I would like to visit more old forts and such next time I go. We almost went to Tortuga. You must take a boat to get there. I do not believe there is any greater danger there than anywhere in Haiti. From Port au Prince to Port de Paix is a good half a day of rugged, bumpy driving and you will need a good truck or SUV.
Thanks for making this slide show I would of liked to see some of the older buildings and forts from the Colonial days though. It is my dream to go to Tortuga Island but I hear it is to dangerous. How safe did you feel there? How hard was it to get to Port de Paix from Port au Prince airport?
