  • LEGOLAS!

  • It looks like his baton is floating!

  • What a beautiful man. What passion

  • You're baton technique is not good. You hold the baton like a chop stick,

it must be firm in hand, pointed straight out as an extension of the arm.

You also have a problem with dragging it as you give your 3rd beat.

    Not very good my friend.

    good tone

i don't like your tempi during the bridge sections.

but eh. the reason your'e bassoons don't come in on time at 5:55 is a primary example of why your conducting is not very clear without better use of the baton.

    Absoulute beautiful Orchestra though.

  • whats the conductors name and orchestra please?

  • It is a live rehearsal, the trombones didn´t come in at 0:50 and he noticed!!!!!

  • It is a live rehearsal, the trumpets didn´t come in at 0:50 and he noticed!!!!!

  • @lmaraya I meant trombones!!!!!

  • you defently didn't understand the theme. i think the fracing is great the lines are big, but think as someone in the orchestra who watch at you....

    what are you doing?

  • You breathe very loudly. A friend's conductor does the same thing. They say it makes them all synchronize to each other better. If that's what you do then it seems to be a nice strategy, but it still takes us viewers from the music slightly.

  • 2:05, 5:15

You can see the bow of a violin if you are not blind.

  • he was conducting in front of the stereo he did not show the orchestra playing.

  • 2:29

    CHICKEN.

    wtf??

  • this made me lol so hard

  • i think its "świetnie" in polish language...

  • Yes it is:D

  • He was conducting in front of the stereo did not show the orchestra he was conducting.Just showing how he conduct in front of the camera

  • he is speaking russian

  •   

  • i think its fantastic conducting ^.^

  • legitimate... listen to the damn orchestra.

  • Hey give some slack, he was just warming the orchestra up until the until the Maestro arrive, "so he could get some time and his credits", "though i still don't get the radio in the background in the first 24 measures. It's strange musicians would be walking on during the 4th movement, "hum"

  • Sehr schön, sehr gefühlvoll!

  • 2:05-2:13 you can see periodically the bow of a violin pop into frame...legitimate! :P not that i really care lol beautiful music...lol

  • There's tons of minor blunders here that wouldn't cut it for a recording. Jesus. Some of you are just pissed that the guy has very good control of the orchestra for the first rehearsal.

  • Why would this be fake? I mean seriously, what kind of loser would fake himself conducting an orchestra. There's no social status gain there. In fact I assert that anybody who fakes conducting an orchestra has got to be one of the most trule pathetic creatures ever, terminally pathetic in fact, so pathetic that they should remove themselves from the species. In conclusion, it is statistically unlikey that this guy is that pathetic, we're talking 99th percentile pathetic, the video is legitimate.

  • is he sick or something?

  • And finally, to prokhorprotasov: You write so many points, yet none of them make much sense. ad 1 - You probably mean the tips of the bows visible, which explicitly contradicts point 3. As to points 4 & 5, I can only say with much regret, that as for someone signing himself as a conductor, You have surprisingly shallow knowledge of the ways of conducting. Did You ever see Furtwängler, for example? There are many videos of him conducting here. A good lecture.

  • Now, some more specific answers:

to Cellorubik: this is exactly what sometimes happens during the rehearsals

to mrtyles: there's still music there, perhaps Your sound level int Your speakers/headphones is too low.

to Bereyoga: I'm not 100% sure, but if I recall well, the sound was recorded separately. Nothing so non-standard!

to Bereyoga and some others: if You can find this exact recording issued on CD, I will pay You 1,000$ for every minute of it ;)

  • Well, I think I owe some answers to all of You YouTubers. First of all, yes, this recording is genuine. Some of You claim that there's no orchestra, or that the recording suffers because of lack of it. Well, I might only say that this video was chosen precisely because of not having any members of orchestra visible (I personally wouldn't feel comfortably finding myself on some other video). But, as javajavadk noted, You still can see the tips of bows (viola bows, more specifically).

  • Why can we see "the tips of bows (viola bows, more specifically)" at 5:17-5:20, when there is only tam-tam snd then tomboni, but not archi are playing? )))

After all, there is no orchestra whatever you say. Or the orchestra is really far from you. You're giving auftakt to violins and cellos, but there are nobody to yours left and right! ))

Ну и раз Вы говорите по-русски, то все-таки, скажите, Вы что, пародировали Курентзиса???

  • part radio it seems, part college orchestra, why didn't you just show the whole stage real video style

  • ¿dónde están los músicos?

Muy buen sonido con respecto a la ubicación de la cámara...

Yo también dirijo los CD's de Karajan, jeje.

  • who is that?

  • why does he continue to conduct when there's no music?

  • this is obviously a lie

  • agree

  • It should be noted orchestras are required to be seated,(except in unusual pieces) before the music starts, looks like hootenany now.

  • At about the 2 minute mark look down at the lower right of the frame, you will see the bowing of someone playing (I assume) violin since thats who sits at the front of an orchestra.

  • If it tis real, it is rehearsal, looks a bit like a competition, incomplete video is annoying, if you are trying to give a insight into this, a lecture would be a more value-able vehicle to show your thoughts on the music. and wouldn't leave us thinking your conducting a radio.

  • @prokhorprotasov -facepalm-

  • I prefer the similar finale of the Mahler's 9, this is very tragic and hopeless, the mahler's 9 and Tchaikovksy's 6 are very similar, I have a question, Has Tchaikovsky any "symphony nº7 in Eb major? I have heard something of his 3rd piano concerto(excellent!) and this, but years ago I was near to listen the symhpony, but when It began, I couldn't continue listening, I had to go. Someone know something? Thanks

  • it's like he's dancing!!! =D

  • God...this is beautiful.

  • why all conductors have to act like this?

    the orchstra is awesome.

  • Perhaps the most emotionally potent and intense work in any art form...

  • Bravo! n__n

  • I am a composer. I consider this the greatest Romantic symphony ever written. Chris Gorman

  • Me too and me too.

  • Me three and me three.

  • Me four and me four.

  • Questo brano triste tchaikovsky è quello che

mi a colpito di più, è immenso e divino, eccezionale, non trovo parole fantastico,

    Grazie del video.

  • Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky-HE IS A REAL MUSIC PROPHET - AND THEN THE STORM BREAKS OUT.!!! A GIGANTIC DUEL BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH BEGINS.!

GOD's STORMS!! Age 6 and you unknown!!! listen and feel !! who is it !!! look at my page!!

  • Haha at 2:29 it sounds like he's saying "Kick it!"

  • LA PATETICA, qui c'è la mano di DIO++++++++++

  • What a conductor... he's good, he feels the music, just like he should, and he loves it, which is a bonus that comes with good conductors. He has a great orchestra under his command as well

  • Very very beautifull. But my favorite for this symphonie is Seiji Osawa with the Orchestre de Paris

  • This movement right here is the first piece of classical music that I really felt a strong connection to.

  • super :)

  • As long as he can interprete this faithfully as Tchaikovsky has written, i don't mind the body movements, necessary or not. Feel the music not how he moves/contorts his body. Such superficial comments points to your immusicality (if there's such a word). Of course that's your opinion BUT you're the moron not him. My opinion of you of course.

  • Beautiful symphonie this is one of the symphonie that Tchaikowsky led out of all his heart

  • Yes, and the conductor really cares about it too. I think that's why he moves the way he does. It really matters to me. I've known this music all my life (I'm in my fifties) and I've rarely heard anything quite like this. Brilliant. Just Brilliant!!!!
