  • very nice. but that form looks a little iffy to me...

  • I'm not impressed by your performance.

  • you're a fuckin faggot scott. lose the straps you fucking pussy

  • very impressive and motivational, i weighed in at 177 and hit 300 today and it felt heavy !!

  • 5,10-197lbs.just guessing here.hey,franco competedin the under 200 class.he won the olympia twice.of course,there are differences.density,thickness,power,a cobra hood for a back.deadlifted 735x2.but other than that,spot on.have fun guys.

  • I'm a little too lazy and don't have the knowhow, but can someone please re-edit this video and just have a zoom in on his face, slo-mos / fast-mos, remix it to the usual dubstep, haha.

  • Never mind - the first time always hurts a little bit and the technique isn't perfect either :D Nice lift bro, keep it up.

  • because they are based on an athlete who specialized in olympic lifting-and NOTHING a man does can build the type of back power that can be built through serious olympic lifting.

  • lets do the deadlift-john davis handled a hefty 705lbs[entirely as a result of olympic lifting,as he never specialized on the lift and in fact rarely used it in his training].assuming a bodyweight of 233lbs,the 705 lb lift is 3.03 times bodyweight. so,for someone who weighs 205lbs-around 606lb deadlift.these marks are high.but DAVIS had absolutely titanic back power from his many years of power cleans, power pulls, and snatches.the marks are high

  • Use a belt! Hernia ? One way ticket to SNAP CITY!

  • do you even lift?

  • heres a great exercise i learned from steve reeves.its called the REEVES deadlift.load a plate on the bar-one with lips.grap the outer edge of the plates with just your FINGER TIPS.pull up as in regular deadlift fashion.absolutely incredible for grip and one of the reasons steve reeves said he had such great delt width.try this using only singles at first until your form is spot on.i have personally done these, there freaking brutal.

  • For the people saying he loves himself and its an average feat: Firstly, this is his personal best, no one cares how it compares with the weight of your reps, when you beat your own personal best and you don't feel satisfaction then you have grave psychological issues. Secondly, who cares if he seems to love himself, his videos have helped thousands of people and his words are modest and helpful; how many people have you helped. Good video, ignore these egotists.

  • @lazysamir

    Well said.

  • how much do you weigh? I weigh 205 and can rep this

  • @KamikazeScarecrows wow what an asshole

  • @iNEEDmusicNOW68 how am i being an asshole, im just asking the guy how big he is lol Im trying to see if hes smaller than me or about the same size is all.

  • @KamikazeScarecrows On the internet everybody is a powerlifter...

  • @patrikster Lol i dont care what you believe, I am just asking the guy a simple question nothing meant by it. It must be that time of the month, need to get off your rag and stop being so defensive.

  • @KamikazeScarecrows im 155 and can rep it

  • @KamikazeScarecrows he's high 170s, 180 max

  • He looked like an ass at first but made up for it afterwards by being chill

  • intersting point-we must make the exercise harder, not easier.the harder the exercise, the greater the benefit systematically.excellent retort.

  • @MrCranberry777 excellent retort

  • Nice work Scott!

  • i don't think i've ever in my life seen someone more pleased with themselves for accomplishing something very average

  • @DeliciousPoop to each his own...this kid's in love with himself, and he loves the camera...

  • shoes are a good idead.this from louie simmons.i trained with him for a few years in columbus.maybe he just got stuck?

  • @MrCranberry777 they are a good idea, but people don't use them to make the lift easier........ every extra inch that the bar is closer to your knees makes the lift easier

  • way to dig deep, and no he doesnt need shoes it wont help the lift

  • i think it will help your lift if you wear some shoes

can someone plz answer the guy below

  • i still wished i sounded like link when i workout lol

  • how much u weigh? n height?

  • how much u weigh? n height?

  • how much u weigh? n height?

  • how much u weigh? n height?

  • how much u weigh? n height?

  • he sounds like an angry japanese cartoon when he lifts

  • Those are some really nice plates...they lock into place.

  • ive pulled 435 for 4 ..and didnt have to cross my eyes before i picked it up

  • i did 500lbs come at me bra

  • the breathing keeps me entertained xD PSSST!

  • Can you please stop confusing "wrist wraps" and "wrist straps"...they are two distinctly different pieces of equipment. The things you are using in this video are called "wrist straps"...In your video where you relay the anecdote about the guys laughing at you for curling loudly, you mention they were benching in "wrist wraps" which you note are for "pulling"...You are probably confusing straps and wraps again due to the fact that wrist wraps ARE used for benching.

  • we want our lifts raw.no belt,no wraps no spotters,no straps.a suit may add maybe 20-30lbs.a bely adds a little stability but is no replacement for great form combined with pure raw power!

  • The trick to performing a good deadlift is making a really good psycho face right at the beginning. The rest of the lift will then come naturally.

  • Oh god...

  • good work, but lets be honest 405 aint shit for dead lifts rofl

  • @Fistpumppro1 eh. without a belt and no suit thats pretty good. with a suit and a belt he could prolly do like...500ish

  • great form, keep up the good work

  • does your shirt really need to be off for this :( ?

  • your gettin there.

  • allright scott-deadlifts fom floor-5x5 or 5x3,deadlifts in rack with pins set right below the knees-5x1 for pure strength.good mornings for direct lower back.lets get that number up to 500 for 5.you can,you have, you will!

  • 0:45 lol

  • everyone definately has there great lifts.for some its thebench, the squat, clean and jerk etc.our biomechanical leverages are all different.enthusiasm has a great deal to do with it i think as well.if you seriously hate a certain lift, your mind wont put 100% effort into it.try to look at every lift as a true challenge.you against the iron.only one winner.it must be YOU!

  • deadlifting is deff not your strong point. but youre great still !

  • 1:11 Come on Scott, you're awesome!

  • doug hepburn for his 70th birthday pulled 700lbs for 5 reps.arthur saxon at age80 picked up and threw over his shoulder a 300lb bag of flour.thomas inch at age 66 pulled 515lbs from the floor with one hand wa special deadlifting ring.the list goes on and on.train smart, train long.

  • which convinces the body not to make it.hes only missed two days of training from the radiation treatment.thjis is what training can do for you.never give up.reach your goals, good luck everyone!

  • if you really like that just for fun heres his 3x week routine;mon-bottom rack bench-5x5,4,3,2,1.- 2inch bar curls-5x33/8 hip belt squay-1x20,rolling thunder iarm deadlift-5x1 each hand, back neck lift-3x5. wed-upright row-5x4,rack deadlifts-5x4,db hammer curl-3x5,rairoad rail-3x3,pinch grip-3x5 each hand. fri- incline press-5x5,single dumbell row-5x4,olympic squat-2-3x10,2 inch bar verticle hang-for time.this is during a testosterone DEPRIVED CYCLE.hes on CASODEX and a monthly LUPRON shot

  • keep pressing 4 !

  • my father just turned 75 years old.he adds deadlifts in the rack with pins set below the knees or 5x4@ twice weekly.hes doing great.as a matter of fact, recently just broke 425x1.hes going up in weight, not down.have fun.

  • Ditch the straps!

  • goodbye knees and back 5 yrs

  • u will hurt your back..

  • @trollstutorials not if they're done with proper form. They will strengthen the back, hamstrings, core, etc. DL's get a bad rap because it's easy to screw up form if you aren't properly educated on it to start with.

there are middle age guys at my gym who have been doing olympic lifting like this for 15~20 years and are stronger than most guys half their age.

  • @trollstutorials Really? Tell that to every strength athlete who has ever lived. Idiot.

  • wow...i can actually DL that. judging by ur chest u still got me beat on bench by 100+ pounds lol

  • your one of those guys who is stronger than he looks wow man

  • I know I shouldn't give you advice Scott because you're a straight beast.....but wear a belt dude. I would hate to see you injure your back. Worst thing you can do on heavy d lifts is not wear a belt, and that would really suck if you hurt yourself.

  • Press 7 repeatedly for epic shoulder shrugs

  • pause @0:45

  • accoring to louie simmons, shoes are very imprtant to stability in the deadlift.he knows more than you and i combined.ill listen to louie of westside barbell.trainer of more champo=ions of powerlifting than anyone, that and the fact that i trained under louies guidence for 3 years.

  • @MrCranberry777 and that's why so many elite powerlifters wear deadlifting slippers right? Whatever helps you lift more and is comfortable is what you should be wearing broh.

  • 405 is a great number-406 is better.get to WORK!

  • of money later on physical threapy and support continued progress instead of plateaus from injury.hope this helps a little.

  • its important to find a pair of shoes that support the arches as well.orthotics should be used by any athletes with collapsing arches to ensure proper foot and ankle position, which will in turn ensure the lifter is able to recognize his or her full strength potential and better avoid injury to the ankles, knees, hips and back.weightlifting shoes are fairly expensive, but should be considered an investment in both performance and longevity.spending money now on shoes will save a lot

  • @MrCranberry777 great advice!

  • pendlay carries a great weightliftind shoe.weightlifting shoes are an absolute must for two primary reasons.first, the hard soles dont compress under loads, eliminating the instability found in softsoled shoesas well as ensuring that generated force is transmitted more completely from the platform to the bar.second, the lifted heels effectiveily increase the ankles range of motion, allowing the lifter to keep the hips forward and torso upright as needed in the squat.

  • 4 plates is okay i guess..

  • snap city here we come!

  • 0:35 bare ass naked ?haha

  • 0.45 epic face

  • good job! everybody hates on you but i give you props because these people are comparing you to other people which means they compare themselves to others which meannnsss they have self esteem issues. keep it up

  • Okay, that's not the world record. World record is 1100 by Benedikt Magnusson. I've seen people do 800lbs, it's funny, the guy you have a video on is doing less than 800 and he looks like hes about to shit a brick.

  • @Fiends4 yea but hes also 165lbs. ever seen someone so small lift so heavy? my point is u dont have to be fat to be a powerlifter. im sure if benni decided to cut down he could do it and maintain most of his strenght

  • @Fiends4 oh and world record is only 1015. idk where u got 1100 from

  • @MrJervilla mgnussen did 1100

  • @TheLadnerSkate where's the video? the most ive ever seen him pull was 1015. He did a tire deadlift of 1100 but come on, thats not a conventional deadlift

  • @MrJervilla Okay. watch?v=17ptVrk4vo8

  • @Fiends4 thats not a real deadlift. its a tire deadlift and hes using straps lol

  • @TheLadnerSkate 1100 was the tire deadlift. someone alrdy beat that alrdy. lol... the world record for the high deadlift was done raw. 1015 by benedict magnusson.

  • @Fiends4 world record TIRE DEADLIFT. WAS 1100. its alrdy beaten now. the world record for the DEADLIFT is 1015.

  • @SmexyPC And is done by a fat guy.

  • @Fiends4 ive seen your other comments in other videos, and yer just a troll. all the bullshit commenting and stupid ass shit u say "fat" lol? who cares? only an immature child would say something like that. u hardly say any mature person calling out someone because he or she is fat. educate yourself please. acutally no, why dont u go jump off a mountain.

  • @Fiends4 Tell me you're trolling, I can't believe anyone to be this fucking stupid based upon all your comments on this video.

  • @Maddolis I am not trolling. Fat people are stronger than skinny people. Even stronger than some muscular people. Not to say somebody who works out all the time is not stronger than a fat guy who does nothing, however if that fat guy works out he will progress and surpass the skinny guy faster at squats, deadlifts ect.

  • @Fiends4 Well your mind is in the right place but your definition of "fat" is completely warped. Want to see the difference between 400 pounds of beefcake and 400 pounds of fat?

Google image search Zydrunas Savickas, look at the pic of him in the lake, shirtless.

Then google image search 'Ron from biggest loser totally looks like zoidberg.'

  • @Maddolis Zyd is fat. Yes, he has muscle but there's a clear layer of fat overtop of it.

  • @Fiends4 So you look at Savickas and think to yourself instantly, "that's a fat man" ?

  • @Maddolis Haha yes. He is fat.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSimplyElectric Haha flagged as spam. Anyway, no. That is not what I am saying at all. Re-read my comment then try and reply. You're an idiot otherwise.

  • thats metal

  • that's really impressive! I did 315 x1 and was happy lol

  • Comment removed

  • bro ur weak dude ha my first deadlift was 560

  • @RayandCasper Video.

  • @RayandCasper i remember my first deadlift lol 110 for 3 reps

  • @Fiends4 ...who in god's name told you that?

  • this guy looks sick, girls love this kinda body so what if he doesnt lift freakish weights

  • haha epic face he makes every time before he is gonna life it

  • how many bodyweight are you, scott?

  • should I troll or should I not.. hmmmm....

  • Good job!

  • HEY BRO MAYBE SAVE THE STRAPS FOR WHEN YOURE LIFTING SOME HEAVY WEIGHT

  • @fuckwackemcees Yeah? Okay, post a video of you doing more weight and then come on this video and give him shit. Anything over 350 lbs and perfectly fine for straps, it's to help his grip. Fucking troll.

  • @Fiends4

I pulled 405 after 8 months of PL training.

350lbs? Seriously?! People have such low standards for lifting it's pathetic. Perfectly fine to wear straps if you're perfectly fine with having the grip of a 12 year old girl.

  • @fuckwackemcees Yet we see absolutely no video. This isn't considered power-lifting, look at his physique. Does he look fat and out of shape? He isn't power lifting.

  • @Fiends4 u dont have to be fat or out of shape to powerlift, just fyi

  • @MrJervilla It definitely helps. Go check out big weights being dead lifted and tell me how they look.

  • @Fiends4 You're retarded for thinking super heavyweight is the only weightclass in Powerlifting.

  • @Fiends4 yes i kno but that doesnt mean that they need to be overweight. the fat doesnt lift the weight

  • @MrJervilla Fat people have more muscle than skinny people.

  • @Fiends4 yes skinny people but u can be muscular and lean and lift more than a fat person

  • @MrJervilla Okay, go ahead. Find a video of a lean muscular person deadlifting more than the world record.

  • @Fiends4 well bennie holds the record and is definitly more than just a fat person.

check this out watch?v=FJGoQ3ng2rE hes definitly strong and definitly not fat

  • @MrJervilla Magnusson is incredibly out of shape and extremely fat. Yes, he's one strong motherfucker but take a good hard look at him. Guy probably can't tie his own shoelace.

  • @Fiends4 yes but still hes not ur average fat person

  • @fuckwackemcees well post a video of yourself lifting more and back your mouth up punk.

  • @fuckwackemcees fuck u lol

  • @fuckwackemcees hey lol 405 is heavy to some people

  • Scott Herman, you are one beautiful specimen.

  • to say your not that ripped or big this is a excellent lift.

  • he looks kinda fat here, water retention?

  • tiptoeing and forcing your body up right at the peak point is not ideal.. neither is slamming the weights down.. if you get the movement and lower the weight you will see much different results...

  • @JoshDG92 Mike O Hearn does the same thing when deadlifting. Doesn't fcking matter if you slam down the fcking weights. What matters is the push and pull movement, not the negative when deadlifting.

  • @UIsTall

if you want best results it does... i dont care if hulk hogan did it, its full motion - full stretching of the muscle which is most beneficial and also results in majorly reduced injury's . and you sound 'ard' for swearing buddy :).

  • @JoshDG92 Ask a powerlifter that and get cursed out. When you're lifting 500lbs+, the negative doesn't matter at all when dling. Otherwise, you're gonna' REALLY injured your back that way.

  • @UIsTall

hmhm.. im not a powerlifter i just body build.. since i started using less weight and focusing on full motion ive gained loads more than normal. but when maxxing out i guess your giving it 100%.. 2 different ways of training powerlifting and body building

  • @JoshDG92 Same. I just like going 5x5 on the deadlift. The deadlift separates the men from the boys. Same with squatting. I stopped doing quarter squats and went to all down atg using zero to no weight, just for form. Felt good after that and I've gained alot going atg with much higher to moderate weight.

  • @UIsTall

i understand that atg is as far down as you can go, but what does 5x5 ? is that how many reps and sets you do ?... i dont go to the gym much at all. train at home 99%.. and man i need to start doing squats and dead lifts again..

  • @JoshDG92 i noticed u said that u started using less weight and gained more..well , my knee's cant take heavy weights anymore while squatting , do u think i could still add a little mass if i decreased the weight but increased my reps? thanks

  • @grumpyguts1967 Try using the legpress if squatting is hurting your knees. or you could get knee wraps :)

  • he sounds like Link hahaha!

  • he fails at deadlift big time

  • @thanya120 Thats still a deadlift. For his first time the forms not too bad considering how much weight. I personally believe form over weight but some days ya just have to go big or be a bitch.

  • what do these work out?

And as a first timer what weight should I start at to do this?

  • @NightmaresX111 deadlifts work out your whole body. That and squats are the best you can do for your body. Depending on how much you weight is how much you should start with. go for 8 reps and start at 100 pounds and go up depending on that. unless you weight 200 pounds but i don't think you do so start low.

  • good that your goal is to be the strongest you can be! something every man should strive for looking good should just be a byproduct of strength and power training

  • at 0:34 he looks naked

  • dude where the fuck are ur shoes bro

  • serious face at 45 sec

  • i have been having a lot of trouble perfecting my form on deads.

  • great lift bro

  • One thing I've always wondered is how these guys who have really never even properly trained the "big" lifts with adequate form and intelligent bio mechanics or focused on getting strong for that matter manage to be so muscular and photo worthy? It just baffles me that someone who didn't really put the hard work into the important lifts from the start was able to reach a physique that is far better than most other people's, even as misinformed and uneducated as he may be.

  • @Orch0l0des Training for powerlifting is completely different then training for bodybuilding... Thats why his physique is so good, he normally trains for appearance rather then performance. Which means high volume and isolation exercises rather then low reps of compound movements. Too say he didn't put in 'hard work' or is 'uneducated' is absurd, because he clearly has and is, but his goals are simply different then what yours seem to be.

  • @Graham7697 It's 'than', not 'then.'

  • Wow, good form scott. You're awesome brahhh

  • strong core!

  • when it comes to deadlifts, suddenly all the 70kg guys feel they have to say something about proper form, how bad it is for your back...cheating (you stupid? how dyou cheat a deadlift ey?) etc. You just know the fairies that post that sh*t dont lift more then 300pounds.

  • super saiyan

  • could've pulled more with better form but good job, don't turn it into a squat deadlift
