@lotwyo I'm just being neutral for this point because I'm quite really realizing that living of people born with those natures. They live in the outside place far from technologies and civilization so most of them are probably uneducated and born to be like that. You might think they are poor and suffered from this condition but not, they just be happy how to live sufficiently with MEALS they got.
How much could city people realize this seriously if they never touch feeling of BE WITH NATURE ?
@TheRainbowGoats Good thinking, but there is no refrigerator at home to keep the fish... Also, it would cost too much to buy the pulley and the set up...
That's INSANE but I would of done it smarter lol, put the rope over the top line and wrap it around both your arms and you can cruise no biggie even if you slip off, and you could carry TONS of fish, someone email this guy ;)
@OneCouraageous - The fish are still plentiful in the river for a reason. This guy has a decent work/life balance, he provides for his family, and he lives in a beautiful place. You and I are sitting at home commenting on other people's lives - maybe we need to rethink "getting ahead in life"
@OneCourageous Hey Mr Smart Guy, I was wondering why didn't BBC one come to your house and record your daily life documentary - Youtube Commenting - Human Planet, Couch Potatoes Series - BBC one.
Now, to build a pulley system parallel to the tightrope that drops fish he's caught into a bucket on the other side which has a lid that opens when the fish reaches that side. That way, he can maximise efficiency :D
Right, if he ever fell and still Hung on the top. That bottom wire would never stop shaking long enough before he lost his grip. My hats off to him !!!
@lucy9359 its not beside the point, building a house that is a few hundred feet from a raging river during the rainy season would be Dumb As Fuck. You're right that they should help him build a bridge or something, but THAT would be beside the point.
Feel free to keep posting dumb youtube comments though, you're making a difference.
@Silverweed that is besideds the point they could have still moved them to the other side...of course it is more interesting to make movies than it is to get involved in helping people live better!
@sixdaysfool - They have a high tech camera mounted on the bottom of a helicopter. It can zoom from 3 miles away with no loss in terms of quality of image apparently. It's similar to tech military helicopters use to target enemies from miles away, as I understand it. All I know is, I WANT one.
@sixdaysfool if you own the dvd, there is the footage of how they did it. they actually had to make the man walk in the wire couple of times before they get the perfect shot
@sixdaysfool yeah i always think the same thing... its crazy on these nature shows and shit... theres always someone there filming it... witnessing it... living it... so much amazing shit going on in the world that most people have no idea about. these cameramen and crew are so fortunate
@sixdaysfool At 0:24 you see a line to the right of him, on that one the camera goes back and forth in the same speed as he moves, controlled by a remote control.
@sixdaysfool Watch the documentary, at the end they show how they take these shots! They have a wire which is connected across with a camera attached to it, they just slide the camera up and down.
@sixdaysfool The BBC camera crew were able to get these shots by running a zip line of sorts across the river and manually role the and follow this brave and truly dedicated man with the camera. The only one risking his life here is the man walking the line.....all to feed his loving family!!
@sixdaysfool They use gyro-stabilized cameras and then for this particular shot there was an another rope parallel to the one used by Sam Niang. If you have seen other BBC nature shots as how the camera traverse from the ground to the canopy of a tropical forest - this is how they do. If I am not wrong BBC has pioneered these techniques. See BBC Human Planet Jungle - where to shoot the making of the Tree House. Any more question? Ask me :)
