  • Hes still up there today!!!!

  • Collapse the glider (AArisers) once you touch down or use some accelerator

  • it is so nice to see something like this with a happy end!

  • You performed outstanding! Both on the glider to keep cool and on the video editing. Blue Skies

  • Flippin'eck that's windy. Not for me. What software did you use to get rid of the camera shake?

  • you did very welll to keep your cool and keep control. the deshaker was a great idea too. made it very watchable

  • jeess that would frightend the life outa me.

  • when you nearly touched down.you should smaked the A's front colapse or spin the wing.

another thing last week me and my friend were on the cliff he was up there 40km he came down big ears and speed bar to the ground then spin the glider for not dragging him up again.it did work well he just had to run towards the wing.

but hey i wished that you had the landing on the video clip.

you did handle the wing fine i think good on you.

    regards from Malta.

    Hi David,

I was preparing for landing at the movie beginning because the wind was too weak for slope soaring (around 10 km/h). Gusts started right at the moment of touching down. I know the various methods for "killing the wing" from "tips for paragliding pilots" of Jerome, Like Jerome agree there I wouldn't recommend pulling the A's, as this could lead to a sudden wing reopening, especially for low DHV ratted wings (Rookie is such wing).

  • @davidcassar25

You wonder probably why I didn't use big ears and speed bar. The answer is gusts where so violent that my hands where continuously busy with pitch control. Strong wind wasn't much of a problem as gusts where. My plan was to get as much hight as possible and go with the wind past the village behind the slope and get to a very large crop field there ( a lot of space for manouevres).

  • @davidcassar25

In the end wind has calmed down to 10-15 km/h again, I landed immediately at that moment with big ears and stopped flying for the rest o f the day.

  • Ooo salut domn' atreyyu. Interesant zboru banuiesc ca prin Iasi.

  • salut atreyyu. ce soft ai folosit pentru stabilizare. caut de ani de zile ceva care sa functioneze asa bine. multumesc!

  • @openarenavideo

    Virtualdub si filtrul deshaker

  • 1) why didn't he use ears to get lower?

    2) why didn't he use his speed-bar earlier?

    (say at 0:50 !!)

    3) what software did you use for the stabilization? it did an awesome job !!!

  • Hi,

How did you stabilize your video clip ? That software did excellence.

Is that you in this video ?

  • @ha0903431963

    Hi,

Video has been stabilized with Virtualdub video editor.Virtualdub has a filter called "deshaker".

Yeap, it was me in the movie.

  • @atreyyu

Thanks for sharing. I've tried with my video, but the size of processed file is much biger than the original (2.4GB vs 160MB).

    Do you know why ?

  • @ha0903431963

Look at "compression" menu and choose a codec. Divx or Xvid codecs will make your file smaller. Do the same for audio.

  • @atreyyu

Thank a lot. Is a amazing effect

I'm also wandering why didn't you kick the speedbar fully and early?

Using ears make more drag on your wing ?

  • @atreyyu

Try again with "Previous and future frames to fill in borders" + "Soft borders" + " Extrapolate colors into border " options at Pass 2, you will see better result.

  • Is that wind indicator in Km?

  • @pecofly Yes, it's km/h

  • Bun film. Speed si urechi!! Parca il aud si acum pe instructor... :)
