perfect setting for a global warming event. the biggest crime of humanity is having Spinal Tap on the Live Earth bill and NOT having them perform in Antarctica. someone seriously dropped the ball there.....
Really, I would pay money to listen to you guys! Even if you were bad I would pay money just because you're all research scientists...in Antarctica! But even if you weren't that I would still love to see you guys perform simply because you're good :)
That's so impressive, you guys are very tough, mentally & physically, i would love love to go there & work, but then again, i don't deserve it & definitely have'nt got the balls!!!!. Love this so & clip so much. You should do another one
Hi everyone you might notice the opening credit - recorded for Live Earth. To find out more about Nunatak check out British Antarctic Survey's website. URL is on the clip. Follow links to press releases for background biogs and more.
man, they really have the antarctica thing going for them, dont they? i guess now that they are reknowned for that, now other stars will just have to sing in antarctica. Maybe the started a new trend, no? Anyways, you guys are pretty good, and this was a genius way to put yourself out there. good job, smart people.
This band is so fake theres no way that guy can play the guitar in those glove i am not saying that they sound bad but thats not a real live preformance
un-effing-believable! I am blown away that they could keep their instruments in tune, much less put together such a fine sound...definitely the winners of all in my Live Earth book!
I really enjoyed your music. Ya'll are the only ones I wanted to listen to again. Your in a magical place making good music. I cant wait to hear/see more from you.
Nice work lads, nice of you guys to form a tribute band to Z or Dead!
Hugz and kizzes (they made me do that) from everyone at Halley (we've just watched both performances on the big screen) and we give you 8.9 out of -50 (PROPER NUMBERS).
By the way, Matt you must've been hot in that hat?! (see we can rhyme too)
Thanks everyone for your comments - Nunatak appreciate them. Their line up is: Matt Balmer, physics engineer on vocals and guitar; Tris Thorne, communications engineer on fiddle; Ali Massey, marine biologist on sax; Roger Stilwell, polar guide on bass guitar and Rob Webster, meteorologist on drums. LC
my favorite Live Earth performances: Nunatak, Bon Jovi, Crowded House, Snow Patrol (hehe, really though), and Black-Eyed Peas. You guys (that includes you, Ali) ROCK!! Keep up all at good work you do. You walk the walk and are absolutely inspirational.
Hello from McMurdo Station! You guys rock! Wish our players could have been a part of it, but you guys definitely did an amazing job representing the 7th, and I might add, coolest continent. Great songs and lyrics. Did the instruments stay in tune in the cold? We had two bands playing at our Independence Day party the night before Live Earth began. Wishing you well over at Rothera!
u guys rock! almost has much has duran duran lol and thats sayin somthin ^.^ whos the lead singer cause in all the videos he looks like hes freezing well at least the penguins get some entertainment heh...i apperciate all the stuff ur doing for the earth and im sure everyone dose so yea im gonna start a nunatak fan club!! if there isent one already.that is...u guys are one of the few brittish bands i like...ur special like that good job i hope i get to see u in concert one day
guys, this is awesome, i never would have thought that there would be a concert IN ANTARCTICA! seriously, after this, you guys are going to blow up and i'll be like "yeah i saw them play....in antarctica"
Thanks everyone for all your comments - Nunatak will enjoy reading them. The songs were recorded a couple of weeks ago for Live Earth. There's a couple of hours good light at Rothera on the Antarctic Peninsula... dark at British Antarctic Survey's Halley Station though. ... and pitch black at South Pole.
So your station was on the Antarctic peninsula, right. That explains some of the sunlight. By the way, I liked that Jay Leno bit you picked as a favorite. X-D
hey you guys rock and i love your sincerity keep up the good work yeah? you guys were the highlight of the show and the best imho. you were the only ones that deserved to be on that hypocritical and poltical flop show
I can't describe in words how much you guys rock, and your importance for the whole Live Earth event but also the climate problem itself. You must've got stiff fingers afterwards hehe.
You were the best of them all IMO, before AFI's speech and Hypocrite-Madonna and her song "hey you"
You are all amazing. Live Earth exceeded my expectations because of all of you, and were by far the best bit. I only wish I had caught more than the last fifteen seconds when they played it on television. Thanks for putting it up on the internet. Blew me and so many others away. Keep on being brilliant in all your areas of expertise.
Thank you guys for making 'LIVE EARTH' a trully global event...your performance brought me to tears...receive my congratulations all the way from Puerto Rico ;)
Yes! Finally! The videos are out for everyone to enjoy! You guys rocked, the best artist at Live Earth! You're gonna be famous. ;-) Enjoy your peace and silence for now....
I got such a kick of delight out of hearing about your performance, and even more when a friend linked me to this video. Congratulations on joining the movement!

The lead singer sounds awfully good for singing into an unplugged microphone... Ditto for the guitars.

Of course it's live. Sound travels further in Antarctica than anywhere else on Earth (you can hear a conversation from 3 miles away).
Great music, love it!

I signed up for account just to place a comment on your video.
Some may think this moment for your band may be fleeting. I firmly believe you will not be forgotten.
Stay together as a band, record and release an album - offer a percentage of sales towards combating global warming.
Seize the opportunity and stay loyal to each other as a band. There is no "I" in team.
In closing, I truly enjoyed your music and I commend you on your sacrifice on the vital research you are conducting.
