I love Kayla. I went to high school with her and she was such a sweet girl. It was never a big deal that she didn't have hair and I don't think anyone even really noticed because we knew her as she was. Go Kayla!

She is lovely and will hopefully be able to increase acceptance of baldness in women. I, like her, most often choose to NOT wear a wig, and have Alopecia Universalis so not a single hair on my head (or a single eyelash). You rock, Kayla!

I am so proud of her for the confidence she exudes about her baldness. As a woman bald by choice, hair is over-rated, period. Hair does not make the man or the woman and nobody loves you more because you have long flowing tresses. Just ask any Hollywood beauty. I predict hair will soon become a thing of the past for all the brave women of the world. If you're thinking about it for whatever reason - just do it.

@ruthieworld mine fell out when I was almost 17- tough time- and i started going without wigs within two years. I wear wigs ONLY when the mood strikes lol, or if its real cold. they are fun once i a while but I am so comfortable and confident without hair, People are so cool about it too :)

u deal with it. be proud & move on best u can. being bold shouldnt deter u from being your best. alot of it is society norms and perhaps more so in the white community. black women battled this stigma decades ago and still battling the notion that hair makes a woman. but, black women wear the bald style by choice & some because of an illness. its not an issue as much but it does still attract stupid comments.
