  • Kenny Vance is an amazing artist...he has a voice that can reach the highest pitch.

It's wonderful to be gifted, and share with the world his music.... Looking forward

to take more pictures of Kenny Vance and the Planotones...Love you, see you soon..

can't wait to hear Looking for an Echo.......

  • Arty - Kenny is formerly a back up in Jay and the Americans who went on to do his own thing. He has a great voice and did a brilliant song called Looking for a echo. Anyone who ever had a group or ever wanted to be in one knows exactly what that song is about. It's as if you wrote it with Kenny. The video is a bit off on this version so it looks a tad funky. P.S Plano is One - One Tone - that which all singers seek!!

  • what can I say we love Kenny Vance WE HAVE AT SEEN MANY SHOWS IN THE PITTSBURGH AREA WITH MANY OTHERS ON THE STAGE KENNY STANDS OUT IN ANY CROWD

  • I love Do wop music. I love Kenny Vance The Planotones. They are swave, cool, and they still have it after all of these years. They make this 62 year old woman's heart go pitty, patter! Sigh!

  • ARTY ELVIS ....WHAT A MORONIC NAME YOU HAVE......WHAT IGNORANT IDIOT NAMED YOU? GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND BE MISERABLE

  • Arty will ALWAYS be the King of rock n roll Oldies Musc!! Kenny Vance isnt even a decent amateur!! I blow him away Pooof!!! You'll Bless the Day you found and heard ME!!! Yours Truly, Arty the King!!

  • Arty elvis yuo are a jerk you wuuldnt know talent if you tripped on it.you would be better off if you kept your mouth shut then maybe people wouldnt think you are IGNORENT

  • @ArtyElvis Please stop criticizing the multi talented Kenny Vance. He is a fantastic performer and by all accounts, a wonderful man. I am very talented too but not in the field of entertainment and music. I started out wanting to be a doctor but I didn't do well in chemistry. Switched gears and had a 39 year career which I loved. My advice for what it's worth is to find somwthing you are good at and persue it. One of my greatest wishes is to be able to meet the Planotones in person

  • @ArtyElvis IF YOUR SO GOOD THEN ARENT YOU ON T.V OR SIGNED WITH MAJOR RECORD DEALS YOU MAMALUKE?

  • Arty elvis talks like a guy with a fifth grade education. These guys are ultimately so talented that they are unique.

  • I LIKE THEIR HATS

  • ArtyElvis,, Mr. Johnny Gale who plays guitar with the Planotonrs is extremely talented;not only plays but does arrangements. Keyboardists are wonderful., Friends and I saw the group at Tarrytown Music Hall and the people who put on the show couldn't have been nicer or more gracious. Kenny Vance and the Planotones are, in my opinion an American treasure.

  • ArtyElvis, Kenny Vance and the Planotones exude talent. Both Kenny and Kurt (Frenchy) have a long list of credentials and have certainly paid their dues Angel is fantastic even though he had been replaced by Jimmy Bense who is very good. I If you are as talented as you claim to be, someone would have heard about you by now. Kenny and the group are the best, and I have heard that they are really nice, are gentlemen and care about their fans.

  • hey ArtyElvis, well you've got the talkin'

    part done!

  • @artyelvis, well I'm waiting for your extra talented song. When are you going to upload something of your own to your youtube account?

  • Listen to RockLives4u our new "Simon". First like "Simon" he knows nothing about music. Kenny as a longtime member of Jay and the Americans has all the music credentials he needs and the Planetones thing came from his involment in the movies. Now secondly, the movie debut of the Planetones was so successful they became a fantastic concert experience lead by a fantastic singer who has the "feel" of doo wop tunes down exactly how they should be presented. I say great job Kenny Vance Thanks

  • Referring to the comment from jeffwins, you got that right. Kenny can sing and so can Kurt/

  • Kenny can sing!

  • Keepin' the sound A-live!!! Kenny's amazing!!! I've actually been a fan for longer than I knew, since I adore American Hot Wax and he worked on that flick. His interpt's are a big different at times, but so heart felt. And whadda voice! Oh man! It doesn't get much better than this!!!

  • Just curious,Rock Lives4u but since you are so critical can you do as well or better?

  • You are entitled to your opinion but wheen my friends and I saw Kenny and the Planotones in October, they brought down the house. They are absolutely awesome!

  • You have to go see these guys in person. My friends and I saw them in October and are still talking about how fantastic they weertre 4 months later. I have never met any of the Planotones but by all accounts they are really nice guys. wwhich is very refreshing to hear.

  • They say there are not accidents. I was visiting New Orleans years ago, and stopped in to see "Record Ron" a local luminary and album collector. We clicked instantly. Before leaving, I asked him to make a spontaneous recommendation to me......"something offbeat and COOL", I said. Without hesitation, he pressed a copy of "Teen Age Jazz" into my hands by The Planotones. I stil have not seen Kenny and crew in concert - but it is a goal. These guys are fantastic!

  • My wife and I had the pleasure to meet Kenny Vance and the Planotones last September in Pottstown, PA and I can tell you he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. We spent some time with him before the concert and after his show as he signed autographs. He could have just given me an autograph and sent me on my way, but he took the time to sit and talk with us, have pictures taken with him. Fantastic person & performer, as they all are. Oh What a Night!

  • Kenny Vance and the Planotones couldd sing anything and make it sound good. That Man is absolutely fantastic!.

  • Kenny needs to come down to Noeth and South Carolina and start singing Carolina Beach Music, the man and his group has the chops for it! awsome stuff

  • Soundimp: "In 1984, they opened for The Beatles before their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.."

I know you mean "1964", but up since Feb. and no one has noticed the error?

  • I"m just curious about something, How come Kurt (Frenchy) who has a beautiful voice doesn't do more solos in the act? He is fantastic but Kenny is still the greatest.

  • hey ciencite.. you know how he sang cada mia... my gma is frends with him and told him to sing it one night.. and evry night since then he sings it

  • My friend who went to the concert with me said that Mr. Vance had surgery recently. Is this true?

  • I saw my first Kenny Vance concert last night and he was absolutely fantastic! His rendition of "Cara Mia" was wonderful, much better than Jay Black. The Planotone walk was a riot.Who knew that Frenchy (Kurt Yaghjian) had such a beautiful voice? The musicians, especially Johnny Gale were out of this world and Mr. Vance has such an easy-going way about him. He is the total package, when it vomes to his music not to mention that he is adorable.

  • I agree with sciencite's comment. Kenny Vance is always so accomodating with his fans, and I can't imagine him ignoring anyone. If you read all the wonderful comments that his fans enter on Kenny's website about how everyone feels about him, you wouldn't believe it! This had to be a very rare case and for a good reason if it did happen the he ignored someone. I'm one of Kenny's biggest fans! He's the greatest in my book - there is nobody better!

  • treester77- i was at that concert...when it ended it was pitch black in the park and kenny had stood under this little tent for over an hour after the concert and was shaking hands and signing everything in his sight..prior to the concert he actually took a picture with me and my two daughters(ages 4 and 8) and could not have been nicer!!

  • I caan't believe it is 4:00 AM and I am watching this video for the third time.enny gets better and better each time I hear him. The comment from treester77 is the only negative one I've read. Not taking sides ,wasn"t there but maybe Kenny was tired, had to use the bathroom or wasn"t feeling well. Always three sides to a story; yours, the other guy's and the truth which is halfway between the two. I hope he is as nice as other reviewers say.

  • Granted, they are good. But he doesn't have much respect for his fans. I saw him Wednesday nite at Marine Park in Brooklyn. After the concert I tried to ask him a question about the backup group from Looking for an Echo, because I grew up with them from East Flatbush. He had no interest whatsoever and just walked away. It's your fans that make you Kenny, I think you're a snot, and you DONT live in Brooklyn anymore. Never again.

  • Soundimp...great posting. Love Kenny and wish that he would come to Texas. I was really interested in the info that you posted about his life; however, didn't the Beatles appear on Ed Sullivan's show for the first time in 1964, rather than 1984 such as your info suggests? I remember because I was a freshman in college and immediately did not like the British invasion. I just love my Doo Wop and oldies too much and the music went downhill in 1964. Thanks.

  • I saw the group @ the NJ Meadowlands last Saturday night,6/14/2008,...Doo Wop Show hosted by Mrs. Nader...Kenny and Boys were the best of all

  • These guys are all grrrrreat and can't wait till they come to Bloomfield, New Jersey .....Joy from Newark NJ

  • As a huge fan of Jay and the Americans (pre-Jay Black) I knew of Kenny as a member of the group. His accomplishments after Jay & the Americans make me view Kenny as similar to Bob Gaudio of the Four Seasons - the Power Behind the Throne. Kenny is totally plugged into what the music of the 50's and 60's was all about. The surprise to me was that he could sing as awesomely as he does on "Looking for an Echo" and "For Your Precious Love". As a lover of NY Doo Wop I hope Kenny lives to 100.

  • Kenny and the guys put on the best shows ever. Don't miss the chance to see them in person. Thanks for posting this.

  • i plan on seeing Kenny again and again

that show at Bishop Ford H.S in Brooklyn was AMAZING

  • I'm going to see him in Brooklyn NY on march 29 2008

  • Saw them on Father's Day back in 2005 at the Medowlands man that was awsome

  • Kenny is a pro.

  • I saw him 2/16/2008 he is still Great!!

  • Kenny vance looks great!
