As mentioned, the ultrasound exam is highly operator dependant and many cancers go undetected or falsely interpreted as benign every year due to lack of standardized protocols in ultrasound departments. Request a sonographer or a radiologist who uses a Breast Ultrasound Structured Reporting Software to generate the report. This will ensure a higher accuracy, consistency and readability of the report especially useful when you need to come back for follow up examinations.

very helpful as well for me. im 20yrs old and i hav family history of cancer. for months ive had a lump in my right breast and its been painful. i received a mammogram and the results came bak as it being only a cyst, but i want a second opinion and thats why im going to receive an ultrasound on my breast and will be getting it removed.
