  • I've been a manager there since 2005, and my lungs are just fine. I'm almost certain that the creators of this video aren't exactly our target consumer anyways. Bath & Body works has a distinct smell, so do cologne boutiques. Why single out A&F? Because you're too fat to fit our clothes, or just can't afford it? Not our fault. Get a life, SHOP ONLINE and stop your bitching.... Oh and BTW. This video was made in 2010, 2 years later WE ARE STILL SPRAYING OUR STORE.... SO FAIL ;-)

  • uhmm this is absolutely Bullshit.

i work at Abercrombie and the oder isnt that bad. and there are no chemicals in the cologne that they spray.

  • LOL WTF. If you don't like the smell, don't go in the fucking store. What do you when you go into a fragrance store? Write a letter to the CEO? LMFAO. This is retarded, you green teens need a fucking life. There are bigger things people need to worry about.

  • What you said at the beginning and unwanted smell inside and out of the store..... Have you seen visual adverts..... well hears an example of a scented advert, its the same thing. Guess what when you smell that smell you think of that shop and guess what they've done a good job at it.

  • You are all retarded MOST people who shop there like the smell and those who don't can shop online.... jus cuz you don't like it and can't afford it does not mean others feel the same way now go shop st the gap u retards

  • its not invading your personal space if you go into the damn store by yourself

  • I like the concern but you need more scientific backup and lawful action if you want anything done.

  • You guys are fucking stupid, no one gives a fuck if you have a problem with the cologne.

  • SOLUTION: SHOP ONLINE! Crisis Averted!

  • It's very clear, if you don't like the smell of FIERCE then just don't go to the store...

  • Fierce was the number one selling fragrance in the world last year. Spraying the fragrance in the store is a marketing technique and obviously lured you ignorant people in as well. No ones telling you to go in the stores if you dont like it dont go in. The company isnt losing any money if you dont were actually up in business. The only people that have a problem with it are people who cant afford the clothing or some other stupid reason. Ive worked for the company almost 2 years and im just fine

  • Just to let you know, What you say will do nothing. If you understood marketing and retail, You would understand what Fierce and any fragrance for that matter is doing. Fierce is very popular and is not THAT overwhelming. HUGE amounts of people buy it and they make millions and millions off of it every year. If you can't stand it, don't go in their. Problem solved!

  • good for you guys for standing up for your beliefs!

  • dont spray us? LOL u guys make it sound like they are running up to you and spraying you with FIERCE

  • If Fierce really contained those chemicals, then the packaging would have to have health warning labels placed on them by law of the state of California. Teens Going Green is just another organization that has ties to the Environmental Defense Fund which seeks to destroy capitalism and bring America closer towards a socialist society. Obama would be very proud of you guys! This video makes me want to go buy another bottle of Fierce right now.

  • 0:10 seconds in and you've already got a typo? Good job guys.

  • @tiggerintraining which word?

  • @tiggerintraining thanks! I have no idea how to fix it

  • now you should try to get to the bottom of why hollister stores never turn on there lights....

  • nope.love fierce

  • The design of this video is horrid, not to mention the message it actually contains.

Now a days everything can give you cancer so maybe if you have a problem with it you should just stay away from the mall. i have been to many malls and the scent usually doesn't stray far from the store. Exceptions can be the mall's design in relation to the store generating winds that spread the smell, but that's not really something A&F has control over.

So please... Don't spray us... With your video.

  • bwahahaha, you guys are out of control. It's a sales tactic and it's not gong to change. I have worked there for 3 years and I am personally & physically healthy. Goons.

  • I read about you cause in an online newspaper article. Good luck living in the modern world if you're concerned about phthalates and carcinogens.

  • You guys are so efin stupid, cancer really? Dumbasses

  • That was good! Did Mr. Mike Jeffries reply yet?

  • @flyingpilot97 he is never going to reply, hahahaha

  • get over yourselves

  • and not to mention how ORIGINAL they are attacking A&F.. I mean, come on.... way to join the bandwagon. HATERS GON HATE.

  • I should also mention that sales of FIERCE last year reached about $90 Million... The most profitable of ANY fragrance worldwide... Clearly, most people are not as offended by it as you people are.

  • When my teenage kids first asked for Abercrombie I gave them gift certificates. After seeing the aggressive marketing and that perfume is part of it, I refuse to spend any money there. I hate that perfume and the way it wafts out at the mall. Thanks for standing up for the rest of us who don't put up with this corporate brainwashing bs like the malls do. Money talks, but money should listen once in a while. They end up alienating a lot of people.

  • This is ridiculous , you guys are STUPID ,

  • In Fact, The product deployed by these machines contain air treatment agents which provide the equivalent of 1 air change per hour to the coverage area, and are certified HYPOALLERGENIC. This system is also used in various schools, and even hospitals to IMPROVE air quality, and although the scent may not be the same or as strong, it is still completely SAFE. I suggest you do a bit more research the next time you decide to make a idea, because you have clearly NO IDEA what your talking about.

  • @michaelmesbah

Wow, I think you need to lighten up. These kids are right on. I hate the message this store gives off and that includes their invasion of my olfactory space. Corporate america needs to green up and listen to these kids.

  • @waka606 I think you need to lighten up. You may hate the message this store gives off, but most people do not. You can try to argue that, but its the most popular brand in existence today. You have some serious issues if you are being "invaded" as you walk past one of these stores. Apparently you have nothing better to do than criticize. There is nothing "non-green" about what A&F is doing... they are only making the air CLEANER with this HYPOALLERGENIC product. Wise up.

  • THIRD (And most important!) I would like to tell you that the automatic spritzing machines located within most stores DO NOT ACTUALLY SPRAY FIERCE. The machines, manufactured by a Milwaukee, WI company (Which I will not name) use a special fluid MADE TO SMELL IDENTICAL TO FIERCE (manufactured by the same company) which, when deployed, DOES NOT AFFECT THE OLFACTORY (your nose and respiratory system). (Continued...)

  • The "study" reveals that ailments occurred within ANIMAL test subjects when individual ingredients found in the fragrance were INJECTED or inserted via IN VITRO tests at HIGH DOSES. In addition, many aliments, specifically carcinogenic, potentially produced were found to be NON-HUMAN.

I strongly encourage viewers of this video to take a look at this "study"

    cosmeticsdatabase.(com)/product/302807/Abercrombie_%26_Fitch_Fierce_Cologne_%28w%3B%3B_test_results%29/

    (Continued...)

  • The "study" does not confirm that any ingredients used in FIERCE can actually cause cancer with normal HUMAN use. These ingredients are no different from those being used in thousands of other fragrances, and in the "study" which you have cited, show no DIRECT link to any illness or ailment when used properly. . (Continued...)

  • Secondly, your research on the health and safety issues related to FIERCE are very vague and twisted to suit your needs. I would like to point out that the Environmental Working Group is not a government agency, nor is it directly supported by the government in any way.

This was NOT a study on FIERCE....In fact, it was not a study at all. It was a compilation of data on ingredients used in FIERCE, based on the ingredients list located on the back of the box. (Continued...)

  • The scent is BARLEY noticeable within any may or shopping venue, and can only be smelled within an average area of 50-80 feet around the storefront. (If the store is up-stairs, you my smell it on lower levels.) Also, there are NO automatic spritzing units located on the exterior of any store. Thats a completely MADE UP fact. The closest units to the doors are located in the SEOND HALF of the front room. (Partitioned by a beam in the celling) (Continued...)

  • This is pretty ridiculous, and not very well thought out or researched.

FIRST OFF... Common sense says, if you don't like something, STAY AWAY FROM IT. It is obvious that this group of people dislike A&F, which is fine, however they are taking it to an unnecessary level by exaggerating the effects the store experience has on people. (Continued...)

  • thank you so much for taking action! i hate the nauseating, allergic feeling i get when i walk into a mall that has abercrombie and fitch! we need to make them more worried about their customers health, and not only about their profits and "instore experience"

  • @firtch0304 immediate actions could be to stop the two sprayers on the outside, and post mandatory warning labels so that people who enter the store know what they are being exposed to. One main problem with this immediate solution is that this does not stop the harm done to the employees!

  • @boss7fan there are no automatic spritzers on the outside of the store moron. Do your research before you post ignorant comments. There are only two in the last two rooms. And, secondly, the employees ( MY COWORKERS, AND I) are peachy fucking keen.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT YOUR FRAGRANCE SHIT.

seriously, if this is such a problem, just stop breathing, k?

  • Don't come into my store with negative comments, and cameras in our faces ever again. thanks. btw, i will sprtiz twice as much now. good day.

  • Comment removed

  • instead of asking him to stop spraying it why dont you just tell him to keep the doors of the store closed so that the smell doesnt leave the store.

  • @fitch0304 That's a really good point. What we found out was that on all of the stores, in addition to the ventilation inside the stores, there are two sprayers on the outside of the stores. Although our ultimate goal is to stop the spraying completely,

  • I'm not exactly a huge fan of the Fierce fragrance, nor am I a fan of ANF anymore per se, besides their old clothing but that's a different story.

I think this video is ridiculous. Cancer is defined by "uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body." With this definition there are MANY ways one can "link" a chemical to cancer however, to say that you (everyone?) is being adversely affected is insane when you do not have to shop in-store. It doesn't "adversely" affect passerbys either.

  • GAY

  • You guys are so correct on this!!!

  • I won't go anywhere near this store because the odor is nauseating. Thank you for this letter!

  • @keyboys there's a distinctive smell everywhere you go , so if you dont like the "oddor " just dont go there again or why dont you use a face mask?

  • totally agree
