  • full streams and split lines

  • someone please explain how jared letos face got in the suggestions. I'm taking out my anger on a notepad, plastic bags, fruit, action figures, laundry, no.2 pencils, teen people magazine and other nonsensical low weighted objects to keep myself from searching for him and beating him to a pile of bloody pulp.. Why must this come between me and 9:12 of pure gratification...

    the world is lost

  • I feel...alone.

  • @aceking007 i know that feel bro

  • I was living my own life, then this song started living my life

  • I first heard about I Will Destroy You two years ago sitting in a book store. Listened to this every day! I have never felt so calm in my life when listening to them! They ROCK!

  • Emotions we feel beyond our understanding..

We're all longing for a way out that doesn't seem to exist, or we just can't find.

  • Great description and tags. Kudos to you! =)

  • Holy shit ballz

  • holy shit that awesome

  • These guys where one of the most amazing live acts ive ever seen in my life.:)

  • yeah San Marcos

  • I was introduced to this masterpiece by a close friend around 4 years ago. I have now experienced the beauty of post rock from Mogwai to Explosions in the Sky, from The Album Leaf to Daturah, from Leech to Red Sparowes, from God is an Astronaut to The Evpatoria Report, from GY!BE to Mono and many many more.

  • @muraliavarma Try Tides from Nebula

  • Awesome song... love when the drums come in... ridiculous power.

  • Everytime I listen to this song I feel pressure on my chest and usually start to cry. I don't know why, but it's just so powerful.

  • This sound way too much like K-Hálft Óhljóð by Múm.

  • whenever i get stuck writing, I go outside and listen to this music. Incredibly inspirational

  • I'd call instrumental atmorock, but idk, this is just so amazing.

  • Every time this song is finished i get sad:O Incredible!

  • I cried to that song the first time I listened to it because I found it to be so amazing. I still think so and I still barely can hold back the tears...

  • I listen to this when im stoned

  • amazing. just straight up amazing.

Just a thought, if these guys made a song feat. dan smith of listener, I think it would be something cool to hear.

  • This made me cry

  • @Sheenaniganz lol weak

  • I love this and explosions in the sky the best out of post rock :)

  • probably the most beautiful post-rock song I have ever heard. And I've heard a lot.

  • The only bad thing about this song is that it wasn't 15 minutes longer...

  • 2 Words Describe this Song...Fucking Epic.

  • this band is definitively up there with Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros and God is and Astronaut

this is an amazing song for transporting yourself to a whole new time or place and can carry your mind somewhere new or old

very inspiring and sad at the same time

  • too late to destroy me.

  • If I saw this live...I would just break down. And cry.

  • 6 people are stuck with 2 legged workhorses.

  • Lol a minecraft video sent me here

  • This song is so amazing. When you are at the most emotional points in your life, this song connects with how you feel. This band is truly inspiring. Word's cannot express their music. This Will Destroy You - Best Post Rock band

  • God!!!

  • omegle sent me here...

  • this and Evpatoria Reports' ''Taijin Kyofusho'' ..it's like sex to the ears..

  • dude, wat?

  • Heard this band on Pandora, as part of my God is an Astronaut station. Everything I've heard from them has been amazing! Love this song.

  • does anyone know what the sound is that seems to be worked in with the drums all the way through. kinda like a grinding sound ? Ive been trying to recreate this in FL studio and cant work out how.

    Thanks in advance.

This kind of musicc has inspired me to have a go myself for a bit of fun.

  • @simonheartscake its a glitch style drum kit. i can do it in reason but not sure how to do it in fl studios. have a look at tutorials on glitch drums? x

  • my all time favorite song

  • This song realy takes you away from everything. Feel the freedom that you have in your thought... Feel these thoughts which release you from everything that binds you in this world... I believe there's something more... There is a spirit that is full of freedom... Where you can be...Be your self and release your soul into the spirit... Just be...

  • still loving it...brings tears to my eyes every single time. thanks for uploading

  • this is a song to fall asleep listening to over and over..

  • Outstanding. Nothing else to say.

  • Fucking.Amazing.

  • Thank you for uploading this song, I had no idea that this band even existed and no I am completely in love with their music.

  • Amazing<33

  • I was having a bad day at work until I remembered this song existed.

  • I really shouldn't listen to stuff like this in work. Within a few minutes I'm transferred from my desk to the middle of a field on a warm sunny day with my arms out-stretched and a pleasant breeze brushing against me. I start to spin around and watch the world go by as I fall down on the grass in pure bliss and then dream about my loved ones and how much they mean to me.

  • @PSNFodder007

What you really shouldn't do is take Acid before work, man.

    Well actually, you should.

And actually listening to this when doing that would be good too.

And actually this that this that that this what?

    Oh fuck.

  • this is what passion sounds like.

  • I feel horrible for anyone that hasn't experienced this music, for the people cursed to radio stations and stale hip hop artists releasing trashy singles every week, when there is true music and beauty right here.

  • @Anon41264 Completely agree with you!! It just amazes me how the majority of people don't listen to anything other than what shitty radio stations force down their throats!

  • if yall like dis song check out Twilight by Glider, its a much smaller band i stumbled upon but great nonetheless

  • This sounds like a song used in some academy award winning film.

If I ever became A director I would definitely call these guys up and use this song because it so great and captures a lot of emotion.

  • As a matter of genre, this is called "post-rock", not "psychodelic rock". Although post-rock tends to be psychodelic sometimes...

  • Instrumental poetry. Flawless.

  • magic

  • Music shouldn't have this effect on me...

  • was out one night, high as fuck, parked up in the middle of nowhere, put this song on and lay on the car bonnet, watching the moon. the clouds floated past seemingly in time with the music, and i just lay there for the whole song. as the song drew to the end, the clouds all cleared and the moon was the only thing you could see. and it ended on 22:22. one of the weirdest, most moving experiences i've ever had from a single song.

  • ... As soon as i came across this, i fell in love straight away ....i sat here listening to it, And ive never felt so far away from the stress and pain filled world we live in... The things music like this can do to you.. is just, truly spectacular, .. It doesnt just effect your mind, and heart... it changes your life

  • 5:37, I love how this static background sound becomes a part of the sublime layering. One of the best post-rock songs I ever heard.

  • one of the best post rock band i discovered recently

Search "So above so below - Remembrance of things past"

    :)

  • @The19dreams wow " post rock"? You're dumb.

  • Check "explosions in the sky". that's plymouth rock for this genre

  • @INFlNID33 Explosions in the sky is a GREAT band!

  • i was watching a video for scary dairy it was a time laps thing and i heard the song on it and i just fell in love with it and now that i listen to it like actully get to hear al of it i just hear an inspiration for life in my head this is an increadible song

    great job :)

  • "Psychedelic rock" is so bad taags for this music, it takes you to other world, full of peace and inspiration, flying around and seeing the nature as it was in the past without human, free as wind.. Nothing psychedelic, just high, inspiring and eargasmic song.. <3

  • @BboyIrock

Hi! Thanks for your words. Guess, you're right. I normally don't agree to the almost used "popular genres" in music style definition. So, if someone takes the term "psychedelic" in this way, well, then he maybe would expect something else like that, thats right.

But in my very own understanding, music of this kind is very clearly music, that has an effect in my/your? brain, which is not better to be explained than a psycholocigal effect. So, this is why i tagged "psychedelic".

  • @Arminchen as far as i'm aware, they label themselves as a "post-rock" group...as good as any label, imo.

  • @Arminchen i wouldn't call this psychedelic.. ambient yes... instrumental post rock yes... psychedelic no.

  • @Arminchen You realise psychedelic genres refer to psychedelic drugs, like weed, lsd etc..

  • @BboyIrock Absolutely right! :)

  • @BboyIrock wow, thats corny

  • @firewolfstone that's life :)

  • 4:25 onwards....orgasm.

  • I've been listening to god is an astronaut and if these trees could talk for some time now, but this seems like a whole new dimension to post rock.. love this song..

  • At first I thought the name "This Will Destroy You" was funny for a band. Now it's just accurate.

  • Check out Inner City Lights

  • Dude... the fact that you uploaded this song... makes you the biggest badass alive... thanks.

  • It destroyed me.

  • It sounds like the world went through a catastrophe, and now the remaining survivors are going to rebuild society once more.

  • This is aftermath of war music. Epic!

  • yessss i like this cause i love sigur ros

  • This is one beautiful way to be destroyed. Wonderful song

  • Awesome

  • please check out IT MAY NEVER END (do a google as YT might not give the right result)

    Post rock from Aus

  • 3 people were destroyed by this.

  • it's not that I dislike this...but aren't the sounds of post rock instrumental bands sound too similar these days?

  • @movoning it does not matter they all good

  • @shalke08 I doubt. I personally have only found a few that are good.

  • woah this is different but i like it

  • Where is the LOVE button????

  • wow....simply wonderful!

  • this is so epic, powerfull....there are 3 def people in the world

  • this is so epic, powerfull,

  • This song is hypnotic. Incredibly talented band.

  • I think this song should be called "This is not the end" or something. Fits just after every big disaster in a sad sweet way :)

  • Don't worry the shivering skin effect will disapear after 20 seconds you've heard the song.

  • i love post-rock so much <3

  • listen for a minor reflection, the american dollar, the album leaf

i love these kind of music , so inspiring,

  • @wstin

Hey man, thanks for this two tips - it seems that both of them are really worth it!

    Great! Thank you very much!

  • @Arminchen Those were actually 3 bands he listed. Album Leaf are really good, I was at their concert about a year ago.

  • @wstin, also - explosions in the sky

  • It's better without vocals unless it was

some type of trance goth voice, that would be niffty.

  • this will destroy you are epic, and nothing less.

  • check out the 'myspace' of this band... they are coming to a town near mine , so i'm gonna see them sunday jeah...smoking weed and spacing out

  • listen to low in the sky !

  • Can anyone tell me where I can download good samples like they use in this?

  • Great....

  • This song always touches me some where very far hidden if not already nearly lost. As if a dream came true, died in it, then went to a better... more calming place. Life itself wrapped into an echo of emotion & gratification. TWDY & EITS are definitely choice instrumentals.

  • @stonerkev IF you haven't heard of HAMMOCK check them out as well, they're a mix between ambient/post-rock..and are incredible as well :)

  • Vielen, lieben Dank fürs Hochladen!

    Einen wunderschönen Tag allen miteinander!

  • the two dumbasses who disliked this video/song should be shunned from society.

  • why are these guys so underrated? oh wait its because explosions in the sky cam like a year before them witch made them look like rip off even though there not

  • I think Explosions actually formed in 1999.

  • @chumbscrubber42 in the end all these bands take elements from Isis and Neurosis...

  • ! it makes me day dream !

  • Thank you, I have been waiting 3 years for this song to turn up on youtube.

  • This sound never gets old.

  • Just like their other songs... I feel like I have to cry when I listen to this. It does something. Strings a cord, beats on a drum... it does something to me. I just close my eyes... and let my mind imagine. And then the tears start.

But I'm never quite sure why.

  • @OrangeStainedGlass

    you and i both.

    it's really unexplainable.

    but, i love the feeling.

it doesn't always have to be a sad song to make you cry,

it can be any type of song. obviously.

    :)

  • listen to Vessels- they will blow your mind in a similar fasion. also worked with TWDY producer John Congelton on their own material. just beauty.

  • My top 5:

    1. Explosions In The Sky

    2. Godspeed You! Black Emperor

    3. This Will Destroy You

    4. Mogwai

    5. 65daysofstatic

But lets be realistic, Is it even possible to rank such beatiful and extremely powerfull music?

  • This is by far the best piece of music i've heard in a long time <3 !!

  • This sound formed jizz in my mouth.

  • This is, without a doubt, one of the best Post-Rock songs of all time.

    It's just....epic.

  • @ratjoker936 I really do agree. It's extremely inspiring, at least to me :)

  • @melodic218 Yeah! This song is...AWESOME! Can't stop listening to it.

  • cannot beleive such a song is possible

  • To me, the beginning of this song represents being down on your luck, or a struggle in life. As the song progresses towards the middle and end, it makes me feel as if you can get through whatever your life throws your way. Real music like this can do wonderful things. Maybe I'm looking to much into it, but that's just my point of view.

  • 9 minutes of awesomeness

  • So good (: anyone else think the main melody is similar to the Shinra theme from FF7?

  • check out Scottish band The Gothenburg Address and Scottish band The Ritalin Kids....

  • if you like this will destroy you. listen to Amos val

  • love it! take a couple of minutes and this music will reveal you to yourself. <3

  • what's this???

  • It's great! Nothin more!

  • @Arminchen nothing less than the standards for perfect music.

  • this is post rock my friend best music ever

  • @parafreak92

    that's a stupid question.

    the answer is quite simple,

    This is beyond AMAZING.

  • @parafreak92 If you felt that U had to ask what this was........

I truly recommend that you spend the nest 6 months in a 'padded room' in a deep meditative and contemplative state. After U have had your first moment of enlightenment then please come back here and play this tune again and I believe you will finally understand just what it is you are listening to ! :) Peace

  • Post-Rock at its greatest, I dont think Ill ever hear an instrumental as powerful as this song.........Breathtaking.........

  • @02188225 Perhaps Gary Moore - The Loner. Totally different, but also brilliant.

  • Sooo goood...but I think "Threads" is my favorite

  • highly emotional, in a positive way.

  • best song ever done

  • ya can't beat this song, it's just incredible

  • ok time for some advertising : i think people who enjoy the depth of this will also love the later work of a band called BREACH...u can find some of their songs like "diablo" or "big strong boss" here on youtube. check out their last album "kollapse" its mindbreaking.

  • Very nice. If you like this, I strongly suggest you listen to 65daysofstatic. Imagine this but with explosive, euphoric industrial riffs and a lot of IDM as well.

  • Hey, thank you for this hint! I listenend to it, and i like it indeed. Cool!

    Greetings

  • @Arminchen "Drove Through Ghosts To Get Here" "Retreat! Retreat!" "23kid" "Radio Protector" and "Massive Star At the End of It's Burning Cycle" are all amazing songs by 65DaysOfStatic

  • I play this song super freaking loud and let it rattle my windows, so powerful and emotional.

  • holy shit, did i feel this song.

it sort of sucked out all my insecurities hiding underneath my thick skin and danced around my head, reminding me of who i truly am and that i cannot escape. truly powerful and haunting

  • This makes me want to cry but it also makes me feel a little better....does that make sense?

  • i know how u feel

  • these guys remind me a lot of Explosions In The Sky

  • God is an astronaut~!

  • How incredibly beautiful.

"A Three Legged Workhorse"? The song's atmosphere & mood evoke sympathy from me. However, sympathy for whom? Or for what? I would like to think it not a person, but rather something more under-appreciated, more "miniscule". I don't think that every piece of music should be affixed to human drama & emotion.

Then again, I speak hypocritically... Music is something that varies between every single individual. Make of it what you will. Again, beautiful music <3
