Both Megatron and Galvatron are in the game and meet each other, teaming up against the autobots. They consider each other 'brothers' but not the same person. Have to admit, after Unicron reconstructed Megs into Galvatron he was an entirely new personality.

I beat the game and it was kinda hard in some parts, graphics were awesome, but they could have done better with the attacks and movements, but all in all a fun game to play once you figure it out.

The in-game graphics were really cool. It could have been better later down in the PS2's life, but with the G1 Transformers...it looks just fine. The gameplay is close to the Samurai Warriors series but lacks a proper gameplay design (though what is offered is reminiscent of the cartoon).

The major flaw is the voice-acting. Also, the movement controls are the only bother to the spectacular special moves. The melee moves look silly and I think that is what draws people away. BTW, RotF game sucks.

You're talking shit, the game was never released for any other ps2 system apart from the Japanese PS2, and it was never released outside of Japan.

Correct. Transformers Tataki was never released anywhere outside of Japan, and is the only PS2 Transformers game, released by Takara, featuring an original G1/G2 setup.

A loyal tribute to the original from Takara (not Tataki)the game company and the original TF toyline company itself, I have had the honor of playing this game and it well deserves 4stars, they made an exceptionally good effort on the dub and I will admit that the controller configuration is difficult but you will soon get over that

No, this game does not deserve stars. Not because it's transformers, and not because you're a fan. I'm a big fan too, but there are standards, and every game, every film, every television show, every piece of software - everything, has standards. As a game, Tataki (call of the future) is C+ at best. They made an effort on some parts, which was great, but just the same, failed horrible at many others. Can't reward only what we like.

You should check out Transformers: War for Cybertron. It's a legitimate prequel to the G1 cartoon series and is out for the 360 and PS3 this coming Tuesday. Pre-ordered it at gamestop to get the Shockwave character added to the roster.

Japan, or online stores. And it sucks, by the way. Poor controls, game design, and horrid gameplay structure leave you wanting only to see the cutscenes. I will put all of them up eventually, so people can see the entire game story, without any of the inane gameplay.

(1) this (in)game doesn't have the great graphics as the Armada game -looks like a late PS1 game- but gameplay wise there was more to do, you fight real Autobots and Decepticon (no drones) you can play as G1 Autobots or Decepticons (not the giants like Trypticon i think well i never did), the arena's are a little small so Starscream has nowhere to fly to (but you can fire)

(2) also there is a looooong story sometimes the cut scenes are endless but the story is more fun than the gameplay anyway, voice acting is good, to bad the JP shows before RID din't have voices like this not G1 or BW great just good,oh yeah Megatron useless as a gun? nope he moves around (alone) and fires powerfull blasts you can hit more than one Autobot.

(3) not one of the greatest games ever made but to date this is the best Tranformers game so far (yes better than the bayformer$ game witch is better than the movie oh well) oh right the G1 tf sound is there to! (but just one version) and the story? the game starts after season 2 i guess (Motormaster is in there) so its set between 1986-2004 the tfs go to another world to find something powerfull. at some point Galvatron and Rodimus Prime come from the future to change history

(4) they are from a future that has been destroyed by a superpowerfull Shockwave (so they do not come from season 3 or Headmasters) Shockwave got the powerfull thing thats on this planet in the future he feels that Galvatron is a poor leader and attacks him, Galvatron (off cource) what this thing for himself he even tricks Megatron Rodimus -with Optimus- want to destroy it. the story is good but a little corny at times like how is Starscream ''young and green''? one bad thing about this game

londonontguy they meet up in the comics aswell, becuase unicron changed them he also changed the spark aswell and personality of him so even though it is the same body its not the same spark YET the memory banks of megatron are still inside him. The uk comis when the did the time wars galvatron and megatron meet there aswell.

The story changes when u play it again, in one level u go up against 5 clone Optimus Primes created by Megatron. Even though it has its minor faults u can level up and Prime has his trailer which fires weapons as a special attack aswell as the cool energon axe. There are loads of characters to unlock but to be honest its best just playing as Prime. Its a great game.

I have the DVDrip version of this game, and it only works up to 4th or the 5th stage. Was there any Cybertron or Unicron stages ??

The last stage was in another Energy Plant on the same planet, but it was uber. It was Prime and Rodimus vs Megatron and Galvatron in this electric cage match. Tough freakin' fight (first time), and I barely won. I was Prime and Megatron was still standing. Galv' and Rod' were down, and Megs and i had slivers of life left. I managed to knock him down, and pick him up.. then walked to the edge of the cage (electric wall) and hurled him at it.

It's not in the US because of the movie. Once the movie was greenlit, that threw a wrench into things. That, and also, it's a bad game. Seriously. It's incredibly difficult, even on easy. It's lacking serious control features (no strafe, no lock on, camera angle isn't the best as you get in the way of the enemy- cant see what he is doing all the time). It also was very linear, and the maps were very small. Transforming served very little purpose, and even transforming was a 'limited' thing. ;(

Could someone give me a logical sensical explanation as to why this game isn't available in the US? It's in english? Every freakin' TF/Star Wars/Trekie would buy it, not to mention non-fans! WTF is wrong w/ Sony and Takara??? This is the game we all want! When the movie comes out the game will stink since it'll be based on the characters in the film, not any comic or G1 based ideas.

That intro is awesome, there's more scene's in it than the one I saw a couple of years ago, like the Chromedome and Weird Wolf in the Cybertron/Destron Transformation scene's.

And also in the ifhgt scene's, and the Fight between Rodimus and Galvatron is also longer.

Dude it isnt, by standards we got the better game im sorry to say, this game had level problems being foggy and endless with always beat the bad guy missions, then sizing problems with bumblbee the size of prime and not much veriety of bad guys in missions i saw a pic of optimus being tag teamed by 3 motor masters, but it did have like 20 some odd characters you could pic from both factions
