  • You should checkout the original by aussie rockers cold chisel.

  • Nah, Living End's version is way better (In my opinion)

  • aggreed

  • agreed

  • Chris Cheney could be Brian Setzer's son.

  • oi it was unbeilivible the living end was vivsiting my school today and i got my elec guitar signed by the drummer and the guitarest!

  • which school and where?

  • Great version of this Cold Chisel classic, love the bass and guitar but the voice aint a patch on Jimmy Barnes.

  • i dont think its meant to be..

  • Never heard about that song, even though I'm a huge fan of The Living End O_o

They rock, they should be more famous, cause they're really talented... Which album do this song come from ?

  • Ok I've seen it's on a limited edition of a tribute compilation... damn, won't be able to find it anywhere !!

Anyone Australian here 's got that song ? lol

  • its a cold chisel cover from a compilation album, 1980's really good pub themed aussie band, just download it from anywhere.

  • I don't find it for download...

  • yeah man i have the album its on awesome song

  • this is the shit! it almost sounds 1950s like haha its supercool!!

  • out of evey single film clip ive seen from the living end hes been using the same guitar for a completely different song AWESOME

  • actually this is the first film clip where Chris Cheney used his signature series Gretsch. but this one in the film clip was just a prototype at the time.

  • Omg, sounds as a little Elvis

  • omg i love this song!

  • Rising sun stole your girl, that´s only fair, because you stole Rock this town from the Stray Cats ;)

  • own3d

  • TRUE

    LOL

  • Someone stole your braincells, because that was fucking retarded. -_-

  • it is a cover of a song from a 1980 album by Cold Chisel - Rock this Town was recorded in 1981, so...

  • lol idiot. thats all i can say haha

  • The best band ever!

    The best singer ever!

    The best guitarist ever!

    The best cover ever!

They really should do more of rockabilly stuff like this one.

  • ...I have no idea what the hell you just said...

  • does anyone know what ablum this song is from cause i cant find it anywhere

  • it was on a tribute album for cold chisel. i think heaps of other bands sang cold chisel songs for it too. like the beegees best of album

  • your an idiot if you think they are emo, its called rock a billy

  • Um try punk. Best punbk band Australia have produced to my knowledge

  • punk wtf you fag its called rock and roll

  • it's rockabilly

  • HAI ANDREW. too right, good old rock and roll!

  • Actually, th3em is more right than andrew, it's called Punkabilly mate.

It's TLE's mix of rockabilly (stray cats) and punk. :)

  • haha lol i know that. But its still Rock. rockabilly falls under the massive genre ROCK. as do all the other genre/genre thingos. if ya know what i mean. :D

  • all time legendaary song but not on limewire:(

well done guys. u should come to brisbane

  • If it is só legenendary, just buy the album!

  • y buy the album wen u can download it???

  • because they deserve all the money for everyone who wants their song. lime wire is stealing from them idiot

  • EVERYBODY likes kungfu fighting! dadadadadadadadada!the man was fast as lightening dododo dododo dododo dododo.. I admit it was a little bit frightening dadadadadadadadada coz that man was fast as lightening dododo dododo dododo dododo. (wrong lyrics much)

  • EpiMuzik you do realise they are all wearing black nail polish in this video, its probably part of the costume and not them trying to be emo

  • It's part of the costume. Watch the early parts of the clip; compare Chris' nails to where they're dressed as Japs.

  • yeh i kno i was trying to explain that to some one else, Never mind!

  • BAHAHAH.

    Menga111... you're so right.

  • chris cheney emo? are you mentally retarded?

  • check my video of the new song How Do We Know. Ive got the non-live version ^.^

  • anyone have a mp3/video with out the karate chops and 'heyya' sounds in it?

it grosses me out..it sounds like someone throwing up =\

  • Buy the album - it's on there without effects...

  • yeah, that's real nice and all, but how would you like me to find a cd honouring australian music, in canada?

  • um...buy it online..

  • care to suggest a place? itunes doesn't have it and i'm not giving my credit card number and details to some shady site.

  • ebay?

  • I cannot wait for Chris' signature Gretsch to be released.

  • kind of reminds me off kiss in a way.. any one agree???

  • they done a good cover of this song but cold chisel is still the best

  • real nice band/song... do you guys think it 2 that he likes a little bit at brian setzer? i mean the singer :P

  • no, not at all.

he sounds like setzer though. a bit

  • Fuckin rock"n"roll yeah!!!

  • Fuck Yeah!

  • YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this band is awsome, but I dont like the black nail polish. turns me off

  • =O

    nooooo

    haha

    ur opinion

    i lik the nail polish

  • same here...turns everything emo..hahaha

  • He's been wearing black nail polish since like forever.

  • yea and it wasnt emo when he did it, emo has ripped off punk an made it all depressing an shit

  • so true..and its fucking annoying

  • try, ROCK-A-BILLY.

  • thats a music style not a fasion style wake-up dic head

  • Yeah, their genre of music.

  • alright just to to tell you this is a cover they did'nt write this

  • who sings the original?

  • did u even read the information about the video

    Cold Chisel!

  • Woahhh Calm Down Psycho!!!

  • quiet down drummer boy!!!

  • i disagree i think they would loose fans if they made to many more like this i mean i LOVE it but its not whats the popular thing at the moment maby/hopefully in years to come long live the longnecks

  • The Living End should write more music like this, then they would even better! even thought that is impossible

    LONG LIVE THE LIVING END!

  • Alot of their music is like this, they're following the punkabilly genre..?

  • Yeah, but all i was saying it would be cool to hear a few songs like this on the new album, but even if it doesnt have any on it. it doesnt bother me, The Living End are still the best band ever EVER and their new album will be absoloutley awesome

  • mm the new album wont be as good, alot of the songs the longnecks play sound more like metal rather than punkabilly..

    the solos are good though

  • from what i have heard so far, i rekon it will be awesome

  • when is the new album expected to come out?

  • Mid year i think, so in a few months.

  • I'm agree with you....

the living end is the greatest!! YEAH!!!

  • the kubiki masks are freekin me out, but the chicks are cute.

  • Brian Setzer would appreciate ..

  • Brian Setzer = legend

  • Would like to see Brian Setzer in Australia again, I saw the Stray Cats support Jimmy Barnes in Sydney many moons ago in the 80's.

  • wow... i'd love to have see them live back in the day, but i had no chance as i hadn't actually been born yet! oh well...

  • I think the stray cats are better than Jimmy Barnes. he should of been supporting them! haha lol

  • shut up!!! this is the best song ever!!!!!!!!

  • This is performed by Living End. It is by Cold Chisel. DJman900 this song is pretty good you have to admit.

  • thats why nobody asks you

  • LOL pickin the bass up at the end. good job

  • YEAAAAAAH !!!!

  • Gotta love the living end...

Its kool how much influence Brian Setzer has had on Chris' style of music..

I love this style of music. :)

  • A good rockabilly to this song.

    Nice.

  • a good one too, ROCK ON THE LIVING END

    best band ever

  • haha tribute to the stray cats lol

    its a cold chisel cover

  • This song proves that The Living End is great, they can do all sorts of styles of rock.

  • Yeah!! This is obviously a tribute to the Stray Cats, where the get their Rockabilly sound from. Love it! Especially the kungfu sounds in the solo :)

  • WOOT blues style

  • rockabilly

    thats the style m8

  • aint blues dude

  • seen em live twice and met them all once...fucking incredible band

  • god lucky.

  • Had a chance to see them at the Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee Wi. a few years ago, along with Jet and The Vines. The Living end opened the show, but should have ended it.

  • prtty good

  • Will this song be on any CDs that would be imported to the UK?

  • It's on a CD called 'Standing On The Outside - The Songs Of Cold Chisel'. A UK store will be able to import it in for you from Australia...

  • The living end is so underrated. Chris is a fucking awesome talented guitarist prob the best of his kind in Australia. The Living End has punk rock roots like many good bands but stil has that rockabilly sound. hey rock

  • not totally underrated, Chris did win a bunch of Jack Awards:

    Best Lead Guitarist - 2004, 2005 and 2007

    Best Male - 2006

  • ive met TLE

  • When ???? I would like meet them !! Are they nice ? I think yes

  • When you take into consideration that the Living End started out as a Stray Cats cover band called The Runaway Boys, it's good to know Chris started learning from Setzer, his idol. They've since changed the sound and made it their own. A fantastic band.

  • its sweet how it shows chris' fret work, most TLE clips dont...

  • i think the Rockabilly? Punk Sound Is great!

I Love 50s Rockabilly SO much!

  • dont try and pigeon-hole the living end as simply a "punk" band OR a "rockabilly" band. considering their previous 2 albums couldnt really come under either genre i think it would be sensible to simply declare them a "rock 'n' roll band". chris cheney is, by a country mile, the best lead guitarist in the country. he is capable of playing in pretty much EVERY single style and has shown this over their 4 albums and 2 EPs. however this cover is pure rockabilly... and i love it!

  • I have all the albums! (even the EP's)

  • i cant find "Its for your own good" anywhere!!! its the only one i need then i have all of them, i might have to order it in i want it so bad bad bad Props to you buddy

  • One of my favourite songs of the year. Number 36 for the year!

  • yeah dude but listen to the rest of there stuff

its not punk. the punk enegry is there but the simplicity of it isn't. if you hear there solos there not punk and plus it takes alot to learn a cover thats that much more skilled if they were punk so they wouldnt try it if they were

  • What it comes down to is not whether they are punk, or rockabilly or rockbilly<-(larzya). They Rock and that is all that matters. People overly critique music and label it. It is what it is. The Living End are Australian group that represents music the way it is suppose to be sound.

  • I Meant " The Living End are a Australian group that represents music in a way that it should sound."

  • you can call the living end not punk, but keep in mind that this is a cover song ;)

  • fucking idiots its called rockbilly learn your fucking music and there not punk there punk influnenced

  • bluddy hell they sound country! =O i thought they were punk?

  • they don't usually sound like that

  • The Living End is the Best band to come out of Australia or probably even the World in for all music types, sounds and genres.

  • i meant probably even the World in all music types, sounds, and genres.

  • FUCK YEH

  • i dunno powderfinger is pretty good

  • One of their best songs of late and definitely their best video ever!

  • Well, this is a little more straight up rockabilly than most of their stuff, but for the most part yes it is.

  • Do all of this band's stuff sound like this? It's awesome.

  • Do a search on youtube for some there stuff, they are a Mix 50's Rockabilly, 70's UK Punk and 80's Australian Pub Rock. Best band to come out of Australia in the last 15 years.

  • Kinda classic

  • TLE do justice to a Chisel classic you guys ROCK

  • Is the girl in that video Jess Geyer??

  • yes

  • That is HOT!

  • The girls are SKI they train with Keith Geyer (Dean Geyer from Austrlalian Idol's father and Sensei) They have good technique but obviously in a video clip you can't tell their strength but I'm guessing that they are pretty good considering who their Sensei is. The Living End rules for putting them into their film clip even though I don't really like this song. It's so wiked seeing people doing the same stuff as me haha

  • these guys rock

  • nice remake of the song by cold chisel

    (the originals better)

  • this band is fucking amazing theres not one song i have come across that i dislike.

  • sorry its kanku dai not gankaku

  • awesome living end rock

nice shotokan kata from the girls

    a little heianyondan,gankaku,enpi and sochin

    think they might be SKI

Chris Cheneys new gretsch with the bigsby rocks

give the white falcon a well earned rest

    psycho billy samurai rock on

  • that was so weird. but i love the living end no matter what, so i dont care

  • yeah it is a little weird but i love it

  • can this band get any better? Dont think that is even possible.

  • Scott is mad with his bass xD don't worry I'm a TLE fan I can't tell it !! lol TLE rocks ! F****** love !

  • chris is the guitarist.

  • Chris, The Bassman Looks good...

  • TLEs my fave band damn they so good at evrythin lol n they sound betta live than in the studio which is totali damn awsum :D

  • hell yeah living end dressing up! we want more!

    =D

  • If you like this, you shoudl check out the Standing On The Outside (The Songs Of Cold Chisel) video - it's about 6 mins long...

  • better then the original for shore

  • These guys are amazing because there so versitile.

  • JESS (aka karate girl) u r amazing!!! love u heaps!!

  • I Love This SONG! It's so groovy!

  • Fucking brilliant. Awesome guitar solo awesome base in the verse and Andy had a fucking ball on drums. He was shrrreeedddding. So wet right now. Hope they play that at the maynia festival at dreamworld. There is nothing The Living End can't do.

  • Jess geyer is her name =D

  • OMG! I cant get enough of this song. TLE just keeps getting better and better, (is that even possible???)

  • interesting.

    PS: i want that guitar.
