I have a 255W and i'm having trouble with it's screen. when i touch the map button to view the map of the destination i want, i will select back. and on the Qwerty key board if i select the letter M, O, L etc.. the unit keeps selecting Q. i've tryied to calibrate the screen like 10 times, but i still got the same issue.
@faddablacks I've contacted garmin about this, and they told my to charge it for about 4 hours. but that for as long as it is in the vehicle to keep it plugged in at all times. the battery is for pedestrian use only.
Is this still a good gps? It's about 3 years old, but it's cheap and it's what I can afford for now.

Thanls for sharing! Believe it or not, I like mounting it on the dashboard. For me it's easier to reach.

i did a lot of research, and this is the best bang for the buck.
new software and maps on this one, and it speaks street names, the 205w doesnt.
ive used almost every other brand of GPS and Garmin has the most intuitive interface.
im ordering this 255w by the way, i cant wait, and its black which i like, the old 200w wasnt.
