There is a reason it sounds so wierd.

This is basically a mono file. Since the vocals are focused in the middle, what you can do is combine the channels and flip the phase one one. This essentially cancels out the vocals and leaves all the "side" (a.k.a stuff not in a direct middle panning) info still there. The end effect is a lower quality signal along with a mono file. It cannot be considered a true instrumental though because it eliminates any instruments in the middle. Try again.

haha thats exactly what i used to do this lol. you just use the vocal remover tool, looks like lips with the circle and line. there was a lit more to it than that though. look at the vid posted on my acount to see the rest of how i made it

the program i used to make it is called gold wave. i used that along with a few equalizer fixes to make it sounds a little more like a natural guitar after i ran it through the vocal remover
