@prooc Ummm, yea, only it's a classic, and if the college film school students can put together a better film, why don't they?? one of the dumber comments I've seen on youtube in awhile
The vehicles used were actually ex police traffic vehicles. These falcons were 351 Cleveland engines that were tuned on GTHO specs (later models were nearly all auto, dunno why). They were dubbed 'Candy cars" due to the striking decals when they were comissioned. The era of these vehilces was the biggest influence for this film. Long live the GT Falcon.
I can understand that this movie didn´t do well in the US. The american voices are not actors. Just listen to the Nightrider, the Toecutter, Johnny The Boy all of them sound terrible. I didn´t always catch what the australlian actors said but they could act.
@Hrdtop75 I concur , and theyve only gone an overdubbed Grgory`s girl ( an absolute institution in Scotland) with posh English voices, so that Americans can understand it. Its bloody not right!!
@Hrdtop75 I know, I concur! And theyve only gome and overdubbed Gregory`s girl (an institution in Scotland) into posh English, so that Americans can understand it! Its bloody not right!!!
How bad does this sound with the yank accents! Can't believe the yanks had to have a dubbed version because they can't understand English other than yanky english.
When I was a child in 1976,I went to the cinema to see korean movie with my parent and in the mid- time, I saw MAD MAX's trailer ad-movie and that gave me
the creeps and my hair was raised and
sent a chill to the marrow of my bones
due to MAD MAX car's speed because before that time, I never saw MAD MAX' car speed and have no any experiences.
I never forget in my childhood's remembrance about MAD MAX car's speed although in the movie in cinema.
Any one notice that this is the trailer for the Dubbed American version? No one sounds Like they do in the Original version! I've tried to watch this version but even Mel don't sound right They should all have Broad Australian accents. : ( Incredible film tho! : D
@chris85hitchman No he didn't, no one was killed during the making of the film, that was just a rumour. I read Grant Page's autobiography, ' Man On Fire ', and he refuted the rumour and said he had seen Glenn the stuntman recently and he was still fine. All he got was a headache. Grant was the stunt coordinator and one of the ' bikies' that went off the bridge, the other one was Chris Anderson. Cheers!
Another great film that I NEVER grow tired of!

Here's something sad.
The actor that played the "station master", Reg Evans died a couple of days ago in the Victorian Bushfires.
Sad loss for this area, he was a pretty colourful character around here.
RIP Reg.
