Centenarians are generally created because of genetics, not diet, exercise, lifestyle, etc. People who live to be very, very old often have a history of longevity in their families. It's amazing that he still has all his faculties! There's almost always a general, progressive decline in mental acuity, memory, etc. after the age of about 75-80. He's an entire GENERATION after that age, and still has "all his marbles," as the reporter said. Go Walter!

Once, a bus driver had almost had a accident and so the bus suddenly went to a halt. An elderly man had lost his grip, dropped his cane, and it was difficult for him as he also had a package in his arms. There were people in their late twenties and mid fifties on that bus. Not one person, except for myself had offered to help him. Once, I had to tell a driver about all the kids that were forcing the elderly out of their seats. Prayer service was stopped while myself and others helped him and made sure he was OK, but not even his own family (sons, grandchildren, friends) even helped him up

Ha ha, after performing at several nursing homes in my area with my drama club, it was so funny and refreshing to see Walter zooming around his care home in his scooter. He has more energy and enthusiasm than most people I saw near Christmas! I'm so glad I wrote to him and got a letter back!

I've seen that picture of him in 7th Grade. Amazingly, its from 1907. I also know that he joined the railroad company in 1913, and got married in 1927. And this man is still alive today in the 21st Century.
