all around great car, but according to the specs, it shouldn't cost more than 25k. however, this is a true example of how horsepower can mean absolutely nothing
thats one sweet looking lotus, colour is hot too. one thing i would change is the rear end, it looks too much like the elise from behind. any1 else think that?
this is the first lotus that i actually liked. i liked the 90s esprit but this is the greatest piece of art made by lotus! in my opinion any other lotuses that look like the elise sucks.
saw one and sat in it this past weekend at car show absolutely gorgeous car perfect interior. i am 6'3" and had plenty of room in it, they start @ 75K. it looks just like a mini GT-R.
well to be perectly honest, i think its great because its a toyota, so its reliable, and it gives the car a good amount of power for its size and wieght.
Lotus did make their own engines for the Esprit, its only with the Elise that they started with using Toyota engines.
They were pretty great engines too, very powerful for their weight and size. But it became too expensive to develop a new one from scratch. If they had, the cost of the Elise would probably be double what it is now... so they use highly tuned Toyota motor.
And from there it worked out so well that they just kept doing it. It lets them build great cars and keep their price down.
it doesnt NEED more power they designed it how they wanted it, Lotus are the gods of handling not speed they even helped design the nissan GTR's chassis
The only thing that i don't like is the color... the rest is nice as the car. And interriors are awsome with some parts in leather, the shift and the dashboard is my fabourite thing. I've read that the engine is really stronger than other lotus. But in my opinion the best lotus is the exige Cup and the elise supercharged.... How i'd like to drive 'em!!!! xD
That is a fairly interesting car, I don't really like the color the best but I could imagine this car a bit darker in color would look awesome. The back looks quite different then most cars so I love the fact that this car is unique. And the manual gearbox of course!

I think BMW's 3.0L I-6 would've been great. I drive a 328i and that engine is fantastic. Great low end torque and it sounds really nice.

wish they would have used something other than a toyota engine.

I agree. What do you think they could have used instead?
MajinFrahma 2 years ago
i really don't know. i think lotus should experiment and try to make an insanely powerful engine themselves!
lamborghinifreak123 2 years ago
. . . turnip farmers making an engine .. . . riiiight ;)
upsidedownside1 2 years ago
If they succeed in making a car like this or the exige, i think they can make their own engine.
