  • Tunes.......a ginner from Moss Side who legally adopted the name of a brand of throat lozenges to kick start his career (Google him people, I'm not making this up), and briefly made a name for himself by being "a bit cool 'cos he was from Manchester", despite having no discernable talent. Awww, bless......

  • Classic tune, Mc tunes cant dance 4 shit ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh lol

  • @paynedog69 But he can rap the shit out of anything legit! ;)

  • It samples The Big Country at the beginning as the instrumental track. Also it was sampled again in 2000 for Atomic Kitten's 'I Want Your Love', not a usual dance song.

  • This is shit.

  • man this guy is out of place in madchester haha love these tunes but

  • What a classic

  • I see what he did thar.

  • I dance like that now.

Or at least I would if I could find my Global Hypercolour Hoodie.

  • Terry hate to burst your bubble m8 but i grew up with these lot and they formed in 81 and got a deal in 82/83 through running pirate radio stations in south manchester to promote thier own work ?

  • @n1ckgall1an0 81? 88 surely.

  • top choone!

  • One of my favourite tracks from my childhood, this. Absolutely loved it - still a top tune (pun intended).

Gotta say this though - me and my friends cracked that dance (during the Big Country sample), but there was one move that always flummoxed me. There's a dancer from 2:30 to 2:33, doing the 'Running Man' integrated with some kind of slick, criss-cross step over...

...I never, ever got that move down... :O(

  • @McD5791just done it infront of the mirror i think! - i'm not too keen on the mainline dancing here -piece of piss for me to copy but i'm tall & it looks ungainly even tho i'm doing it right

i use my upper body, arms & hands a lot, less tiring & i make it look effortless b/c with practice it is but i can easily switch into something like the main choreography if i've had a line & everyone's going for it, it's just that it's too 'busy' & strenuous looking to my mind plus everyone's at it

  • sfkhadosfuasfoausbdsofbadsofiubadsoifafsdajgobsaligyb.

    Bleh.

    Freaking horrible.

Then again, I always thought poetry belonged in books, not tainted by music.

  • I remembere this playin at the gyppo fair i took a girl to an she spewed all over me on the waltzers haha memories eh

  • Still fresh!

  • He's a bit like a cool Vanilla Ice.

  • Funny how quality tunes stand the test of time, all comments on here are really positive (apart from the minging breath comment)

  • T for Terminator, U for Undertaker, N for Annihilator (?!), E for Educator, S for Sadistic.. NOW WHAT DOYA THINK OF IT?!

CLASSIC! MC Tunes is my hero!

  • omg, this is horrible. thank god i was too young to remember this happening

  • probably the best sample ever?

  • Still loving this track after 20 years. 1:21 Thats Techno right there!

  • Anybody know the name of the classical piece that is sampled here? Elmer Bernstein?

  • @norwich19661

It's the theme from the 1958 western "The Big Country" and it's by Jerome Moross.

  • (Posted by Youtube Stream for iPhone (yst.me) on behalf of Type_Gray at twitter)

  • Wooow blast from the past, loved this tune

  • Sunglasses in an iron refining plant :D

  • The dancing is similar to Line dancing with colour coded jumpsuits... kinda kid n play ripoff..

  • "i pack jams like a party in a tin can" epic lyric every damn time!

  • GENIUUUS

  • Fankyew veree much for this posting mr fuckwitt sir

  • phat tune not heared it for time XD

  • of it's time,but yer can't beat that rap...great!

  • Cos I’m a Mancunian house jammer

Rough and ready, but look good for the camera

  • Brrrrrrrr on the mic!

  • good game good game, alright my love.

  • 808 BWOYZ.....NIIIIICE 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • madchester acid house at its finest!!!

  • @andrewt008 not true....

  • @inkybinky well explain then?!

  • @andrewt008 an educated opinion thats all sir.

  • Step up while I attack the mike

Demon rhymes like a script from fright night

wrote like a poem designed like a sculpture

carved from steel cos strength is my culture

slip in my clip, automatic fully loaded

lyrics like lead and beats my component

Put together like a ten foot sledgehammer

rrrock the 24-track like an earth tremor

  • I may suck but this song is dead cheesy. I used to be a huge 808 state fan but this does not hold up today. It's very dated sounding. The beats are great but I can't stomach that style of rapping.

  • @shihonageomote nicky was fuckin sick back then ! he was only 19 at the time to !

  • this sucks.

  • @shihonageomote you suck

  • Which album is this song from?

  • Ever heard an American trying to do an English accent? This guy doesn't hold a candle to that bullshit.

  • its so lame when english people try to sing in an american accent

  • I would never have thought the tune from the film The Big Country could work - fair play!!

  • i use to jam to this>>>>>dam im old now

  • Wiggers to a man....but still a decent tune

  • 2:11 :D

  • love that synchronized dancing :D

  • he fuckin killed it man....

  • great great great great

  • unfortunatly one of 808 state was shot dead in wolverhampton around 2004 remember this tune was good check out the haircuts lol

  • the only rhyme that BITES.....SSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Man, I remember hearing this back in the day and was like, "damn, this kid is the white Rakim!"

    Whatever happened to that guy?

  • remember when...lying on the floor with my fat head phones back in the daze!

  • fuck me sideways.....this is 20 years old!!!!!

  • Man, Vanilla Ice is alot cooler then I remember him being.

  • We took E in the 90s so we wouldnt dance like they do in this vid !

  • @darkmarkfourfour thats funny... these guys have created some of the best beats and a great foundation for this type of music and i swear more than half of all newer artists aren't very creative and end up stealing great beats from the ppl who were talented and came up with the stuff back in the 80's and early 90's

  • there Radio show on Sunset was like a ravers bible !

Graham Massey lives round the corner from me and is still doing some nice work

  • They also took E in the late 80's so were already dancing like that as a result.

  • SSSSSIIIIICCCCCKKK TUNE!!!

  • Makes the KLF look like kids!

  • .... and their from Manchester go figure!

  • ha ha great comment inkybinky! this is 1 ov my fave madchester anthems & i saw 808 state at the g-mex.

  • F'king el. no wonder everyone had to take E in those days to keep up wiv that kinda dance and no wonder everyone needing several litres of water

  • I am not on "rap" or whatever is it. But you got love this track!!!

Anyway id like to see a "more" acid house version of it, or more 808, now what i mean...

  • the sample tune you can on this track is from the Western The Big Country, The Big Country theme was later sampled by Atomic Kitten in 2000 I want your Love

  • mancheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeester canta of the universe

  • brought this in 89'

  • Bought

  • HACIENDA

  • I met MC Tunes many times. his breath is always minging

  • @inkybinky pmsl.

  • @Bleumange PMSL ? Nicky Badbreath the only tune that bites if your sense of smell once encountered with your breath

  • @inkybinky I found it excessively hilarious straight after watching this, whether i shall ever encounter his breath or not D:

  • @inkybinky He used to live in Whalley range and hang out of his window pervin on me when i was about 13 :(( happy to say never allowed him close enuf to catch a whiff!! :))

  • @inkybinky PMSL!

  • My boyfriend said if i don't teach his band TopGun this dance then he's gonna end it with me.

  • Damn yeah, he should, ;-)

  • U should end it with him for having a band called "topgun"

  • @andycats haaahahahahaha

  • This is the way hiphop SHOULD sound! The way it did 19 years ago in Manchester! This white boy can flow like a true trooper! UK Style!

  • Love the Western sample, ahh the good old days :D

  • One of the main samples they used for this song is from "The Big Country" (movie soundtrack) by Jerome Moross

  • Proper early 90s dancing in this vid :-)

  • Love the dancing, i wonder how long it took to get it time? Absolutely spot on timing!

  • Mancunian Legend god blee you Nik

  • tttooooooooone wtf's happened to music today ??!!!

  • Good question mate! This is the way it should sound today! Fast, furious and fantastic! Fuck all the boring slow jam yank rap crap!

  • Anyone know what the instumental of this is called??? Or if it's on any of the releases???

  • Its done by 808 state and I've heard it played in awards ceremonies.

  • Cool thanks mate

  • the orchestral bits are from the theme to "The Big Country" - old Western

  • Wot great Manchester music, style, attitude, passion, individual, great work. Good times

  • u took the words out of my mouth, they were cracking times, great parties, shame they had to end

  • Like all things ma8, they have to end. Glad they did end really, I'm 38 and I'd look a bit of a tit walking about in loon flares, a flowery top and a pair of lilac kickers! Sorted.

  • I disagee. I'm 31, but loved my youth, Fiesta mark 1's, Escort RS Turbo's. Nike Air Max, Adidas Tracksuits, People walking around with Hitachi Stereos, gelled back hair, mate, it beats FACEBOOK and ITUNES anyday!!!!!!!!

  • MC tunes the first white rapper.Legend!!!

    Wonder where he is now?

  • this was an early 1990 tune rite??..March or April i guess of 1990 i guess?..so yeah literally speaking he was the first white rapper, becoz Vanilla Ice became famous in the fall of 1990,around October or November i guess.hehe.

  • Actually, if we're getting technical, Everlast's first album was released in March of 1990, so that might pre-date this.

3rd Bass definitely came first, with their first album released in 1989.

And let's not forget that the Beastie boys released License to Ill in '86.

The Insane Clown Posse have been around since '89.

There are others too, but my word count is running out on this thing...

  • this song is good how can he go tht fast tho i cant do tht
