I think this is a happy ending. Sure Kiwi died but he got to live his dream and he did all he could to fulfill it. It's sad that he died but he really wanted to get the feeling of flying. This is a very cute animation. :)

@MelancholySkies The used the rope to get the trees to the level he wanted. the nails were to nail the tree's to the "ground". So he would get a feeling of flying when he jumped of the cliff.

the kiwi wanted to fly.. so he nailed a bunch of trees on the side of a cliff and jumped off the cliff.. if falling thru the trees gave the image of flying.. he cried becuz he knew he was to die when he reached the ground.
