  • I think its because you need to cool the bismuth in a relatively quick period of time, like lifting some from the solution into the air, like on a seed crystal, i think???

  • @AIWAC they only crystalize if you shake away the liquid when they are getting hard. Although you only get the nice expensive crystals by geving the iron some preasure while cooling out.

    Bismuth when liquified is such a beautiful metal, he spreads the light in sort of a metallic rainbow way.

  • @Draxis32 The technical term for the rainbow effect is called iridescence. And yes, it is quite beautiful :)
