Sad to see Malev go. It was a great Eastern European airline to fly with, and its a damn shame I won't be able to use it to connect through Budapest when my friends and I head over to Montenegro this summer :(
The song is Malév's own audio identity which they have been using for some fifteen years now. It's first appearance was when Malév changed its livery in the early 1990s. Originally played on a concert piano, in recent years they have been using the electronic version universally. As far as I know - but don't quote me on this - it was composed by one of the greatest composers of electronic music, Gábor Presser.
just so you know i am actually Australian and both of my parents are British. I just think that many of the customers using Malev may not be fluent in english and if he spoke slower it may be easier for them to understand. They need to understand because safety is extremely important.
The thing is, this demo is always played twice, first in Hungarian, then in English, and the standard practice is that a third, albeit audio-only demo is played if the language at the destination is different from English and Hungarian. So on a Madrid flight you would get a Spanish audio-only, and on a flight to Amsterdam you would get a Dutch audio-only.
I'm sorry I called you an American, I meant no offence.
no problem. i totally get what your saying. but if it was just this video i still think it would be difficult for non english speakers to understand. i mean if the plane was going to madrid there may be heaps of people from other countries and they are more likey to understand english than they are spanish.
boaah, THAT is BAD character animation! I can't figure out, how airlines, which make millions of dollars, own aircraft worth also millions of dollars, cannot afford a proper character animation for such an important presentation?!
Put it this way... airlines maybe spending a little more money on YOUR security by spending a little less on crappy little safety demo's, which nobody ever really watches anyway.
Horvath, the people *ought* to watch these safety videos. "which nobody ever really watches anyway. " - Point the nobodies to AF358 - Everyone made it out alive, but the escape was hampered by people trying to take their stuff...

Only English? They have their own language.

Malev also has a Hungarian video - this one is the English one.

Another person who gave me a music sample said that Presser wrote the song.

the narrator speaks too fast.

I disagree. He speaks British English, so it may sound weird to Americans, but it's the correct pace.

This is safety demo, not a video game. Professional job

The characters dont need to be ''Super'' animated, you only need to understand what they are trying to tell you.

Okay, it's not that artistic, I don't think a more detailed presentation is needed.
