  • Its 4mb smh

  • this isnt the ice cream sandwich voice to text, the way 4.0 has it it writes as you talk not wait until youre done talking and then put what you said. #fail

  • @edress7140 Nobody said voice to text is from ICS, just the keyboard. And what you're talking about is "voice typing." That feature's not out as a simple APK download from the Market, as it's too involved with the OS.

This is the 4.0 keyboard w. working voice input from 2.2 Froyo or 2.3 Gingerbread. If you were around when this keyboard leaked, you'd know voice input didn't work at all (video before this), which was really annoying. This video shows the developer got voice working.

  • I dislike that the enter-key actually sends the text...

  • You know that you can double tap the space bar to get a full stop?

  • Have tried this keyboard in my Desire running Android 2.3.3 (original version from HTC).

It doesn't work. The keyboard doesn't show up as an electable option.

    To bad. It looks cool.

  • Who here enjoys talking to their phones to send a text message

  • @DhatKidRiteDer There are occasions where it's very handy, I for one use it to keep up with a group convo on a social network while gaming or I happen to be working with my hands (hobby, repair job, cooking/grilling, etc.)

I doubt that many people use it as their default input mode but its nice to know that it works well when needed, specially for those that enjoy and are good at multitasking.

  • Changing input language is now a pain. it used to be just a swipe on the space bar, now it's a tap and hold, scroll to selection, then tap again.

  • The voice input isn't the same as the ICS voice input.

  • Wow. You type fast like that. I just put it on my Samsung Galaxy Note. Thanks. Good video.

  • Voice input isn't there. I even tried changing the language to US English. Uninstall. Back to swift key

  • I don't think I'll ever switch from my stock Swype input on my Atrix. I really like the look of this and some of the other keyboards, but nothing has matched the ease of Swype.

  • @SmartKeitai It's the one from johntami alright - that's how I got to this video, in fact (video preview in Market), and I know it had issues (lots of updates lately). Yelling at it doesn't do anything, neither (figured volume might be the issue) : tinyurl dot com slash c6vf4ue... it's a imageshack...

  • Voice Input doesn't work - the microphone appears there, but all I can do is press "Cancel", since it doesn't do anything. HTC Desire running MIUI w/ CPU overclocked at 1113 MHz. Don't tell me I need 2 GHz or another ROM...

  • @Formhault Are you sure you downloaded the right one? There are at least three Ice Cream Sandwich keyboards in the Android Market. The one demoed here with working Voice Input is from johntanmi. The initial version had issues with voice, but v1.0.4 and up has been working fine. I've tested it on devices from Samsung, HTC and Motorola, so not sure what's going on with your desire. Maybe you can contact johntanmi and see if he can find a fix.

  • Wish it was taller.

  • holy shit, you type fast!

  • @lordedvard8 He types kinda slow. . .

  • IMHO, the predictive text feels more natural and smooth.

  • How did you get a big area for the typed message to go into? Mine is only 1 line long when I use Android SMS.

  • Very nice

  • slideitkeyboard ftw!

  • @buktomsin ha, I know of slideit, but what makes it better than Swype or TouchPal?

  • Once installed on your how do u run it!

  • @Deecasanova Once you install through the market, you will need to activate the keyboard through the settings menu (under language/keyboard). After that, long-press on any text entry field (like in a text or email) and select the ICS keyboard. Then have fun.

  • @wtfpwno0b Yes, it should be fine. I had access to both Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich keyboards on the Nexus S. It doesn't replace the stock keyboard.

  • I prefer SwiftKey, which I am using right now.

  • @SounderBruce I like that one, too. I switch between SwiftKey, TouchPal and Swype. This one had a good first impression on me. I'll have to see if that lasts...

  • nice , but i love touchpal keyboard :D

  • @balmu029 That's a nice keyboard indeed...
