1) Make two paths in opposite directions. If the paths become non-parallel at any point, then there is a building/unmovable obstacle in the way.

2) Pathfinding can see through fog of war and thus you can use these flaws in the pathfinding system to have faster scouting + knowledge of destructible rocks/objects.

I can't help but think that this is something Blizzard should change. It should be that your probes move accordingly to what can be predicted to be there based on what you have previously scouted, but things that have not yet been revealed should not be able to affect units' movements, since it's unrealistic for units to have information (and act on it) that you, the player, do not yet have.

Interesting, but you should have elaborated some more. I think I *sort of* understand the implications of what you are saying, but I am not really certain.

This is a frequent problem when explaining something to people - you got to make sure you explain EVERY STEP and its reasoning very, very clearly so that even retards can understand it, or you will lose most people somewhere along the way.

Believe me, I have been a GM of a raiding guild in WoW :)
