REDOUBT UPDATE (kinda) its 2:00 a.m. ( march 27) and I live on the bluff directly across from redoubt and 2 or 3 hours ago it started rumbling, then lightning just went off everywhere ! it was so cool! and ash looks like its blowing west because its blocking the stars , it could be clouds so idk. its awesome. I got it on video but its so dark, out of 10 mins of film only 2 flashes are really seen. Il try 2 get it here on youtube. I think we might have been the first to the recent eruption ! :)

By atmosphere, I mean all 4 layers (trop, strat,mes, and therm). As a whole it's actually cooling and the surface is warming. In general, air cools as it rises and expands. And no, this is not from the 80s. It's fairly recent.
