amazing,a time when the U.S.A knew how to fight a war O dumb george bush the greatest president in American history. what did he say what did he say.kiss your enemy ass hold his hand an just maybe he'll be your friend. remember Vietnam nation building does't work.
A P51 against any of the Japanese pilots in the Pacific in the early days of the war would not have been so successful, by the time we made it to Japan all the pilots were either kids or any able bodied man crazy enough to go up without proper training. The Corsair was more suited to go one on one with a good Zero pilot.
Great footage; It looked more like a turkey shoot. In 1945, were there any true veterans left in the Japanese Home Defense Air Corps? The Mitsubishi Zero was a notoriously agile aircraft, not as fast as the P51, but more agile. This footage shows the 51's lining up on the Zeros and Kates like they were fish in a bucket. Very interesting video and shows the horror of air to air combat. Kudos to our fly boys who dared it all to make it happen.
these japan fighters are so weak.

P-51 came out late so it's too advance for other fighters at that time.

What was the policy regarding firing on parachutes?

@55chh
Generally it was bad etiquette to kill a pilot who had bailed out, on the ground or otherwise.
