Bought this when it first came out.I remember the vinyl sleeve had lyrics for the song written in a spirl shape, tryin to spin it round to try and sing along..LOL
Tunes.......a ginner from Moss Side who legally adopted the name of a brand of throat lozenges to kick start his career (Google him people, I'm not making this up), and briefly made a name for himself by being "a bit cool 'cos he was from Manchester", despite having no discernable talent. Awww, bless......
It samples The Big Country at the beginning as the instrumental track. Also it was sampled again in 2000 for Atomic Kitten's 'I Want Your Love', not a usual dance song.
1st of March is Justin Bieber's birthday. This little fag has been infecting the whole world. Because of him, the world of techno is extincting
So on his birthday, we all will go to his "Baby" official video and push the 'dislike' button so that the 'dislike' bar becomes 10 times bigger than the 'like' bar
If you are a techno fan, join with me and thumbs up me, copy-paste this message to all videos. We have 1 month to unite and fight against this bullshit
Terry hate to burst your bubble m8 but i grew up with these lot and they formed in 81 and got a deal in 82/83 through running pirate radio stations in south manchester to promote thier own work ?
One of my favourite tracks from my childhood, this. Absolutely loved it - still a top tune (pun intended).
Gotta say this though - me and my friends cracked that dance (during the Big Country sample), but there was one move that always flummoxed me. There's a dancer from 2:30 to 2:33, doing the 'Running Man' integrated with some kind of slick, criss-cross step over...
@McD5791just done it infront of the mirror i think! - i'm not too keen on the mainline dancing here -piece of piss for me to copy but i'm tall & it looks ungainly even tho i'm doing it right
i use my upper body, arms & hands a lot, less tiring & i make it look effortless b/c with practice it is but i can easily switch into something like the main choreography if i've had a line & everyone's going for it, it's just that it's too 'busy' & strenuous looking to my mind plus everyone's at it
I may suck but this song is dead cheesy. I used to be a huge 808 state fan but this does not hold up today. It's very dated sounding. The beats are great but I can't stomach that style of rapping.
@darkmarkfourfour thats funny... these guys have created some of the best beats and a great foundation for this type of music and i swear more than half of all newer artists aren't very creative and end up stealing great beats from the ppl who were talented and came up with the stuff back in the 80's and early 90's
the sample tune you can on this track is from the Western The Big Country, The Big Country theme was later sampled by Atomic Kitten in 2000 I want your Love
@inkybinky He used to live in Whalley range and hang out of his window pervin on me when i was about 13 :(( happy to say never allowed him close enuf to catch a whiff!! :))
Like all things ma8, they have to end. Glad they did end really, I'm 38 and I'd look a bit of a tit walking about in loon flares, a flowery top and a pair of lilac kickers! Sorted.
I disagee. I'm 31, but loved my youth, Fiesta mark 1's, Escort RS Turbo's. Nike Air Max, Adidas Tracksuits, People walking around with Hitachi Stereos, gelled back hair, mate, it beats FACEBOOK and ITUNES anyday!!!!!!!!

Actually, if we're getting technical, Everlast's first album was released in March of 1990, so that might pre-date this.
3rd Bass definitely came first, with their first album released in 1989.
And let's not forget that the Beastie boys released License to Ill in '86.
The Insane Clown Posse have been around since '89.
There are others too, but my word count is running out on this thing...
