USAF #18 BMT Graduation Fun in San Antonio

With the laundry issue how did that work far as keeping clothes to people who they belonged to? Did they label there clothes or what? Thank you in advance

@quishia you put your laundry mark on it. It's your first and last initials folllowed by the last four of your ssn. The best system we found that worked is having EVERYBODY ineach bay grab 5 or more peices of clothing and hand them out to people. What wew did was make a list of bed numbers and whos laundry mark belonged to that bed number, then everyone just handed out the laundry to the correct bed number. Being laundry cheif was the WORST job to have there--avoid it at all costs!

Congrats on making it through, we spoke a few times awhile before you entered and I was answering questions for you. glad to see you made it, just those hospital corners needs more edging to them and those laundry rooms a SUPER upgraded since I went through for sure. We had the regular sized machines and had to wait crazy amounts of times to get through. Did you have to stand out them in the AM while a TI yelled folding instructions at you? And what AFSC did you choose?

@Billyjrusaf When my brother graduated he paid for everything in San Antonio so yes, you have your bank cards by that time. It has been about 2 years since he graduated, but I don't see why that would change. :)

hey, not trying to ask stupid questions or anything but I've been thinking about joining AF reserves and was wondering how you like it now? and how did you begin at E-3? Thanks.

@unc1293 So far so good :) As a trainee we're all in trainee status--but I got stripes graduation day. So yeah, I started out as an E3 and got paid E3 pay grade throughout basic. This depends on the amount of college credits you have. I have a B.A. degree, if you have less than, I think it's 60something credits you can be an E2. I'm not sure what the exact amount of credits needed is. Hope that helps! Good luck to you!

You looked great in your uniform. Can you choose if you want to wear the Skirt or the Pants instead? How does that work?

@diversepremades thank you:) For the coin ceremony and graduation days the MTI chooses what you wear. Most of them choose pants for the females. However, on saturday and sunday when you are on base lib and town pass with your family you get to choose. You will learn all of the different uniform combinations you are allowed to put together. Personaly I like the skirt way more than the pants, plus it was so hot the skirt was cooler to wear.

@ChrisWithACam it was what I expected...but watching other people do it and just thinking about it is waaaaay different then actually being there and DOING it. It sucked, no doubt. But I'm glad I did it---though I can't say I'd do it again!
