Mike Noyce, 21, got involved because he took guitar lessons from Vernon when he was in high school. Of the experience, Noyce says, "I stopped taking lessons from Justin after a while. After I stopped taking lessons, we started hanging out [socially] and that's when I really started to feel like I was getting a lot out of it."
@jennysendrey I'm 69 years old and just discovered Bon Iver a week ago. What a wonderful find.
This will make my last years on The Planet a joy. With the falsetto, it's not as if it's "Justin" singing, but Justin channeing "The Voice," the universal voice. Thank you, Bon Iver.
Thank you for posting this. I caught the tail end of this song on Letterman last night and it took me about 3 seconds to fall in love with this song. The Late Show website will probably post the video very soon, but I didn't want to see the whole song performed. Powerful voice, powerful melody, powerful lyrics. I have a new fave!
Maybe. After posting my comment I thought -- maybe he's just talking about his harmonies on the record, making a comment about the artist, not this particular performance.
i saw them at the queens hall in edinburgh this year - really was one of the most beautiful moments i've ever experienced. mikey sang simple man and it was amazing.
the difference is the audience. When I lived and caught many shows in New York, the audiences felt priveleged and were very respectful of the artist's and generally held the mindless conversations for the breaks.
Now that I'm in Austin I still see a lot of shows, but the people attending are more interested in yappin' and drinking than enjoying the talent that is before them.
