@ClayCutts I made a follow up video to this one recently marking 9 months of sobriety... check it out on my channel.. it is called "SOBRIETY - My Bumpy Ride on the Wagon"
I'm here... thinking of you, and accepting you always... I think you're capable of anything you set your mind to. You're such a strong and vibrant Man, and People like me love you to bits! You can do anything, TJ*. Hugs...
Yes it really really hurt me when he left, but i know that everything in life happens for a reason.. and maybe him leaving me was what i needed to open my eyes and see that alcohol had taken back over.
Tj I still think you are adorable and wish you lived in here so I could introduce you to my brother in law. You did this once you can so do it again!!!
Try running. Force yourself. After a while, when those endomorphins kick in and start to give you the runner's high, you will understand what I'm saying.
you're very brave to put this out there for the world to see. You can do this. Sometimes we have to scrape the bottom before we say...oh shit...I've got to fix this.
I am glad you aren't doing this to get your BF back because you would have been defeated from the start. You can't do this for anyone but yourself. You will probably get another BF while sobor simply because of the way you feel about yourself. You know how you can feel about yourself since you have been there. I suggest you get a closer support system like AA so you can go to a meeting and get support when it gets tough.
I went to an AA meeting when i quit last time but walked out half way through. It was all about god and religion and shit. Certainly not what i need.
And you're right about the BF thing. I am sure i will find someone when i am sober and back to that better kind of normal. I am really looking forward to being free of alcohol once and for all
TJ, you will always have my support for this issue in you life. I understand it, runs deep in my family. I remember when you had mentioned briefly that you could have just one drink because you were doing so well. I knew then you had fallen off the wagon. Any recovering alcholic will tell you that NO ONE in recovery can do that. You aren't "just one of those people" You are simply an alcholic.
Thanks.
Since this video i did have a slip..a moment of weakness but i am back on the wagon now and doing better than ever.
It's an ongoing thing.. i don't think we will ever be totally FREE of it.. we just have to be STRONGER than it.
Good luck to you, friend.

Try to substitute a good habit for a bad one. Get your high from running or jogging. It works.
chico945 2 years ago
i don't run! i hate exercise with a passion! but i'll try and think of another healthy thing to replace the alcohol.
thanks!

I remember very well the last time you did this.
You said what you were going to do, then you disappeared, and came back a few months later, MUCH smaller and much more lively, and you had done it.
I cant wait to see you like that again!
Maybe I'll join you this time!
