  • Very nice Jonathan (two thumbs up)

  • @ASW8055 Thanks for coming along for the ride Alan!

  • Crazy potential on the high desert. Beautiful flight. Middle of flight looks as though you spent a lot to time in "No Mans Land". I could not see the little strip of paved road anywhere.

Trying to get oriented here.... Was that the Permenente Plant at the start of the video?

  • @menamiketrx That's Mitsubishi Cement Corporation. There have been some pretty amazing flights from this launch. I'm happy just to get up and out of Lucerne Valley and maybe capture a little of the experience on video, thanks.

  • GREAT VIDEO JONATHAN

  • @TheSwingglider Thanks!

  • Just in case everyone spends the whole time watching the corner of the control frame instead of the nice scenery, as I did :-) Jonathan loses his GPS at 8:24. Backup lanyard (like you get with digi cameras & never use) will save you a fortune JD. Keep up the good work.

  • @paintfly2 I now have a lanyard on my 76S. I could have easily had one on my lost 60CSx and learned an expensive lesson.

  • Jonathan, what are the modifications you have been done on your Covert. I have one too, bought it at the Race & Rally. It was designed for somebody else, but fitting me well, «dixit Jeff Shapiro». Did'nt have time to fly it before I bought it. But I have the upper security strap inside cutting my floating ribs (the last down) during the flight. Francois

  • love everything especially the music

  • @Ivanglide Thanks! That song is a little-known classic. I have a video in the works from Tuesday's 80-mile team, dogleg flight from San Diego to Palm Desert. Can't wait to get it edited but we are in the middle of XC season so I have flying to do. ;-)

  • Hey Jonathan, how come you don't fly anymore with your Wills Wing Covert ? Nice flights by the way...

    Francois

  • @francoisveronneau It's in the shop for modifications. I'll have it back soon. Thanks!

  • Oh no he lost an instrument !!! Did you notice it when it fell?

  • @wrcummings I only noticed it after I carried the glider to a breakdown area. I discovered where it happened by watching the video.

  • @6btl6 Thanks. You see a cement plant where they mine an ingredient for concrete. Later my GPS fell off. I wore out some parts on my racing harness and it took me a long time to get around to sending the shell for repairs. I also like the cocoon in hot weather. Locating thermals comes from experience and study. There a some good books on the topic.

  • Hello NMERider, as always good music (a long time without listening to Mike Oldfield) and good video but especially what a beautiful flight and by the way, which is the idea to put reflective tape on the keel?

  • @mvent2009 Thanks. The tape is to help powered aircraft see me sooner than later.

  • @NMERider Thanks... Good Idea...!

  • Great, and better music.

    Fernando

  • @ferxs50 Thanks. I've had that song in the back of my mind for a long time.

  • nice flight !! thanks for taking me along!!!

  • @drmwvrhg I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. If I didn't do the videos I'd forget the flights. I have to take myself along for the ride too.

  • top vid

  • @thebrackster Thanks!

  • What electronics did you drop just before landing?

  • @mirageg4 Garmin 60CSx. I have the coordinates of its trajectory. I'm offering a $50 reward for it's safe return.

  • INSPIRING as always. Love the music as well. Many thanks.....

  • @waterbrother007 Thanks. I've been waiting for an opportunity to use that Mike Oldfield song.

  • Congratulations on 42-mile XC flight!

  • @macosx13 Thank you. It was a challenge.
