Everyone take a look at the last lineman on the left side on Michigan's field goal attempt he took a side step to the outside and therefore left running room for the defender come in and block the kick all he had to do was take a 6 inch step to the inside and Michigan would have most likely won. Yeah but it was first down. Why not just run a dive into the middle of the field then spike it and kick it on third down? Guess who the wild card was? Yes. It was Appalacchian State. Their win over Michigan pushed them into the wild card spot despite failing to win their conference championship.
