Whitney has left us with a precious lesson to learn that no matter how depressed one feels, instead of pill treatment, one should go yoga, meditation and devotion to overcome the pain and move forward.... I remember this performance and I was completely mesmerized at how beautiful and angelic she looked. Her voice and tone were on point and it was very emotional. I was completely elated that she gave a blockbuster performance....her performance so commanding you don't remember who else performed that night. The Whitney affect!!! Bravo!! Whitney Houston.
The voice was merely an instrument. The artistry was not simply in her ability to sing but in her ability to craft the instrument. What we have here is the mastery of the artist crafted this time not on the Stradivarius which was her voice, but on the simple harmonics of the lowly violin which her voice has become. But for once, someone else made her cry...:) Literally the 2 best female artists music has ever had the joy of having, but sadly one taken too soon. Whitney Houston will never be duplicated, nor will Reba. The Queen of Pop along with the Queen of Country...........can't say much more than that, besides class.
Her voice is fantastic in this video! . She's not a strong as it was but it was still there and would have come back with the vocal coaching she was doing ..it would have come back but sadly we will never know. This performance nearly reduces me to tears. "The Voice" is completely gone, but in its place is the magic and the soul that made Whitney Houston who she was. It was that soul that no person and no drug could take from her. Vocally this is only mediocre, but the emotion that is dripping off of every word proves that the diva still lived. So tragic to know we'll never see another one of these performances. May she rest in peace.

She is such an awesome testimony! I love her and everything she went through whether good or bad she was never too proud to tell ppl the truth! My heart breaks that in her last days she was tormented by the same struggles. She has shown that ppl have to continue to fight the same issues but most importantly, she needed a support group to help her, not put more pressure on her...I think that is what drove her to taking the Valium and sleeping meds...the stress was getting too much for her:( RIP
She is stronger now in Heaven than she ever was on Earth. She was able to triumph over her addictions. She was able to show us that she can still sing. Later this year, she will show us that she was able to still act. We didn't know that the strength she needed she could only get from the Divine.

Amazingly beautiful.. I hate that instead of appreciating her, people criticized her for not having the range anymore. Which all that pressure ultimately lead to her fall. That's hard to come out of the shadow of who you used to be. But for me, yeah the multiple octaves were nice but I loved how she sang it, how she delivered. She was amazing just whispering even without the range. Because no matter what she had it...she was it. And despite popular believe she didn't owe us anything..we wer

Dear Whitney, I have been devistated since your passing. I have not been myself at all, and I'm crying as I'm writting this. You ment a lot to me and whenever you would be on tv I would make sure to watch. Your songs kept me going thru tuff times. This song, I Didn't Know My Own Strength gave me stenght when I was close to a depression because of my stress full job. Your struggles in life mirrored the struggles in my life. See that is what I don't understand how come Justin Bieber gets millions of views on his Baby song and Whitney one of the best voice in the business and good lyrics get only under half a million views and we wonder why good talents are destroyed because nowadays we do not support good talent we go with what is popular even though it is crap like Justin Bieber. This performance nearly reduces me to tears. "The Voice" is completely gone, but in its place is the magic and the soul that made Whitney Houston who she was. It was that soul that no person and no drug could take from her. Vocally this is only mediocre, but the emotion that is dripping off of every word proves that the diva still lived. So tragic to know we'll never see another one of these performances. May she rest in peace.

@debisis Of course, she was still more naturally gifted then most. The technique that made "The Voice" was gone, though (her breathing were all wrong, etc). Even so, I still loved her.

She is such an awesome testimony! I love her and everything she went through whether good or bad she was never too proud to tell ppl the truth! My heart breaks that in her last days she was tormented by the same struggles. She has shown that ppl have to continue to fight the same issues but most importantly, she needed a support group to help her, not put more pressure on her...I think that is what drove her to taking the Valium and sleeping meds...the stress was getting too much for her:( RIP

She is stronger now in Heaven than she ever was on Earth. She was able to triumph over her addictions. She was able to show us that she can still sing. Later this year, she will show us that she was able to still act. We didn't know that the strength she needed she could only get from the Divine.
