  • "Freedom. Just around the corner from you. But with truth so far off, what good would it do"

    ~Dylan

  • what a fag!!!!

  • WOOHOO Primary Others!

  • i look forward to attending this year.

  • Masscann. while i applaud & approve of your efforts to make pot legal is it wise to have your efforts, "intermingled" with those who believe that 9-11-01 was purposefully done by the US GOVT? legalization of pot has a certain mainstream approval but i believe lumping your causes with conspiracy believers may hamper your efforts. mainstream american citizens can be ok with pot reform, but alex jones & company? not a chance.

    good luck with your efforts.

  • I book the music and actually reached out to book Jason Bermas personally. I hear what you are saying but we are an organization of and for the people and many support more truth being put out there. You can call it conspiracy theory, I call it asking questions and raising awareness. I'm not defending and will dispute many of the things that Bermas and Jones might even say but I support their right to speak to our audience.

  • Jason Bermas was really a cool, nice and non confrontational. He is a somewhat known name, one of the biggest celebs up with the guys from High Times and NORML. He spoke for free, paid his own way to get there and even showed up for our pre-party the night before. He's a nice guy, intelligent, spoke directly to our crowd about the war on drugs and the govt. I saw a few people trying to give him a little crap even one of the headline type speakers, he was very cool about it.

  • So how far would you take this? If Willie Nelson wants to play or Charlie Sheen, Rosie O'Donnell want to speak, we say no to them to? The Rally is about bringing the maximum people out to a show, to raise new members, money, and awareness for the orgs. If half the crowd was pissed or the event wasn't doing better at that in recent years and especially last year, I'd pay attention to it. It hasn't been a problem but for only a few and even they are still ok with it.

    It works and Bermas helped.

  • And one last thing, I hope that events like this cause film makers to make more movies about the war on drugs. You may not like the movie, "Loose Change" but it is phenomonon and I hope they can do the same some day with the war on drugs..

  • im glad we can have this exchange of opinions without this getting vulgar. i'd smoke to that!

  • Me, too! Hope you check out the MassCann pre-party awards show this year the night before the Rally as well. Friday Night, Sept. 19th, 2008, Middle East Downstairs, Mass Ave., Cambridge, MA. With High Times Magazine, WBCN, NORML and More.

  • i have no problem with you inviting people that i may not agree with. i'd watch willie and light up a doobie in the park if i wouldnt get busted.

  • a scenario:

if somehow the legalization issue gets on the state ballot in a binding refrendum your opponents say: "but theyre joined up with the 9-11 conspiracy believers!" now your cause has to use valuable resources fighting off a distraction which is difficult to defend against. i believe that your cause is difficult enough. i dont think joe & jane sixpack think about conspiracy, just not getting 2 years mandatory for getting caught with a joint near a schoolyard.

  • Legalization is not going to happen in the near future in MA.

But decrim looks to be a real possibility. It is going to be a binding statewide question in MA with the November Presidential Election. I'm not worried about that scenario that you painted. We really aren't tied in with them at all. Just let him speak at the Rally, no media is going to look into that. They are lazy and that is to complex for them, I know this.

  • liberals bare foot radical liberals

  • I'm not a liberal. Asking not to be arrested for a victimless crime is not radical or liberal. Asking to be allowed to use medicine that treats my pain is not radical. Denying people medicine is radical and a role of a piece of scum that is actually what they pretend to despise. What are you jhnbutters? A LIBERAL who thinks the law should decide my medicine? I think so.

I have worked for 20+ years. Never took a disability check for long term pain and you want to ridicule my rights? F you.

  • Bermas fuckin rules. NOT Clinton.

  • Yes he does and Clinton does not!

  • can we do it again next weekend before it gets all cold?
