unfortunately we can not do a lot unless we help these ppl to get a better education and give them the opportunity to know a civilized world so they can see the difference and make a choise of what they want for them and their community.
@fcgwisconsin People do seek education and better opportunities all the time, they move away from their home and into overpopulated urban slums. Port-au-Prince had 3 million living in a city designed for 1.5 million. People were seeking opportunity to provide for their families. Why not focus attention and efforts on helping/teaching/educating the marginalized how to improve their rural communities? We can do a lot, its just a lot harder work.
