  • ha ha ha that was great ! thanks !

  • 4:26 LOOOL

  • I loved fried calamari until i watched this video

  • Ah ! You remove the membrane ! I never knew how to clean squid properly...

  • Thank U soo muchh Titli, U replied all my questions very colly. I like you very much. U make cooking a fun thing. U have very good sense of humor. Keep it up and may Allah bless you.

  • And u consider squid,octopus are halal?

  • @THEICEMANFUL I am not a scholar, but based upon all I have read and considering the arguments for and against, I personally believe squid to be halal. Otherwise I wouldn't eat it. But Allah knows best.

  • @TitliNihaan been eating squid for life. am a muslim too! how come it's not halal ... all of us in my country eat squid, crab, fish. we eat clean food . we eat almost everything except pork , and so on..

thank for posting this vid love it!!

  • @pudinamint The Hanafis have a strict definition of "a fish", so Hanafis don't eat squid, prawns, scallops, etc.

  • @TitliNihaan i actually do eat fish squid prawns and scallops but no lobster

  • hey! today I'm gonna make this again! love you titli

  • @THEICEMANFUL according to islam all fish r halal

  • ok. as star fish, octopus etc are also sea creatures,so are they halal too? i want to know ur view and opinion.thanks

  • @THEICEMANFUL The shafii, maliki and hanbali schools consider most sea-creatures to be halal, however the hanafi school is much more restrictive on what is considered to be a "fish". For those who follow the hanafi school a squid, prawn, octopus, etc would not be considered halal. Allah knows best.

  • Assalam o alakum. Titli i like the way and style of cooking. I want to know is squid is HALAL? And is it belong to fish family?

  • @THEICEMANFUL It depends on which school of thought you follow. As it lives in the sea most schools would say it is halal, while others would say it is not.

  • I love this English woman , she made me laugh - good job

  • love your video....

1 question, if u dont have the paprika powder or the oregano, what can u use to subtitue it???

    thx

  • @indo83gmail Maybe a herb like thyme or sage, or some cayenne pepper... or just leave them out altogether!

  • @indo83gmail thx, i've tried your recipe last nite, the taste is still plain. since oregano is not common here in Indonesia, so i didnt use it, i just use the salt and black pepper.

thx for the video, and i hope i can re-create your delicious recipe.

best regards from Jakarta - Indonesia

  • I absolutely LOVE you! You are so funny. You are such a breath of fresh air! I was happily entertained and I even learned something! I wish you were my neighbour! I also wish I could cook! And had a clean kitchen.

  • @wheresmylife The "plastic" bit is cartilage and gives the squid it's shape in the water

  • @wheresmylife The good news is that you may be able to buy ready-prepared squid rings removing the need for all that unpleasantness :-)

  • excellent videooo

  • Titli, you're on crack. And I mean that in the best way.

  • @v0zbox favorite.comment.ever!

I love squid.. Thank u for sharing your recipe ...

  • Is it a chewy sort of meat? Looks very delicious after the process of cooking it is done lol.

  • some things should just be left in the sea

  • We're any John's Hurt in making this video? Love calamary kalamaty cruelmommy ... squid. Plus this meal is very economical, only costs one squid to make. Never tried gutting one before and thought the transparent bits were something that supermarkets put in to keep the tentacools tenleggedfools tendingtodrools ... legs in shape. Duh! 8-P Sigourney asked for many "Aileens" for each of her films - they gave her several million squid for each one. They arrived on 8 coaches - an "Octobus" B->

  • loooks like the wifes pleasure bits, after ten pints!

  • I love Calamari!!! LOL love Titli!!! salaam and Eid Mubarak from California, US!

  • I love Calamari!!!

  • Whoa! you've been in the mood for italian food lately! :)

I'm glad that ready-made squid rings are available here in Italy... you've been so "brave" to clean the squid yourself, if I were you I would EWWW and run away instead :D LOL

They best come alone as a special treat at many restaurants, but the rare times I cook it myself at home I love to add them to green salad seasoned with some lemon juice. wonderful

  • Delicious, I suggest you prawns and sliced courgettes and aubergines in the fish-fry (I live in a little italian sea town, we cook it this way and it is awesome!)

  • The tentacles are my favorite! My mom & I call them the "squigglies", and we fight over them whenever we have calamari :)

I like your coating method - looks like it would work for a variety of fried foods.

  • Please show some british food, like the Sunday Roast and The English Breakfast?

  • @tinghaling ...or a Sticky Toffee Pudding?

  • @TitliNihaan YES PLEASE!

  • I would never have thought anything could make me want to try cooking calamari at home. Proving me wrong as always Titli!

  • OOoh I love squid.

  • That was FUN! Mind you, I did go from squirming in my seat to getting extremely tempted to make it!

Love you Titli! You're the BEST!

  • thanks titli.that was fun...

  • CTHULHU FHTAGN!

  • @lambrioza I learn something new every day :-)

  • wow so much work!!

  • you're so funny....EID MUBARAK:)

  • C'est Agnès qu'il fallait l'appeler.Je me suis reconnue!Dis Titli tu veux pas m'adopter?

  • looks very delicious :)

  • Why no pork recipes, or alcohol, if you can make seafood like squid? I thought fish had to have fins and scales to be halal?

  • @UnOxonien It all depends on your school of thought about seafood. Pork and alcohol are expressly forbidden in the Qur'an (along with a few other foods), but there is some debate about what a muslim can eat from the sea. I understand that Shia muslims in particular consider squid and prawns forbidden. And then there is the case of tuna - a scaleless fish!

    Allah knows best

  • @TitliNihaan Perhaps it is of note that the most relaxed rules about seafood come from Far Eastern schools of Muslim thought - a prohibition of seafood in Indonesia might be somewhat of a problem diet-wise. There must be a practical aspect to one's choice of adherence, I would submit.

I enjoy your recipes and your unique presentation style. :)

  • @UnOxonien Although all muslims share a common religion we don't all share the same interpretations of the Qur'an where ambiguity is felt to exist, nor do we all agree on the various Hadith (the ascribed words of the prophet Mohammed). For a relative newbie like me it's an absolute minefield!

  • @UnOxonien it's seafood haram? I didn't know!

  • @DDRmaedchen Some (but not most) Muslims consider seafood haram.

  • soooooooooooo delicious but i would never be able to prepare the squid myself!

  • @ni00ni preparing squid is actually a lot less messy and difficult than it looks, as long as you rinse it under the tap.

  • @cmxcmx Yeah - It's not difficult, just messy!

  • you do make me laugh and your cookings not bad as well.

  • Yikes!

Hilarious as usual. I'd give the end product a go, but there's no way I'm dissecting one of them things!

  • omg that really was disgusting...but the end result looked delicious and you are insanely hilarious!

  • :-)

  • thanks for the nice video!!! i had great time while watching it))))) im waiting for more ;)

  • Wow.

  • Fried calamari is also tasty when dipped in marinara sauce.
