight against odds all the time, and are able to come out on top thanks to training and relaxation. Relaxation is unfortunately not taught enough, and the same could be said for breathing.
@RhythmDrummer Martial arts aren't necessarily better than one another, it's the practitioners that give you an idea of how the martial art is.
I'm pretty sure if you put up Bruce Lee against maxim in a fist fight he would have a much harder time that someone who's done tae kwon do for a year and thinks hes amazing. Anyone who masters something can use it to its fullest potential, this system of fighting is great, but doesn't take away from any other martial arts.
Finally, a style of close quarters fighting that actually works. No flying spinning kicks from across a room, and no backflips, just simple motions that conserve energy and provide maximum potential. Truely a brilliant fighting style.
It is not easy because everyone seems to want to dissprove you and not understand the learning technologies of the system but no excuss you can still do it brother.
I started my own study group.Iam up to three people now.
this is probably the MOST USEFUL martial art that you will ever learn, seriously, it is easily applicable in most, if not all situations and trust me, you don't want to mess with these guys.
Having trained with this guy at systema headquarters I can honestly say he is very good at what he does. He knows his stuff and is a pleasant with it. He actually changed my view on martial arts forever. For all the non believers out there systema is amazing and very very effective, but don't just take my word for it, join a class and see for yourself
I did it for about a year. They are good I suck. It is hard to learn but I have actually used some of the things I learned from them in Judo and the instructor asked me what do I know he said it was brutal.

@alicamarkina Flopping around makes you an easier target for the enemy and 5 seconds can be the difference between life and death.

Not necessarily, I believe he was in a "point shooting" position mainly because his "target" was so close to him.
