Of course Marciano wouldn't even hit most of those guys . At 5ft10.5in with a 67 inch reach couldn't reach todays fighters.

There is no doubt that rocky marciano was the greatest boxer ever, I couldnt help but laugh when someone said he ducked out on alot of fights.....That person seems to forget that he fought the best fighters around at his time and beat all of them. The only boxers what are closest to marciano is Ali and lenox lewis.

I still rate Joe Louis as number one in HW history. 13 yrs he held the title. (and Archie held the LHW title for ten) Marciano hit harder than Frazier.. Ali would have done good until the late rounds. rRcky never got tired. 5-11 and 188-192. 'Shrimp'

I may have exaggerated about harrison but my point that the standard of boxing in them days was nowhere near where it is now remains. Sure marciano was a great in his day, but were he fighting in his prime now there'd be no way he'd retire undefeated, whatever weight he'd be in the modern sport.

@TheAskazi And yes, the Klitschkos are not the most exciting guys to watch. They don't take many chances, and they both have very good jabs which they use a lot. It's boring, but it is effective. Vitali is definitely among the best heavyweights of all time, but he is boring to watch.

watching TV in the days before video tape, you could watch the whole fight, then look down to reach for your beer and miss the punch, and there was no replay! You'd have to wait till the newsreel came out the next week to see it. You had to pay attention in those days..

@bathwaterfilms Walocott was also washed up after 68 previous pro fights and having so many concussions. The punch wasn't that hard really , although it landed perfectly on the chin . Not one of the 400 hardest punches I have seen but more than enough to KO his opponent . It wouldn't have even moved Foreman's head and probably wouldn't KO any of todays giants . Of course Marciano wouldn't even hit most of those guys . At 5ft10.5in with a 67 inch reach couldn't reach todays fighters.
