The man represents nothing, so therefore YOU have to bring your own meaning to it, trying to define what "spiritual connection" means to various people is like trying to define what "normal" is... frankly, dancing, partying and celebrating is actually spiritual to me. Meeting like minded people and having good moments with them is spiritual... running into people who have taken too many drugs to run away from something is... empty...
by burning the man, it's just an excuse for some people to trip on drugs so thetes no real spiritual connection unless your sober and really feeling the nature and what life brings to people. I'm glad that the art of Alex helps me through that realization
