I will miss Dream Theater so much ! it took about 20 years to Roger Waters and David Gilmour to play together again, how much time will it take for JP, JM and MP ??

@EdouardTH To me it seems like the other guys in the band were pretty upset with him leaving, so when he asked to come back, they were too pissed at him to even give him a chance, and to mention him. Hopefully they'll get together soon man.

Big congrats to DT. One of my favorite things about DT is they always are so down to earth and always embrace their roots. Maybe with Portnoy gone John Myung will have more opportunity to talk.... (I'm JOKING of course!!)

Looking forward to the new drummer announcement.... Marco Minnemann, eric campitelli are 2 that I'd love to see.

@joelioes Yep, I'm betting on either Mangini or Bobby Jarzombek. People wishing for Gavin Harrison, Virgil Donati or Thomas Lang are just being unrealistic.

(On a sidenote, Blotted Science, the band Bobby was a part of, are gonna record a new EP in early 2011 with a new drummer... perhaps Bobby isn't available due to certain circumstances? :D)

Awesome speech. I've met John on 3 different occasions and hung out with him and his wife Rena at a Long Island bar where Rena was playing, and John is one of the most humble and friendly guys you could ever meet.

It was bad form not to mention Mike. This is a well deserved honor for DT but a majority of people would never have heard of Dream Theater if it were not for Portnoy's relentless promoting of the band up until the day he left.

A simple mention would have showed class and Mike deserves recognition.

@take2visualmedia I disagree completely. I think most people heard of the band because of the music rather than the efforts of any one member. And why mention MP by name? NO ONE was mentioned by name -- not MP, not Derek, not Kevin, not Charlie, and not Chris -- not even JLB and JR. It was all about "we" and "us," and that includes MP as much as it includes any of the others.  No need to single anyone out by name.
