I think that is Catherine Morgan who in 1943 married Count Basie. She had previously performed with a vaudeville act known as the Whitman Sisters.

No, it's not Lena Horne. Her name is Winnie Johnson who was featured in a lot of soundies during that period. She was a Cotton Club Dancer along with Lena Horne and the Brown twins Hibby and Vivian.

Haven't seen this since the 1980s. This is one of my favorite Basie tunes featuring Mr. 5x5. Jimmy Rushing is as cool as he wants to be.
