  • Thank you!

  • Niiiice! Wish I could do shading like that!

  • Using layer opasity (sorry if mis-spelled) to shade... genius!! Why didn't I think of that?!

  • Oh.... my... god..... This is great.

  • Now that is a very interesting way to color.

  • I've been wondering this for awhile: when you scan the picture in, do you have to then trace your work before putting in color? And if not, how do you get the white to be so uniform?

  • I am just wondering how you did the part with the shades. You had a lot of black and then all of it disappeared so the shadows were only on Link.

  • i'm constantly trying to fix the face that i can not draw a line on paper or computer, without it being more of a zig zag

  • IM A FAN OF YOUR DEVIANT ART WORK! ~EXCALIBURTHEGREAT

  • You have GOT to make a tutorial!

  • Goodness, how inspiring. :)

Might I inquire as to the version of the song you had in the background, please?

  • How did you blend the colors?

  • Gaussian blur..

  • 0:30 - 0:50 NOO!!! Darkness is taking Link away!!

    0:53 Oh... nvm.. XD

  • Naaw....cute!^^

  • sweet vid im still using photoshop 6.0 too love it!!

  • @darrenvox I'm still using PS6 too :)

  • Hah, never thought that shading can be done that easy in photoshop. Nice work.

  • holy crap! dude that is like awsome!

  • What brush did you use when drawing the log? Was it just a standard brush with a lot of jitter?

Also, great stuff... love how you do your shading and highlights.

  • I just used a medium sized pencil brush, the kind without feathering/anti-aliasing.

  • Hey i have the really old photoshop 3, and im wondering if you know any way to get a really cheap or free photoshop 6 or higher download. I need the update so i can make my comics much better. Ill show you them if you need deatils.

  • if you're a student you can get a great student discount and buy it directly from Adobe for pretty cheap.

  • k thanks. Also do you know where i can download any cartooning brushes? you know like really smooth on all sides and cirular?

  • Honestly I don't because my version is so old I haven't really looked into brushes in a long time.

  • I also use Gimp, but i'm trying to switch to Photoshop. How did you make the shadows by drawing and filling them? That's soo cool!

Love this video too. You're an amazing artist!

  • the shadow is on a separate layer. I fill it in all black and then just adjust the opacity to about 30%.

  • That's really clever! Very cool

  • Really really good, man. How long did it take you to make this in real time?

Also, what recording device did you use?

  • I dunno... maybe an hour... two max.

I used Unregistered Hypercam. The best TYPE of hypercam.

  • Nice Job, BTW its me Kratos15 from GT

    I rated it 5 stars

  • thanks. I got more Photoshop drawings progresses in my gallery too ^_^

  • I always had some anti-aliasing issues in Photoshop when I used the bucket tool. I never could find a way around it. Instead, I manually colored everything on a separate layer, but that took too long.

  • if you're having problems with anti-aliasing with the bucket, there's two reasons for that.

One is that you scanned the lineart as a grayscale image instead of pure B/W. Another might be that the anti-aliasing button is checked on the bucket itself (which can easily be turned off).

You can reduce a grayscale image into pure b/w by using the "threshold" option under Edit.

    Dunno if that helps any...

  • thanks for taping this. it was really instructional [if that's a word?] anyway, love your art on sheezyart and your comics.

  • Wow, that's a really neat way of shading, I love it! Everything looks so nice and clean. It's totally awesome. 8)

  • Ah, you can use the bucket tool efficiently... I'm using GIMP and can't seem to escape anti-alias in lineart... Hmm, maybe I can think of a way around that... Anyway, awesome work.

  • that might mean that the image itself when scanned was in grayscale mode instead of B/W lineart mode. You might have to reduce it to pure B/W before you import it into gimp. I dunno though, cuz I don't use Gimp. @_@;

  • Whhyyyyy are you so amazing?! I am so jealous! This is great stuff!

  • its rather relaxing :3

  • amazing~

  • Nice job, I always like seeing the coloring process.
