Hi Guys, They sound just as fresh now as they were in the 1960s. Certainly, one of the most enthusiastic and happiest groups. How could you not love this?
They were so popular in NZ, little wonder. Thanks for so many memories.
This song is awesome. It was fresh enough to be played in the clubs in the 1970s(!), and it is timeless, just like the group. R.I.P. Dave Dee, and your music lives on. Thank you for posting this gem that is still danceable and fun 45 years later!! Stateside especially, this like a new record. Happy New Year! DAVEDJ
I used to love the singles DDDBM&T released. They were a great British pop band and a fun band too, just like the Tremelos. RIP Dave Dee, you'll be sadly missed.
Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.
Is it just me or does this song have modern kick ass bass line to it? Seriously, you could loop the first 5 seconds of this song, and it would make a nice house track :D
Nah, but they had elements to their sound that prefigured glam rock in the early '70s. That big stomping sound occasionally. And on the back of the American version of their "Time To Take Off" album it reads, "With a name that sounds like they could belong to the Seven Dwarfs." Lol.
My gosh...here the only thing I've known from these guys is "Hold Tight" and the entire "Time To Take Off" album from 1968. I've never got around to hearing this one. It's so ahead of it's time! 1966?! Are you kidding me? I heard that dance beat come in and I thought it might be an "updated" version with the old video! But no, it's the original. Wow.
Saw these play live 4 weeks ago... and although they will never be the same without Dave Dee, they were still fantastic and sounded just as good as they did in the 60's.
What a great song to dance to and what a fun video!
I hope there wasn't a staircase in the hall at approx. 2:31?LOOOOL!! Then yes, right after that in the video, the drum you hear, the sound in the hall would have sounded similar while this poor guy is fallin' down....hahaha....But what a joy to see a band have so much fun everytime!
@eartant Indeed, and such accomplished musicians they were too.Apart maybe for some violins, there wasn't a session man in sight for this bunch. Although at the time this was too square for me, I began to recognise about in the 8T's how brilliant they were.
Good Bend! Like))

I had forgotten all about these guys until watching a Quentin Tarantino flick the other night, in which they played "Hold Tight."
