  • how do i go back ton windows 7?

  • or you could just stay with windows 7...

  • why would anyone want to use this pos, its 80s old fashioned crap

i released a fix for this on day one, the rest are just copies ;)

most ppl I've talked to are sticking with 7

  • thank you very much )

  • As much as i hate Apple, what I have seen of Windows 8 so far is making me take a second look at Macs... Or perhaps a Linux distro would be better... I hope the final version of Win8 will detect if you have a touchscreen or not and give you the classic start menu if a touchscreen is not detected or give you a simple option to change it without having to do a registry hack to enable it.

  • @TheJoshua8598 What they really should do is to release a Desktop and a Tablet version of Windows 8... I can't imagine large workstation using this flower-power garbage aka Metro UI..

  • good video!

  • Is there any way to disable the windows key for this, I really heavily use the windows key for things like PTT on VOIP aps.

  • how can i toggle between the two by using the windows key??? when i push windows key its opening menu but not going to Metro IU

  • thanks man; needed that!!

  • Thanks A BUNCH!!! Now i WILL get Windows 8 knowing i can change this!!!

  • Finally i can go sleeping without being afraid of the fact that MS did the biggest mistake ever...

  • hey can i get both..???

  • thanks

  • fuck i want windows 7 back!!!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • @Burtrola Yes I am a developer. and what was misleading? Go troll somewhere else

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom I'll say it again "This is Windows 8 Developer Preview" not "Windows 8". Nothing "Trolling" about that. You come across as a pretty decent guy in your video, but your comments and responses to people's comments say otherwise. You have real issues.

  • Your voice sounds like a floppy drive! :-)

    Say AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A A A A AAAAA

  • So many people hating because of the dev preview, it's for developers, developers only care about the new features, if they want to build an application that uses the old feature they'll test it in windows 7. I am 99% sure the final version will have a control panel option to enable the regular UI.

  • nice

  • MS has changed the registry.

  • What's the point? The retail version wont have Metro UI. Metro UI is only in windows 8 dev for testing purposes

  • @Danmansonman Yes it will...

  • why its clock, days and date not dissappear????

  • Linux Mint forever.

  • I Just organized my icons. Why don't you?

  • @2012Iwillsurvive my icons are organized.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom Oh I see your problem then. Thanks for the help enabling the start menu.

  • @2012Iwillsurvive You have too much time lazy BOY.

  • @MrRadpolon That does not make sense.

  • Those icons were not made for tiles they were made for icons

  • Also, plist's are hardly "like" the Windows registry.

  • @jarredsutherland Really? are they not config files what you modify to change the behavior of the OS?

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom Flat files vs hierarchical database? Not quite the same thing. They may do the same thing, but the implementation is quite a bit different. I take flat files any day over the awful windows registry.

  • @jarredsutherland Flat files means they are slow, easy to manipulate without your consent and don't track changes for undo.

  • I think people might respect you more if you weren't so pompous in your comments. Calling people idiots and your high and mighty attitude don't win anyone over to your side.

That "I can access all the files on your mac in under 30 minutes no passwords or logins" thing just sounds hilarious, like I should wait to see you in the next hackers movie.

No one cares who you are on here, people just want to comment and troll on YouTube.

  • @jarredsutherland Insert install Disc. Own System. There now you know how to hack a Mac.

They can troll if they want, I'll troll back. That doesn't change whether I will call an idiot an idiot.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom And there are several easy ways to reset the PW hash for windows systems to allow you in through the front door. Now in the event you encrypted your data, well duh, that's obviously not going to work. In that case I would just use FDE in TrueCrypt and resolve that issue pretty easily.

  • @jarredsutherland FDE in TrueCrypt on my mac, that is. Then your trick of booting off the installation DVD doesn't quite work anymore.

  • @jarredsutherland That method doesn't work on computers attached to a ADS network (like in a work place).

TrueCrypt is not part of the OS. So it isn't on 99.9% of machines.

Secure by design. Bit Locker and Drive encryption are part of windows.

And yes I have a master reset for TrueCrypt as well.

  • @jarredsutherland Go play with the script kiddies and troll somewhere else. Or maybe Google my Background. My first experience with computer security was when the CIA showed up at my 3rd grade class to ask how to de-crypt a hard disk that used my encryption software.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom Wow, you have an ego bigger than anyone I have ever spoken with. I have no desire to stoke your ego more by using Google to search your name, I know enough about you (pompous) just by reading your posts on here. Keep posting though, reading these replies is pretty hilarious.

  • @jarredsutherland What ever apple boy. It's not pompous if you can back up your claim. Go be a poser in a kiddie forum

  • @jarredsutherland

lol, you truly are a dumbass.

  • I hate that the stupid clock is in the way all the time...

  • What's the point of installing win 8 then reverting the start menu?? It's no longer win8????

  • @2296jamdown Windows 8 final will have a start menu. The Dev-preview is the touch interface, since it was meant for tablets only.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom No, it will not have a start menu..

  • @n1tr0dr2 You are wrong. But thanks for playing.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom No, Im not. Beta testers confirmed. Btw, wait and see :)

  • @n1tr0dr2 I know FAR more about what happens at MSFT than "beta testers" But again thanks for playing.

(maybe you should google my bio)

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom "since it was meant for tablets only" you can say this about the entire windows 8 project. I hate how they sell the tablet UI and say metro bring benefits to the desktop user that doesn't have touch monitor as well. I think they should have worked on aero as well: drop the windows padding, make the windows top menu simpler not add a tone of options we don't use any way, inspire from os x lion design, scroll bar width smaller...

  • @2296jamdown Not to mention security fixes, it runs faster, and is more compatible with legacy hardware.

  • @2296jamdown

Win 8 is the fastest OS in the World that s the point of installing win 8

  • well if windows 8 not going to have normal Start Menu and desktop in standard i will never install it im sorry Microsoft i will stick with windows 7

  • @club4ghz It will have a normal start menu and desktop. only the Developer Preview which isn't even a beta required you to change the registry to get it.

  • Windows 8 sucks!

  • @EdwardTheTechGeek Any reason, or do you just troll videos about windows making an arse of your self?

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom You know I right

  • @EdwardTheTechGeek No. I know you are an idiot. I run Windows 8 Every Day. And I use it as a Normal computer.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom I just want a normal computer not tablet.

  • @EdwardTheTechGeek What part of You can use Windows 8 on a normal computer, as a normal OS that looks just like Windows 95,98,xp,vista,7 don't you get? My windows 8 computer is a Normal non-touch, non-tablet with a start menu and desktop.

  • I don't like the touch screen. I just want a normal windows computer!

  • @EdwardTheTechGeek I hate future. All computers will have touch screen monitors. I want a normal Windows computer too!

  • win XP just RULE!!!!!!

  • @MrRadpolon

    Windows 7 > XP.

  • Can you tell me how to remove the water mark on the left bottom corner of the screen? the microsoft conidential warning its very annoying to look at

  • i know this is only a dev. preview but Windows at as it stands now is just plain retarded. at the very least they can change it up so you can have just one experience. either boot into metro, or boot up into the desktop. having both and having to jump back and forth between the two UI's is just retarded. Give me one experience or another. not Multiple experiences at the same time. who the heck would want that?

  • can you permanantly banish the metro ui to the depths of hell where it belongs?

  • Why he call that a hack? It's setting a variable from 1 to 0 -.-! u can do it in 200 ways

  • You do realize this WDP is PRE-beta, right?

  • I agree they should have made the non-Win8 apps as bigger version of the orignial icons to make it looks IOS like atleast only for the old non windows 8 apps. Also they should make folders like IOS that show what you have inside so there is no need for a desktop. They need to make the whole OS touch friendly and get rid of the desktop

  • OR.. u can put ur mouse on the left-down corner and click Search, click on Apps and type in the app u wanna use. it is even more easy than clicking Start Menu, then All Applications, then the app folder and then the app.

  • Macs sucks so shut your mouths

  • that sucks

  • Just buy a apple! Windows is always going backwards.

  • @bozzytv thats why theres linux

  • thanks for the INFO i will be staying away from 8 for sure looks like there just copying and merging ubuntu, chrome together screw that

  • Having to hack your system to get basic functionality? BS, I hope they fix this before the RTM.

  • @JoelB3783 This isn't even an alpha, and it was meant as a demo of the new UI. Are you always this much of a Troll?

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom yeah no, i wasn't trolling i was stating it would be much better if they fix this before the RTM. you must be extra sensitive. If i wanted to troll i would say GO GET A MAC/UBUNTU MACHINE BECAUSE WINDOWS IS WORTHLESS. No I like windows, but they need to fix this. By fix i mean add the old start menu.

  • @JoelB3783 DONT wait, buy XP

  • ive done this its really easy and worked okay but the developer relase was really buggy i uninstalled and put arch back on my computer. im not missing windows 8

  • @goochbuntu I have been running since release been rock solid on my Laptop. Only complaint was print drivers. Which I rarely use.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom ya im not sure what went wrong i figred its windows in alpha so i left it. i did see its at a 6.2 kernel now which is kinda neat but i am not the best person to ask about windows the only reason i keep up with windows is incase someone asks me how to do something , but i find myself lost in the windows operating system do to my histry using a more simplified desktop. so ya its looks nice for a alpha and i do hope this operating system makes it.

  • @goochbuntu I had no problems with Windows 8 and its has been my main os since it came out. Plus its a DP its going to be buggy any OS at this stage will be buggy, including Linux.

  • @Bkackwateropsdotcom Dude thank you so much I'm so happy now :-)

  • Now we have to hack windows to have START GREEEEAT!!

  • @MrRadpolon Don't complain because you don't like hacking it is the most easiest hack ever!

  • Hey you were on Lockergnome!

  • Transcript-

john "steve you should not be smoking crack in office hours"

steve balmer "im your boss do not talk about crack in my office, why have you come to see me?"

john"we need to know what icon you want the windows 8 start menu to be?"

steve balmer "fuck it just get rid of it like all my other decisions it will work out ask bob to bring more crack up"

john"your joking you cant get rid of the start menu"

steve balmer" this is some good crack, im not joking get rid of the fucking start menu"

  • thank you iv wanted to get the start menu back

  • But you can just start typing on the Metro Start screen to search, you don't need to memorise apps. Surely its even faster to open apps like that than it is looking through a traditional start menu?

  • @davkem You can do that on the traditional start menu. There is also "Win+R"

  • windows 8 has registry? it can never reach Mac OS X security.

  • @mrfantasticP Mac OS X has a Registry, they just don't make it easy to find. I can access all the files on your mac in under 30 minutes no Passwords or logins needed. You could spend weeks with my Windows 7 and get nothing.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom YES!! Windows is NUMBER 1!!!! The BEST!!

  • Comment removed

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom

Are you sure about that? give me 5 min and i will wide open your win7 to the limits you can't even imagine.

win7 has too much vulnerabilities my friend.

  • @TheSpo0fer Google Brandon Wirtz FBI and see if you think your Hacker Skills are superior to mine. Hint My first visit from the CIA was in 3rd grade.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom

ya ya whatever mate, all i m saying is everything starts with microsoft IS NOT secured at all period.

i m just a simple guy who pays with 0's and 1's BUT i have heard GOOD HACKERS DON"T GET CAUGHT.

  • @TheSpo0fer You are an idiot. That is a statement of fact, not an opinion.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom

    LOL, HACKERWANABE

Yes i did uncapping and send an invitation to feds which make really an idiot. You are absolutely right i m an idiot and thats a fact.

  • @mrfantasticP

who cares none of mac can reach any windows ability

  • THANK YOU!!!! I was going crazy with the new start menu in Metro!!

  • Darn, a registry hack, I am scared to mess with the registry because I messed up a computer at school when playing with the registry (I had the teacher's permission- it was a computer class). I eventually fixed it (yes- me, not the teacher), but I am still nervous about this stuff.

  • @GeekinsteinTutorials That's like saying you are scared to cook because you once burned toast. You are changing one value that is already there, it isn't like you have to create 100 new values.

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom I have been with Windows since 3.1. Windows 8 looks horrible and for me it runs worse than Vista.

  • WOOOW !!!

  • I Hate chris pirillo so I'm subing to you

  • @wemakepies yeah chris pirillo is a dick

  • Its just...its just...a piece of shit lmao

  • is this legal?

  • @iSrosh128 Yes. Why wouldn't it be?

  • There is nothing that I have seen or heard about Windows 8 that I like. I will not know how to use it with the Metro tiles and it is also quite ugly. That's why I am going to buy more Windows 7 and Windows XP laptops now. To stock up on laptops. So that if they stopped making Windows 7.I will not be forced to buy Windows 8. Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman You don't have to use Metro, it is optional in the final release. Windows XP is long Dead, and there is no support so most new software won't run on it.

  • Thank you for your reply. I have got both Windows 7 and Windows XP netbooks. Windows XP is still supported until 2014, and even then, they may extend support. And I am running all of the modern software on Windows XP.Windows XP is faster than Windows 7, but both are good. I see no need for Windows 8 as Windows 7 has everything we want. And so does Windows XP. Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman XP doesn't run anything requiring DirectX 11, doesn't support quad core CPU's. And doesn't support USB 3 devices. Support through April 2014 is only going to bring "patches with imminent security threats" so if XP isn't going to destroy other computers not getting fixed. WIndows XP and 7 won't run anything written using the new HTML5 presentation layer.

  • I don't know anything about Direct X. But Windows XP runs all the modern web browsers, media players and chat messengers. As well as some older web browsers and supports my USB web cam. But so does Windows 7.And the good thing about Windows 7 is that you can set it to Aero theme or Windows Classic look. And it runs most of the software for Windows XP,2000,98 and 95. I bet Windows 8 won't. So you are better off to stick with Windows7,XP or Vista. Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman Windows 8 does all those things and runs more "old" software than XP or Win7 did.

  • But you have still got the problem of no start menu and that Metro theme on Windows 8. That makes it difficult to use. But Windows 7 is only 2 years old. So I don't think that Windows 8 can be better than Windows 7. If you have Windows 7 you have almost everything. I got my first laptop,Windows 7 last year. Then this year I got a Windows XP laptop. And Windows XP works like it was only made 2 months ago,not 10 years ago. Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman What are you talking about? The start menu is just like it used to be. Metro is Optional. You are horribly mis-informed.

  • But in the other videos I saw, every time you tried to disable the Metro it came back. And there was a start menu on the left hand side, but it did not look like the Windows 7 start menu. And is it true there is no Windows Classic theme on Windows 8 only Aero? Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman There is a windows classic, And Metro isn't running if you do what I said in this video. ANd this is the developer preview, not even a Beta release candidate it was meant to run on tablets.. It is not indicateive of the final release.

  • Well,I have just seen some other videos on Windows 8. And if you install your own software like Firefox or VLC player it does not show up in the Metro tiles,or start menu. So how are you supposes to launch Firefox and other programs you installed if you can't find them in the start menu or Metro tiles? And it seems you can get the Windows 7 desktop. But when you click on the start menu, the Metro tiles come back again. Andrea Borman.

  • @andrea22borman Uh, I don't know maybe try the programs menu on metro. You go into the very bottom-left side of the screen and wait for the little menu to come up. Hit search, then apps. There you go! Your installed programs!

  • just get windows 7

  • Windows 8 is deffinatelly a flop for alot of hardcore users.

  • So it will have a big ass ugly clock? and i have to hack it to look liek windows 7? and its not compatible with most of my stuff ? why do i want this

  • Fantastic, lets just say I just paid for a brand new OS so now in order for it to work right i have to hack it... hmm reminds me of another OS microsoft had a few years back, vista........

  • i hate the metro ui on pc because of the icons because if they gonna continuse the metro ui every publisher of program maker needs to make metro icons right?cauze it's not fit in the look of the original icon to the metro icon haha (many errors right? :DD)

  • FUCK THE GRAPHICS PROCESSOR ON UR PC MUST BE HUGE

  • @nhking4 doesnt need to be huge to run window 8....cheap 50 dollar 8800gt will ran just fines....unless ur going for extreme gaming

  • i would like to say for everyone bitching about the APPS (software) like firefox and everything else.Is because there are not developer for win 8 you damn ass.Hint why is dev beta. Why don't you try learning a few things because i have seen 10 videos bitching about that now

  • Thank you for this. Getting back to the regular UI is such a relief.

  • Thx man! this helped me alot.

But i want a video about how to get dual boot Windows 7 and 8. Because now when i have 8, i want W7 back :(

And i cant find a video about how to dual boot W7 and W8 from the W8.

  • @TheParkourWolf thats easy men..

  • I have the same TV...

  • I suppose what you have to bear in mind is that the App Store isn't open yet. The point is, when it's open, a lot of the things you use i.e. Chrome, Google search, Windows Live Messenger, Email etc. will no doubt be there. And as others say, it's in beta. We'll see. I love the Windows 8 Start Menu - and the weather app, Twitter app and all of the others are fantastic. c:

  • stop complaining, it's a test version, meant for testing the global properties, program grouping is obviously not a priority since this version of windows is not meant te be running a great amount of programs

  • Win8 is a complete joke

  • Why come up with a whole new experience when Windows 7 is the better experience. Just improve the system we have already.

  • That clock size is ridiculous.

  • Windows 7 + Advanced Media Center = Windows 8

  • Thanx.......

  • While this was helpful, and I am happy to have the Start menu back, this really messes up the Metro UI. It isn't usable really. I know it can be easily changed, but still a bit irritating. Anyway, thanks for the video! I'm so happy to have the start menu

  • Comment removed

  • @xyz98742 If that is what I wanted I would run DOS.

  • Hii, can you tell me if your brightness option works? because mine doesn't after i install windows 8 :((

  • @MakeleleToulalan Does on both machines I installed on, but my Hot Keys to do it do not, because ASUS doesn't have drivers that will install on Win8

  • You know what? I'm sticking with Windows 7. Not perfect, but it's great for now. WIndows 8 is the new Vista, but a lot worse.

  • @duderme How can you even say that based on a developer preview, since your not a developer it's not even meant for your eyes

  • @elitewarrior11 Your right, my comment was a very stupid and quick assumption. If tweaked a bit, I could like Windows 8 better than 7 with it's memory management and all.

  • NO MORE VIDEOS FOR TONIGHT ( :p ) i gotta sleep sometime..dammit!

    keep on rollin brandon xD

  • It's as I thought: Metro is for touchscreens; if you have a big-titted desktop and dual monitors and lots and lot of programs, fergit it. So, okay. We can make Windows 8 look like Windows 7. What, then, is the advantage of 8? Also, does 8 talk to the internet when I don't want it to?

  • FAKE AND GAY!!!!

(not the video, but Windows 8 itself)

  • @Ilja4eva i'm almost inclined to agree. html5 on the METRO ie10 version CRASHES when multitasking ( atl tab and click edge of screen to slide in other windows). ALOT. and they were bragging about " no chrome ness." or " chrome free" lol. dumbasses...COPYING CHROME is what made IE9 so much faster, stable and BETTER than ie8. get a clue microsoft.

  • @chronofusion "Chrome" in this case isn't "Google Chrome" it is "Browser Chrome" which is the address bar, menus, tabs, etc, that aren't in the Full screen IE Experience you get from the Metro UI

  • @BlackwaterOpsDotCom ( peanut accent from Jeff Dunham) I KNOOOOOOOOOOW" that's the coherence I was referencing. :D thanks for the explanation part of those items I didnt realize were different on a serious note.

If they could JUST fix the crashing problem ( not sure if it's only x64 version or if it's both or if there is something on my rig) with changing programs attention, and enabling a built in feature similar to iReader extension/chrome WHILE full screen. THAT WOULD ROCK .

  • they should have 2 versions, one with standard ui and one with metro because metro sucks on desktop

  • Soz indeed Changingwindows1 said it before!

  • @ChangingWindows1 Yeah that appears to be the case... I'm ok with that... You could create a .reg file with a 1 and a 0 version of the key and toggle between if you wanted.

  • Hello,

I dont know if anyone mentiont it before,

But if you apply this hack, and reboot then there is NO way to open the metro screen like you said with double tap on windows key.

If i do the reg edit, i can go to metro by pressing windows key, after reboot, it aint working anymore.

Eitherway i find the os very stable, but indeed have the same issue with start menu

  • Very goo
