Thank U soo muchh Titli, U replied all my questions very colly. I like you very much. U make cooking a fun thing. U have very good sense of humor. Keep it up and may Allah bless you.
@THEICEMANFUL I am not a scholar, but based upon all I have read and considering the arguments for and against, I personally believe squid to be halal. Otherwise I wouldn't eat it. But Allah knows best.
@TitliNihaan been eating squid for life. am a muslim too! how come it's not halal ... all of us in my country eat squid, crab, fish. we eat clean food . we eat almost everything except pork , and so on..
@THEICEMANFUL The shafii, maliki and hanbali schools consider most sea-creatures to be halal, however the hanafi school is much more restrictive on what is considered to be a "fish". For those who follow the hanafi school a squid, prawn, octopus, etc would not be considered halal. Allah knows best.
@THEICEMANFUL It depends on which school of thought you follow. As it lives in the sea most schools would say it is halal, while others would say it is not.
@indo83gmail thx, i've tried your recipe last nite, the taste is still plain. since oregano is not common here in Indonesia, so i didnt use it, i just use the salt and black pepper.
thx for the video, and i hope i can re-create your delicious recipe.
I just discovered your videos today, and I LOVE watching them. You have a delightful amount of humor along with beautiful recipes. I absolutely adore watching you cook and your channel
@SuperFamily28 That's not true. You want to know my real name, not everyone. Those who know, know. THose who don't know, don't know because they don't need to know.
@TitliNihaan from WE I meant my family that includes atleast 9 people :) I dont know whats the harm in revealing your real name?? w r just curious coz we love your positive personality ...
@sayuridp i can get a whole squid from my local fishmongers. If you don't have a fishmonger near you, try a supermarket. My local Morrisons sells whole squid
Classic :D I met Titli tonight and we went a seafood restaurant in Spain and she explained how to take apart a fresh squid with a live specimen :) amazing woman! Thanks for a great night Titli! :)
I absolutely LOVE you! You are so funny. You are such a breath of fresh air! I was happily entertained and I even learned something! I wish you were my neighbour! I also wish I could cook! And had a clean kitchen.
We're any John's Hurt in making this video? Love calamary kalamaty cruelmommy ... squid. Plus this meal is very economical, only costs one squid to make. Never tried gutting one before and thought the transparent bits were something that supermarkets put in to keep the tentacools tenleggedfools tendingtodrools ... legs in shape. Duh! 8-P Sigourney asked for many "Aileens" for each of her films - they gave her several million squid for each one. They arrived on 8 coaches - an "Octobus" B->
hey titli could you please pleaseeeeeeeeeeee do a chinese stirfry a nice spicy meaty one pleaseee i really want one but i want you to make it and then i wanna make it cos then i no it will be larrvly please :D oh and i love you!!
Whoa! you've been in the mood for italian food lately! :)
I'm glad that ready-made squid rings are available here in Italy... you've been so "brave" to clean the squid yourself, if I were you I would EWWW and run away instead :D LOL
They best come alone as a special treat at many restaurants, but the rare times I cook it myself at home I love to add them to green salad seasoned with some lemon juice. wonderful
Delicious, I suggest you prawns and sliced courgettes and aubergines in the fish-fry (I live in a little italian sea town, we cook it this way and it is awesome!)

Why no pork recipes, or alcohol, if you can make seafood like squid? I thought fish had to have fins and scales to be halal?
UnOxonien 1 year ago
@UnOxonien It all depends on your school of thought about seafood. Pork and alcohol are expressly forbidden in the Qur'an (along with a few other foods), but there is some debate about what a muslim can eat from the sea. I understand that Shia muslims in particular consider squid and prawns forbidden. And then there is the case of tuna - a scaleless fish!
Allah knows best
TitliNihaan 1 year ago 11
@TitliNihaan Perhaps it is of note that the most relaxed rules about seafood come from Far Eastern schools of Muslim thought - a prohibition of seafood in Indonesia might be somewhat of a problem diet-wise. There must be a practical aspect to one's choice of adherence, I would submit.
I enjoy your recipes and your unique presentation style. :)
