I drove over 100 miles one day going to a place I didn't really want to go... I listened to this song the entire way...just kept hitting replay...I love the Loose ends...different voices and soulful sounds!
indeed this is a classic!!! and all the people who posted a commnt on this i feel a instant connection with you cuz dis is what real music is, and it takes me back to wen my mom was still here and life was graaaaand!!!
Hi everyone! I don't know why but this song stops me from growing up! I listen and I'm 16 again! I had a very innocent childhood. I grew up with people who were kind to me. Listening to this song makes you and me connected in a way...Doom..Vic...hold on peeps...ur dreams will come:-)
I have this song on cassette, in Brooklyn. I have played this anytime I feel doubtful of my purpose. Life is hard, and we all need something to remind of we are destined for greatnesss. So as I hold tight, you do the same. We have to be alive for our time to come around. Peace!
still to this very day theres a song on this album that makes me cry everytime i hear it ! it reminds me of my first true love ! SHE WAS GREAT ! and LOOSE ENDS ARE THE BEST ! thanks for postin this
Oh my god, what can i say about british funk/soul, it is music at it's best. I love this group along with Soul II Soul. They should reunite and tour together i would be definately be at this concert if they come to NYC. THANKS FOR SHARING. JUST SIMPLY LOVE IT!!!
I could careless who is considered the best Soul to Soul or Loose Ends. I am just happy both groups gave us such memorable music to listen to. When I consider what music has become today, I don't know what I would do without groups like them both. Neither group will be old or outdated in my opinion, much less duplicated.
I can remember countless times playing this song back in the day and it always got me through. If radio played songs like this today it might actually be worth turning on.BIg Up to Carl Mac and the Loose Ends Massive you rule!!!
@jonesdk2011 "put it right" some try but they only find a new sad story! I was able to ask Carl Mac Himself and he gave me the lyrics...!! So very cool to have him respond to me also. Also gotta chance to chat with Jane Eugene!!
Loose Ends never put out a bad product. Just one of he tightest groups ever. Love this post as with all their productions. If they had originated from the USA they would have been more celebrated. Underated but greatly appreciated. McCintosh's vocals gave them a distinct sound. God bless the UK for the sound and for this all time great R&B group.
This group's beat were superior to Soul II To Soul(i think soul to sould only had 2 hits but they were good hits). Loose Ends had an unique deep soul gift and their cuts were very rich and timing. Too bad they broke up and didn't continue to make cuts in the 90's because they had the vocals and music arrangments to dominate the 90's with funky hits.
@Deliseo44 i beg to differ. Soul II Soul reached a higher level and they had more than 2 hits. Did u forget about "Jazzie's Groove," and "Get a Life?" They had a lot of other good tracks that were not released as singles. This particular song here is patterned after "Keep On Movin" lol. But I luv both groups
Yes this is real music, I remember I met that person, spent time with that person, and the for whatever reason, lost that person, But this does ease the pain , not every 1 knows what the think they do,. so please all u brothers and sisters stay real, I know theres not many out there.. u know whom u r!!!!!!!!!!excellant tune!!!!
This is my favorite song from their last album/CD LOOK HOW LONG. "Hold Tight" should have been released as a single, and should have been nominated for SONG OF THE YEAR. This is LOOSE ENDS at their very best ! A true classic !
My number 1 group of all time. Very talented and inspirational! Great music last forever. @ Doom City they've brought me through some tuff times as well! Love ya Loose Ends and God Bless ya!
But, we should give it thumbs up, althought the former groups member are not all together!! But still its a nice album(CD)...i'd have to rank this amost the one of their best ever made!!!
thanx for posting not heard this version before now, same rhythm pattern as Love Controversy Pt.1? though as i type, i've just found this on amazon AMAZIN!!!!
You know something...I feel ya, cause "Keep on Movin" by Soul II Soul was my inspirational muse when I had those thoughts back in '89. Thanks for sharing that
@DoomCity202 Damn, that makes you think.....you know, I think we all have that song thats in line with us over coming hardship. The song "Sometimes" by Bilal kept me from doing something to somebody after getting used really badly in about 2000 - 2001. So yeah, we all got a song that kept us from going over.
@DoomCity202 i was standing alone in a mirror in a small studio in los angeles near the airport, i was cussing myself out when i could've been scratching my head.
Interesting difference in sound & vocals in this track. Do the former members Jane Eugene & Steve Nichol appear on this album? My theory would suggest that it was made either; during, before or after they departed company. I'm unable to find this album anywhere.
6 months ago LOL ! I forgot to correct myself as it was my mistake I had it all along stuffed away somewhere. I just couldn't be bothered to look for it.
Yes georgiacopycat it was recorded in 1990 vocalists, were Linda Carriere singer, song writer & opening act for many artists. Sunay Suleyman, Christine Levin, Trisha Lewin & front man Carl McIntosh =)
I like the original. 5*
