Will the "Siege" game type be available? Siege was the best mode in Tribes 2....

Also I hope this game is generally based on Tribes 2.... That was the most advanced and the best. Generators, turrets, etc, should have a purpose and be part of the strategy. Don't base it around Tribes 1 or Vengeance.

General comment on all this: Tribes was around in 1999 as an online-only game made by Sierra. The scope of the game seems to be dumbed down a bit, such as the whole base building aspect, but this looks to be what I've been waiting for for years. Jet pack skiing is so epic.

now that its almost done I think its totally sucks. Overpowered weapons. What the hell is that Tennis ball shooting heavy Gun anyway?And the Sniper rifle? For me personally I suck and to this day have still never hit a single person with it.Yet people dont miss with it at all unless they feel like missing! Are people that good that they can hit people cross screen 3 times in 2 seconds where I suck so bad I cant hit someone in 100 shots? The people are smaller then the aimer! The game sucks ass

@abeeftec Your reason for saying this game sucks ass is because you cant kill someone? Weapons are pretty balanced from what i can tell, however some of the kits seem to be better than others. People do miss, a lot, but some people are better at leading targets than others. You simply suck, its as plain as that. Anyone playing this game for the first time will suck because the games concept is rarely seen. This is not a game someone can just jump into and expect to start out great.

Personally, i have not played any other tribes games, but from what i've been seeing on the forums and in game, Tribes ascend is NOTHING like the other tribes games save for the high speed gameplay and disks. And there is rarely a cheat, if you play in the North American west servers, look me up, names MrBuddy, and i don't need cheats to rank 1-3 every match.

Ok I would like some clarification please because I am tired of seeing all these comments that Halo copied Tribes in some way and I watched and played the first Tribes WAY before halo came out and I don't see how anything was copied at all. Guns totally different, Gameplay totally different and if they where going to copy the game why would they way 4 games into the Halo series to bring any abilities or Jetpacks to the game? halo was basically a dumbed down version of tribes without jetpacks, for console players. the fight scheme for tribes is far too sophisticated to play effectively on a console controller, because you need to be using flight, aiming, zooming, firing and self-healing all at once. once the halo players bring this to their pc, they won't go back. it's too good.

@shankbone01 This is true, but it doesn't mean Halo's necessarily a bad game, especially with the addition of Jetpacks and other tech abilities in Reach/CE Anniversary. Tribes kicks ass, but Halo isn't simply some failed clone. It's still a blast for console AND PC gamers.

Halo is still among the top FPSs on the PC to this date according to Xfire. Since the multiplayer on most PC FPSs dies after about 2 years, that there are nearly 1,000 players still on Halo 1 PC--a 2003 game--is impressive.
