  • i agreed witt Peter Schiff!!!

  • The only way to defeat the Republican Party is to realize it doesnt exist, neither does democratic or libritarian or any of that crap, they only party that does is the peoples party, the general wants and needs of the population is the only party, all the others are just seeking power, until someone says, lets make a system where everyone @ all times has input and access to all information of the gov they are just another facet of the evil. When they put themselves into a label they lie

  • Awesome video!!!

  • 1:45 THE SIXTIES IN REVERSE

We will atone for the sins of our fathers, or sink lower.

"Self-governance leads to independence." -Adolf Hitler

  • I think LP and GOP can stand together or closly.LP's policies are always idealistic, while libertarians in GOP can be more realistic. Those young Libertarian politicans can practic their skills in LP,then join GOP when they are muture.

We can't change the people's ideas overnight, through the time,LP can be GOP's strong back up and thinking tanks.

  • bull !! you'll never get the republican party to change. what you'll get is a ron paul look a like then he'll turn into a ronald ragan. this is the good cop bad cop scam.

If this scam is successful with harden criminals does the american public stand a chance. the deciption will work to the end with is soon . dems played good copin the last election now it's the repub's turn

  • hope not

i heard Ron Paul's father was a Freemason and it wouldn't surprise me if he was in on it, too

And people say he has hurt the Illuminati agenda etc. etc. but what if we have the wrong idea about what their agenda actually is???

  • RIGHT ON!!

  • Peter Schiff is wrong here because you will end up seeing (just like what Gerald Celente stated) that around 2012, an emergence of the importance of voting Independant will take the rise

  • but that is really wut peter is trying to tell us......he is not disputing the rise of the LP he is merely saying that by the time it reaches numbers high enough to make a difference it will b too late......i am a member of the LP and i agree with schiff that the best way for the LP to take our country back is to take over the republican party from within

  • Peter Schiff is sadly right. 3rd parties have one hell of a hard time under our current system. Ron Paul has talked about when he ran as a libertarian, he spent most of his money just fighting to get on ballots. The two big parties have set up election laws to punish 3rd parties. Also the media makes 3rd party candidates look like nutcases. This is all by design. The only way to change anything currently is to infiltrate the Republican Party with libertarians.

  • I met Peter Schiff at the Dinner at theRally for the Republic. I am a little dissapointed by the video. Peter is obviously slightly skewed by the fact that he wants the Republican nomination, so it's not like he can go on record and say "Vote Libertarian" whether he would or not.

I do not want to spend the next 4 years hoping Republicans aren't douche bags. I will spend my time making the best 3rd party we can, maybe it's 10 years down the road, but we will be the party of principle.

  • Us, Ron Paul, Libertarian Republicans have pretty much taken over most of the important leadership positions within the Republican Party in Minnesota...it has been a Revolution from within...and we have just begun to fight. I suggest, that other Libertarians do the same. If you don't succeed, then you can go back to being a 3rd Party. Don't get me wrong. I think there is the potential of a 3rd Party upset, but without a distinquished and communicative leader, the party will not likely go far.

  • I was supporting Ron Paul at our GOP State Convention in Texas, but Ron Paul was treated like crap by most of the neo-cons in the party -- and even treated worse in other states WERE DELEGATES WERE STOLEN FROM HIM.

The guy was right - THE LIBERTARIANS MUST BE THE NEW 2ND PARTY-- THEY WILL GET NO WHERE IN THE GOP.

  • Ron Paul was not treated well at our GOP State Convention in West Virginia either. He had a lot of support from our Republicans as well as our "independent" voters, but was treated poorly. The GOP should be ashamed.

  • Schiff, shouldnt try to go into politics. He should become rich and use his wealth to influence politicians....only the RICH have the power to change.

  • I love Shciff, and I hope his strategy works for him.

I recently read words of a wise person, and I want to repeat them: The 2 party system is no longer made up of liberals and conservatives. The 2 real parties now are made up of those who gain money and power via production, and those who gain money and power via political means.

  • Peter is pumping himself. His anti LP comments are self serving, self promotion of his planned attempt to run for the Senate as a Republican. His greatest fear is that the LP will run against him, so he's trying to talk the LP down.

The LP needs to make it clear that they WILL absolutely run a candidate for Senate in 2010, in CT.

The only way that Peter Schiff can win is to run as the LP candidate in a 3 way (or more) race against a loser R and a D and anyone else.

  • Peter is right. Libertarians think they can defeat Reps and Dems.

To win, Libs must coopt the Reps.

  • The Libertarian Party can come to power if they "plant seeds" now. They need to start by raising money and getting their candidates into the House of Representatives. The next step would get to get into the Senate---which is almost impossible. If they can do that, THEN nominate a presidential candidate. It will take decades to do this. Most Americans are afraid of REAL CHANGE. They love government handouts too much.

  • Peter! You can be the 1st Libertarian member of Congress. Run for the House of Representatives!!! GO FOR IT! America needs you!

  • Peter is right.

Just as the socialist wing of the Democratic party took control, the libertarian wing of the Republican party needs to take control to offer an alternative.

No third party can beat out the 2 party system.

  • 666sigma is right.

  • TWO WORDS: BOB BARR

He is a former off the wall, socially conservative Republican. His flip flops on social issues have been politically motivated. My guess is that he is now pro-choice and pro-gay marriage, too.

Ron Paul is MUCH CLOSER to a Libertarian than Bob Barr.

However, the religious wing of the Republican Party will never support a Libertarian leaning Republican. Any transformation of GOP will take time, but it will come about much faster than trying to build a 3rd party.

  • Peter Schiff is a hero! Prepare for hyperinflation or go broke. Signup for the free NIA newsletter at: Inflation . us

  • Democrats talk a good game, but once they're in office, they f--k up the country.

  • Expel the NeoCon poison from the Republican party?

    What a GREAT idea!

If they won't honor their oath to defend the 9th & 10th Amendents, THROW THE BUMS OUT!

  • At one time what Schiff says may have made sense, but GOP followers are now down to about 20% - so the Libertarian Party can & should replace them.

  • Where are you getting your bullshit statistics from? I can guarantee you that there will never be a president of the united states that's in the libertarian party, and that's coming from a libertarian. The only way we can win is if we change the republican party into the libertarian party.

  • The reason Libertarians can't win is because there is not enough Libertarians in Congress and the Senate. What Libertarians are trying to do is push on person into an exclusive club and then have the one person run for the head of the exclusive club! Doesn't anyone else see this? Then they sit around in places like this video depicts and blame each other and make excuses. Lead from the front and people will follow!

  • I like this idea of infiltration, but my main concern with it is that we associate ourselves too closely with the Republican Party. Pretty much everyone my age hates it with a passion--as do I--because it has no credibility thanks to the past 8 years and is not worth saving.

  • However, I think we may be able to defeat the stigma as long as we expose ourselves to both liberal and conservative audiences, and when we do so also make an effort to minimize the use of the "R" word while at the same time maximizing that of the "L" word. That's because as long as we stand for principles above all and regardless of party lines, I think we shall win.

  • Agree. It should be much easier in New Hampshire, thanks to the Free State Project.

  • peter schiff is right. he articulates himself so well, there can be no real opposing response.

  • peter schiff is a legend

  • Actually there is an example of a non republican non-democrat who won in the senate. He ran in the democratic primary...lost the primary and then ran independently and won....im talking about lieberman...maybe schiff can consider that strategy

  • Peter Schiff is right you have to run under the know parties, because people are too controlled by left-right paradigm. You can only fix the system by using the system within.

  • The Republicans and Democrats are both rotten parties. Unless we get real change in the United States, the country is doomed. The U.S. is over regulated, over built, and bloated. Americans will wake up when they feel the pain, it is a pity people can't learn until reality hits them. People can't learn without being punished. All empires collapse. They reach their zeniths, and they all decline into the annuals of history.

  • repubs are already destroying themselves from within. Neo-cons are just as bad as high spending liberals.

  • Peter Schiff for Congress !

  • The repubs and dems were hijacked back in the day and now is the time to take one back. We most begin to take control of the power centers.

    Peter is correct... again.

  • peter is planning to infiltrate the republican party because it is weak and has not direction, thanks to Bush. republican party is disillusioned and ripe to take over. peter is planning to convert those republicans to libertarians.

he is right, our two political party system is too entrenched. peter is planning a virus into the republican party.

  • no he wants to kill a neocon virus in republican party. and it was not Bush, but our friend Rockefeller who torpedoed Goldwater and it all went downhill from there.

  • u sounded a lot like jonathan libez or george4title.

  • Didn't you guys hear what Peter said? Is it so hard to understand that third parties don't have any credibility with the media and their viewers right now? The problem is people like yourselves that can't see past parties. They'll see the Libertarian label next to Ron Paul's or Peter Schiff's name and write them off as 'wasted votes'. At least they vote though, which is necessary if people like Ron Paul and Peter Schiff are going to be able to change things.

  • Peter

Your trying to heard cats. They still do not get it.

  • the Greens in Germany did it, but political parties don't run things.

  • germany is not a two-party-system. you only need 5 % of the vote to be in parliament. once on the national stage for 4 years you can build the party from there. they existed for decades and still never got much more than 10% of the vote.

under the US system you'd never have heard from them.

  • Republicans need some "Act Right" in their lives before a person like myself climbs aboard.

Keep pushing the truth P. Schiff!!

  • If the United States had a proportional voting system the Libertarian Party wouldn't be in this mess.

  • thecountry was and IS ready for a message like Ron Paul or Peter Schiff tried to deliver, the problem is the power of THE MEDIA. They wouldnt let Ron Paul even debate. The media has as much control of the parties.

  • Republicans ought to change course after what transpired over the last 8 years.

Before Bush and the Repub. congress passed the Prescription Drug Act, when was the last time that a Repub. President and congress passed an entitlement program?

They raised spending acrosss the board. They tried to spend like Dems. And guess what? Repubs are still viewed as heartless, as starving the government, don't care about the middle class. cheap

They should stick to what they're percieved to be.

  • splenderfan: You Said It!!!! I've been sayin the same thing. As soon as Bush was in office he tried to appease dems. He got T (hiccup) Kennedy to help him write some bills: "no child left behind," etc. Still right away, the Dems were on his ass HATING and SMEARING, right from the start. Dumass shoulda known they'd hate him no matter what he did to "reach across the isle."

  • karenbcz22, you're saying that you will never vote for a Republican, even if he has Libertarian views like Ron Paul? Aren't you engaging in the same partisan politics that got us into this mess? I think you should seriously reconsider your position. Vote on principles and ideas, not on party.

  • I think Peter Schiff AND Ron Paul could start a movement ... THE RISE of the Libertarian Party.

Why can't we have a 3 party system.

The 2 party system is clearly a big fat FAILURE!

  • yeah, let's change the political system before getting in power, so we can get in power. does that make sense?

every country with that kind of system (personal vote, majority wins all) has only 2 parties.

  • Voter Libertaian.

I personally, will NEVER vote for a republican.

    Never!

    I'd kill myself first.

  • Such a loss for a petty matter. You have been convinced there is difference in the Parties? Sad. They say what is expected to get to position, and ignore it. If you can't see that in Obama's rhetoric, you are lost. We need representatives of the constituents that vote. Not lackeys for 2 shadow governments, lobbyists, special interests, international elites by any name, & selfish profit. Dump both parties, regardless of your affiliation last year... find honorable men..or we are all toast.

  • I agree! DUMP BOTH Parties!

    Vote Libertarian!

Next election, I'm not voting for a Dem or a Repub.

  • Y vote period if you know its a rigged game...to vote period is silly.

no vote is the only vote.

  • If you're too lazy to look at individual candidates, and you'd prefer to just go by a group label, sure. But again, that's not very libertarian, is it?

  • please do not kill yourself. At least, go on suicide watch.

  • Peter, pls stop saying "right?" at the end of your sentences.

    It ruins your message.

    THANK YOU!!

  • Peters no fool and aint scared to say it like it is.

"he had support til the end"

Very strong message there. Plus RP raised the most money from the public and mostly thru the Internet. So what does that tell us about the public and RPs message? Tells me that anyone that cared enough to find out about him and listen saw the good sense he was saying.

My god im even studying Austrian economics now and buying out the Mises shop.

Anyone have an idea where to find the full speech?
