@fgygygy last interview of tite kubo I read said that this arc was indeed coming to an end, but then it will be followed by a mini arc of isshin past (when he was a shinigami, and how he lost his powers... there is speculation that isshin lost his powers by using a final getsuga tenshou, but he started to recover them after 20 years or so, so maybe if Ichigo loses his powers, one day he might be able to regain them) and then one final long arc (speculated to be related with hell or royal guards)

@AzAzDigiFan 1, ichigo is not a vastro lorde. vastro lordes are the final form of menos, which are made of thousands of hollows. ichigo is just a hollow in that form. and blowing a hole in his chest doesnt turn him into a hollow, its just ironic. its like when hollow ichigo took over the first time with byakuya, only he is pretty much dead and he becomes mindless, only protecting inoue by killing ulquiorra. its probablly due to the fights in hueco mundo that rapidly evolved his hollow powers.

I have a theory that Ichigo's inner hollow was affected by the cero Ulquiorra fired into his chest.

this is because

a)right after he did this is that this particular transformation happened

b)the part where his hole is has a sort of splash-formation, and is in the exact same place where Ulquiorra fired his cero

and

c)his hollow mask gains the same pattern on Ulquiorra's face (two stripes running down his face) when he uses it agains Yami

Remember that in the anime Ulquiorra is interested in Orihime for whatever reason, and has questioned her several times before this, so it mkes perfect sense that he would do so again now. I just CANNOT wait to see this in the Anime, because a) It is unfreakingodly EPIC, and b) I want the music from the last part of the anime episode where Ichigo fights Ulquiorra (and I doubt that is currently released).

no, its ulquiorra realizing human emotion and compassion. he didnt understand why ichigo cared so much about one person enough to risk his life to save her. he understands that as he dies. if you listen to his lines he talks a lot about the human heart and how he doesnt understand it. ichigo says something like you will never understand.

@katalina82695 well, actually, ulquiorra might be able to return. In the manga he says "you have to kill me or it will never end" I'm guessing that if a hollow is mortally wounded by another hollow, that first hollow returns to the cycle of life from which it came.

(in this case, a bunch of canibalistic hollows that would become menos, then adjugas, and finally, vasto lordes)

ether that, or they regenerate due to hueco mundo's high reigi (spirit particles)

But that's just my guess.

Well not really, many people who want this to be the case will believe it. But if you look closely and listen to wt ulquiorra says throughout the battles is that he does not understand human emotion, and why ichigo feels it necessary to save orihime. he does not understand the human heart and is puzzled at ichigo's fierce determination. orihime has always been very caring, even towards enemies so this is nothing new. Also at the end, as he vanishes he realizes what "emotions" are.

It's stuck on fillers is because people jumped on Bleach before Kubo was even done with writing the end to Soul Society Arc and without more story to go on they HAD to do fillers and because Japan doesn't take note of what we do, having actual seasons, taking breaks, they can only show 15-20 episodes of the real story now, then give us more fillers. THIS is the only anime to have the MOST fillers in ANY anime. If you want plots to move forward than protest for mangas to be finished first.
