there are two matches in the first place, then the winner of these matches play each other (winners game flash vs hero) and the winner of this game is in the MSL (flash), then the loosers of the first games play each other (daezang vs anytime) and the winner of this game (daezang) gets to play the looser of the winners game (hero) and the one who wins there advances too

Doesn't delaying weapons 1 also really hurt your speedlot attack when the zerg has ling defence, even if it is slightly faster?

Oh yes. His speedlot attack was crippled by needing to take 3 shots against zerglings instead of 2. Imo, +1 slowlots would have had a better chance. Maybe not.
