  • should have taken the 2 days work and wait and painted the firewall while u had that thing out. That kills it

  • Longbed=FAIL

  • wow your shit must be slow check out Houston performance trucks well show u how its done bby ;)))

  • sleeper

  • I love this song!

  • @drums4life555

Even though he could tell you, notice the header fabbed for the drivers side has a pipe running under the motor to the passengers side fabbed header that also serves as the Turbo inlet, therefore, both sides are contributing 100% to the Turbo, and a single exhaust is ran as the "dump tube/pipe"

  • I HATE 009 SOUND SYSTEM!!!!

  • wait, are you only powering the turbo with 4 cylinders instead of 8? isn't that horribly inefficient?

  • @chevymike1991xx & SUPERMAN768284 thanks guys ima get started on it my friend made me a bet that his import will beat my truck when i drop a ls1 motor hahaha he made me laugh

  • Hey bud i know its a couple years later, you still got the truck? I am picking myself up a 1992 2500 with the 350. Im looking to do a 383 stroker swap and adding a custom turbo on it. I like your vid and it doesn't look too hard but a lot of fabbing. How many fab hours did you put in for that, not counting the fucked up ones lol The truck im getting is a 92, has 238kms, mint no rust, 4x4 trailor toe 3rd owner really nice truck. going to lift it up 6 to 9 inches and have some fun need a turbo :)

  • how hard was the swap?

  • once again, fuck this song

  • Respect for truck but the song is the AIDS of YouTube.

  • hey i got a question i got a 1990 gmc sierra 5.7 liter V* you think i can put in a LS1 engine in it? and If so what do i need to do?

  • @Theoriginalluis35 doing the same swap to my 89 sierra k1500,my only problem has been $ and time, my 700r4 will bolt right to an ls1 engine mounts are in the same location using the ls1 harness and keeping my factory guages, you can either spice the facory harnesses together or order a kit from an aftermarket company, alot of prepwork to do as well, like build a trany, the 700 wont hold up, slapper bars, stronger u joints/driveshaft,my main problem is figuring the a/c,since i want to keep it

  • @Theoriginalluis35 when you get the motor you will also need the engine wiring, ECM and other sensors that go with the motor. This is just me but I would use a better spark plug with the motor if your not already using a platnium plug

  • I want to do that to my 91 silverado how much $ did u spend and is it better then rebuilding the 350? Comment

  • @daltep214 depends on what u want since youre 350 was around 250hp 300lbf-ft 9.8;1 compression and most were only a 2 bolt main factory sometimes a 4,an ls1 is around 350hp and 365lbf-ft and 10.25;1 compression and is a 6 bolt main, also its lighter you can build a great engine either way, just depends on what you want rebuilding a 350 is around $1500, you can get a fair milage ls1 for around the same price 30,000 to 150,000miles what ive seen, just look around

  • im puting the same moter in from a 99 gmc in a 65 nova how u get the ecu to run without pulling the whole wire harness?

  • How much did you invest in just the turbo setup?

  • dam its ugly with that long bed

  • Doesnt the stock 5.3 already have over 300 hp?i must finnd one.im in va and lokkikin for one complete with the computer.i got a 95' cheyenne with a bone stock 4.3 im removing.anyone got a 5.3?

  • @rusted70chevy17 5.3 has 315 i believe but the dyno numbers were probably from the rear wheels

  • THE 5.3 IS NOT AN LS1!!

    UGH!!!!

  • @DylonTheGreat521 no shit really? I bet they had no idea until you said something...

  • @coolmaxima your life...your opinion...your comments...keep to yourself.

  • @DylonTheGreat521 if you had taken your own advice we wouldnt be having this convo right now.

  • @coolmaxima dont post ls1 truck as title if its a 5.3. no shit people know the fucking difference you fucking moron. my point is i want to see an ls1 dont mislead me with your video title. then i got smart ass dick heads like you who look for arguments on youtube. stfu dude. im making a point your just being a complete dick. fuck off bud...

  • @DylonTheGreat521 its all based off the same platform. Its a gen 3 small block. If there was an LS1 intake on that engine YOU couldnt tell the diffrence.

  • @coolmaxima lm7 and l59 were iron block 5.3s not all aluminum. 5.7 parts change slightly certain years. same with 5.3, so in essence its important to match some parts with the exact year dumbass. differences included displacement, bore, but same stroke. 5.7 has a higher compression ratio along with diff heads cam and intake. FUCK OFF FAGGOT IM DOING A FUCKING LS1 BUILD RIGHT NOW!!! i think i know my shit so keep your fucking arguments to yourself and FUCK OFF!

  • @DylonTheGreat521 congrats, you can use Wikipedia! I know my shit to dummy, thats why i built this truck.

P.S. In closing I titled this LS1 because it gets more hits then "5.3" or "LM7"

  • @coolmaxima wikipedia?? its called ls1 tech. i have gm how to build gm ls series engines. i've read it all i know my shit and i know a 5.7 is gonna put down more hp and torque than a punk ass 5.3. more c.i. means more hp and torque.

p.s. go fuck yourself fag. do you think your gonna get famous from these hits?!?!? fuck no. i wanted to see an ls1 and i voiced my opinion.

ill make sure i send you a video of my short bed c1500 that will actually hook up with and LS1 that will make real hp!

  • @DylonTheGreat521 god your dumb. Let me guess, your in your early to mid 20's. You went to Wyotech or UTI where they crammed a bunch of shit down your thoat in 10 months and patted you on the back for cutting them a check. Then booted your ass on the street with a "certificate" (basically a receipt for your tuiton) instead of any actual degree. With ideas your gonna be some hotrod builder or make 40/hr as some super tech. In reality you have a huge chip on your shoulder and work at pepboys

  • @coolmaxima first off your not a psychic. im a highly intelligent* college student building and ls1. everything i've learned about the ls1 has been in a 6 month period compared to your however long of not knowing much. i have higher ambitions then a mechanic....hot rods or not i think ill pass being a grease monkey. 40/hr not that much bud. on another not my 383 ls1 on spray in a short bed* silverado will hook up and smash your 5.3, turbo or not. and arent you a little too old to be on youtube?

  • @DylonTheGreat521 Dylon "The Great" thinks he is a smart guy. "Highly intelligent college student", as he so delicately put it. And yet, he managed to butcher most of that excessively long and stupid comment. It seems to me, college student or not, you are more obviously highly full of shit. No one is too old to be on youtube.. Aren't you too stupid and prideful to be on youtube? And we all know you'll be looking up at 40/hr for a long, long time. Student.

  • @RyanH0809 seriously...? What a clown..

  • where did you get your pillar gauges???? lol

  • WHAT SIZE IS THE CROSSOVER PIPE AND THE EXSAUST

  • @youngjune2010 2.5" crossover pipe and a 3" down pipe. Exhaust is 3" all the way out.

  • @GiffinsPerformance ok well i have a chevy 350 vortec with pro comp heads and intake and a 110mm turbo even tho the turbo is big it dosent matter if its 3inch and not 3.5

  • nice turbo setup man. im runnin the same bov in my car lol.noticed u were using the v clamp attachment on ur turbo how do they hold up? i was curious cuz i have a rb20det cressida that im building and having a hard time with my downpipe basically runs straight into my steering rack and was looking at the v clamp as a easier way to make a downpipe but not sure if theyre good or not .any helpful info would be sweet thanks

  • woah woah woah am i seeing this right you traded a good ol 350 for a POS new 5.3? wtf is wrong with you dude? i hope you know a stock 350 no EPA 4 bolt main block is already like 380HP 400FTlbs all motor on gas right?

  • @DRNEGOLICIS Look at 00:44 bro, obviously this one doesnt have 380hp.

  • @TheNeckasaurus i said no epa and the big heads

  • @DRNEGOLICIS my bad

  • @DRNEGOLICIS but still, i dont think those two mods add over 240 hp.

  • @TheNeckasaurus They are not mods they used to come factory that way in heavy duty pick ups and dump trucks and such i know because i have one and it is all stock 1980 chevy c2500 HD 350 4bolt main it has the biggest stock Ported heads they came with the book says 330HP 380FTlbs of torq made from late 1960s i think to 1981 and they are not california legal it has no air injection plugs in the head or EGR ports on the engine a newer 350 fixed up back to this probbably can get close

  • you paid $3700 for a long bed 2wd 89 g mac? please tell me i read something wrong man?! i mean granted you made it nice...for a long bed, but you got raped on the price

  • Some good fab work going on there. Nice job.

  • LOL!! it had one of those JC whitney electric hair dryers for a turbo in the beggining.

  • how much did the turbo set up cost?

  • i wish i had the money to buy that

  • GMC is shivy, which means, its junk!

  • the fuck is the point of swapping in 5.3s ... ppl sometimes are just fucking stupid.. why not a ls7 why not a f1 engine..why stop there...eye rolls.... i bet ppl r gonna flame me without even knowing the background to my comment or who i was talking to

  • whyat made u do that to a long bead so it was a sleeper

  • @ecosby100 i diddnt see a sleeper on that pickup?....

  • impressive custom fabbing, nice job

  • howd the drop in go, what did u do about the motor mounts

  • Why do all that to a LWB???

  • was wondering why only have the turbo mounted onto 1 bank of the engine? why not mate both exhaust sides into a y and mount the turbo on that? seems you would have a quicker spool with more exhaust flow..

  • @northeasteg6

Uhh it is a single turbo with a crossover... It's pretty damn common in terms of Turbo configurations.

  • I just want to know if you can make for me the same

    Manifold turbo and how much....

  • the truck looks nice from the cab to the front the long bed kinda fucks everything up and i think 10k is too much lol

  • in attempt to avoid any assholish remarks...why would you do all that to a long bed?

  • to bad it isnt a short bed

  • Nice fabrication and clean welds however, you should have bought a Syclone.

  • i was blown away until i saw the interior, it's an automatic.....

  • nice but thats shits too long, my homboy shortend one, the bed is as long as the front fender,.....thats what this truck need next :p

  • HAAAA electric turbo SOOOOOOO gay. total fail man.

  • @JumperStardustDE91 I fail to see what part of that video leads you to think its "electric". lol.....

  • Good choice on the LS1, that's the perfect motor to drop in that truck.

  • my dick is as long as that truck.

  • @pickalock865 mines longer, truck gets jealous sometimes.

  • @GiffinsPerformance i dont think its jealousy i think ur truck is laughing at you.aha jk man aswome vid and truck

  • @GiffinsPerformance my dick's 1 1/4 inches :( but 8 inches wide! rlly reminds me of a pizza

  • @pickalock865 your dick mad tiny cuz shit might be as long as the hot wheels version and way to be gay and mention dick on a truck video indication is youre a fag

  • @1sickasscobra98 somebodys jealous

  • @pickalock865 If that were true, um well, Your life would suck

  • SONG??????????

  • wow

  • what size tires?

  • i used a 4l60e out of a 98 1/2 ton i had to used a spacer for the torque converter it simply went into the rear of the crank shaft and i elonganted the holes for the flex plate bolts the wiring was the same for the TCC it works great the only advantage for using the LSX trans in you dont have to modify what i mention above!

    check out my truck !

  • how much u sellin for?

  • Sweet.....I'd like to do this to my 96 Silverado. I wonder if they have to adaptor to adapt my 5 speed manual up to an LS1......

  • Sweet.....I'd like to do this to my 96 Silverado. I wonder if they have to adaptor to adapt my 5 speed manual up to an LS1......

  • song? please............

  • @Malevolenty

    Crash - 12 Stones

  • @revbasher444 nice, thank you

  • Short bed would e mutch betta.

  • it says stock PCM in the descrip, but I spy a megasquirt ecu....

  • those welds look shitty but nice truck

  • LOL

  • Who sings this?

  • Crash by 12 Srones

  • scary....i wanna do this to my 89 gmc now just a 4x4 instead of street rod!

  • shits fresh. whats the name of the song.

  • what kind of tranny you runnin in it? turbo 350?

  • Did you have to change the wiring harness i wanna do something similar.

and what kind of hp are you making?

  • hey m8 wicked as but the exhaust on the right goes 2 the turbo, deos the exhaust on the left of the moter go 2 the turbo cos it deosnt show it, or deos it go under the motor to the turbo.

  • Shit is that old silverado, get a real car, dude. Even being in Brazil I got a much better than you ;)

  • @fabioaro Good for you.... I don't like longbed trucks but I'm not going to tell the guy to get a shortbed truck.... It's his to do whatever he wants with.... So shut up....

  • @TheZappersdoopable who's talking to you? fuck you

  • Shut your bitch ass little YouTube mouth.... I wish I was within arms reach of your teeth.... You wouldn't have them for very long.....

  • @TheZappersdoopable dude, try getting a girl, will ya?

  • Even after all that shit talk I bet it would be the shit out of anything you got.

  • nice montage dude ! but the sound of the truck next time

  • Hey dude i was about to swap my 5.7 out of my 1993 gmc sierra and I was wondering some things: are the motor mounts the same, does the 5.3 bolt up to the 4l60e that was in the truck (im pretty sure it will but i was wantin to make sure), and last, how hard was it to change the computers out of the truck? If you would please reply it would help out alot.

    thanks, WhiteLightningACDC

  • The 5.3 needs adeapter plates to reuse your brackets and mounts from your 5.7. google advance adapters website. They will have what you need. your 4l60 will bolt up..however on older 4l60e's they have a on or off tcc. any trans that has a5.3 in fron tof it has a pwm tcc. So the newer pcm wont properly run the older trans. You wouls have to get a newer 4l60. The wiring was not hard....just time comsuming.

  • There is no type of adapter or wiring or something that I can get to use the old 4l60? One last thing; did you get the wiring out of a newer pickup or did you use the older pickup's wiring, or was it custom made?

  • I also forgot to add, what is the tcc, and what does pwm tcc mean?

    Thanks Again, WhiteLightningACDC

  • @GiffinsPerformance what all do i need to do a basic swap into my truck i have a 1990 chevy 1500 i want to utilize the 700r4 behind it but can i? and like i said what all do i need to do the swap

  • since u swapped the engins wat did you use to run the electronics on the 5.3 im doing the same i have a 99 5.3l and settin it in my 89 chevy. did you have the wireing harness n computer for the engine?

  • about how much can u get the turbo for?

  • luv the front mount.... i was wandering if it cud be fit in there ... i have ac doe but im also gettin a diff inntercooler... nice truck

  • Good photography. Good vid.

  • whats the name of this song

  • Would have been perfect if it were a short bed.

I've got an '89 Silverado with 332,000 miles on the original 350. Burning 20w50 oil, it's very tired, but the body is pretty decent. I'd love to drop a low mileage stock 5.3 in it.

  • Bad Ass truck, sick build, good music, good job!

  • awesome job !! that's one crazy truck !

  • the long bed just ruined it

  • i wish i could do that on my 1997 silverado, what all do you have to change along with the motor?, transmission, guages?

  • wow you guys do really good work

  • Good Looks GMC clean inside and out but should of ben a short bed i just like short beds but still 5*****

  • Lol i like the old engine too

  • Sweet fab job

  • badass, nice job.

  • how long did it take you guys to configure that megasquirt efi? im looking to put it on my 2000 with the 5.7L k2500. i just cant seem to figure out exactly what its meant to do.

  • would it be any faster if it were short ved or just a matter of looks?

  • wow man nice work and nice truck. i have a 05 silverado ss i am working on a sts twin turbo kit hope it comes out good

  • i have an 89' cheyenne and i never thought bout doing this! im saiving money for paint though cause my paint is screwed. so ya but nice man that kick ass.

  • very very good job

i hope i have one like your car i have youkon dinle 2005 i wan make it very fast

    ^_^

  • awesome work, thank you!

  • I just purchased a 1989 GMC Sierra, but have no idea where to start. has the 5.0L V8 option in it.

  • I have a LT-1 in my 91 x-cab

    it's a start,,,

    my truck was also a 305 :-(

  • Oh my god, those custom headers are so fucking awesome. I love custom exhaust work. I go as far as custom-welding up my own slightly baffled mufflers. I just use any outer shell of a can itself and weld in pieces of quarter-inch high grade aluminum, with large alternating holes, maybe 1 to 1 and a half inches each. Then a large high-flow Flowmaster cat and we're good.

  • Dude, I know I have asked you alot of questions and I thank you for your responses. I have another one, I am not a big fan of electronics and I can't find much on the megasquirt box. Edelbrock makes an EFI system named Pro flo XT for LS based engines. I was wondering if this is a similar more user friendly system to use as an EFI controller.

  • I would just stick with the stock PCM. If you want to tune it buy HPTuners or EFILive or something. I love megasquirt, but recently went to a 4L80E Trans, so I sold it and installed the stock engine harness and PCM and tune it via HPTuners. Great software and support!

  • why a turbo and not a supercharger

  • why not man? turbo's make more power. they also get better mpg than a supercharger too!

  • NOT TRUE .. HAA LOL

  • umm you think a supercharged engine gets better gas mileage than a turbocharged one? you are hilarious buddy!

  • what kinda power is it makin with the turbo setup???

  • The first Vortec engine was in 1996

  • 1995.5

  • ugly to long

  • Hater

  • yes i am cuz my truck looks great

  • that statement makes no sense.

  • hahaha. ok. I saw your videos. You have nothing to brag about.

  • nice build and looks great but why a long bed? might just be me but I prefer the short wide

  • New England is not a good place to find a an OBS short bed worthy of a Turbo LS engine. 99% of them are a misfire away from being in a junkyard. I got lucky with this long bed. No rust frame is black and not rusty, brake and fuel lines are not rusted. Just overall a clean truck.

  • I found a good one. A year older than yours with a crate 350. It was pushing a little more than your LS before the turbo. Granted it needed a little work you can still find a pretty good truck in New England if you look enough. Cool video.

  • i got a 95 tahoe with a 5.7l

    wat is that.??anyone

  • L05 350

  • Its just a regular small block with fuel injection instead of a carb.

  • The LS engines are nothing like the old small blocks.

  • 5.7l in the 95 tahoes were not ls engines

  • Yeah no shit. They were L31's

  • @meaningintragedy01 thank god

  • @meaningintragedy01 whats that supposed to mean? ls are incredible platforms for power and reliability

  • @APontiacof455cubes I meant they were better.

  • @meaningintragedy01 right on

  • 350 v8 vortech engine.

  • i noe its a v8 i noe its 350 the thing i was trying to find out is that if its a ls or wat? and nope...its not a vortech

  • what is what?

  • what size downpipe is that

  • 3 inches

  • i was thinking about a 3-1/2 y-ed into 3 in on my 68mm

  • What a difference the right rims make @0:23 !

  • i know right! chnaged the whole look of the truck!

  • iunno where i came up with that lol

knew the 5.3 wasnt an LS1, think i seen someone say it was, and confused me a little

but what about the 5.7's that were in the late 90's silverados? Lt1's?

  • no just 350s

    5.7 ls1s came in f-bodies and vettes

  • a 5.3 is a ls1?

  • No, a 5.3 is an LM7. They also come with an aluminum block which is the LM4.
