Wolves are endangered animals that are needed to maintain deer and elk populations. I live in Scotland and because there is no natural predator the deer population is going rapidly out of hand and many will die because there won't be enough vegatation to feed them. Wolves are needed and even though I'm only 14 I would love to open a wolf reintroduction center here so deer and wolves are helped in the long run. I love them soo much!!!

Your existence is far more detrimental to nature than some one simply killing a wolf. Your emotional concern for nature can be much more effective if you focus it on the bigger picture. Imagine how many every day things you take part in that wouldn't have been possible without the destruction of nature. If you care, you should spend your resources (free time) more strategically. don't know where you are finding THAT DATA, jimmy, but you are dead wrong. Even the park biologists admit to that. Last year was the first year more elk were killed by wolves than people. The number of cow permits for people in areas outside the park dropped from 2100 to 100. Next year they may not be any. There has been no increase in elk popultions in any area wolves are concentrated. THAT is a FACT.
You need to keep in mind the carnage the wolves cause also. 65% of the elk in yellowsotne are now gone, and predictions are that another 15% will be gone in the next 5 years. Moose numbers have plummeted to the point where the park people won't even talk about them.
There are only around 250-350 elk killed by wolves in Yellowstone compared to the around 22,000 killed by hunters. Also in 2001 the estimated number of elk in Wyoming was an estimated 105,000 and has been over 100,000 since wolves were reintroduced. This means that the population has INCREASED about 35% since wolves arrived. Doesn't sem to be hurting the populatiuon much to me.

i hunt cyoties because there are way to many in tennessee and they destroy the ecolegy if left uncheched. but intentionally hunting an animal that is already endangered and killing them for the strict purpose of there pelts is wrong. These people give a bad name for hunters.
I agree with you=) After making this video I studied more into predator hunting and realised that on occasion it can be necessary to control the numbers sometimes. I agree with you rick, except wolves are not endangered. Go to Canada and Alaska, lots of wolves. What they did was put a bunch of canadian wolves in the middle of cattle country, with the results you would expect, and their are now just about 2000 of them...15 elk per wolf is 30,000 elk killed. Makes it hard to fill the freezer with one when no permits are given to people.
Well seeing as how wolves are hunted and trapped in Canada and Alaska your anlogy doesn't really work. Because I think it's fine to trap and hunt predators in places where they aren't endangered such as Alaska and Canda, (which they already do). I'm talking about places such as Yellowestone where there aren't alot of wolves that I don't like hunting, and they are thinking of making it legal there.
That's fine. If you're talking about the cattle the wolves occasionally kill, well the ranchers are already paid for the cattle they lost and if they find the offending wolf it's shot. If you're tlaking about deer or elk or the like then maybe the human hunting should stop first cause that's what destroy's the most of these creatures, not wolves.
well, not exactly, ranchers are not paid for every cow lost, because many coes are in patures 10 miles across. The other side, the wolf fund ran out of money....tells you somthing, don't it? As far are deer and elk go, we (humans) are paying that penalty already with less permits to hunt. Many communities rely on hunter dollars to boost economys. Keep in mind it is hunter dollars that put the game herds in place like montana where they are today.
Actually wolves aren't scavengers because they hunt for their own food. But this doesn't make them bloodthirsty killers like some say they only do it to survive like we all do. @balto1919 Not all hunters are evil. I have hunter before but the diffrences is i would never harm another hunter. Be it human or animal. What i killed i ate and i live by a strict code of honour if i ever hunt. I did it for food not for fun or because im evil. I think that anyone hunting should live by the code me and my friends share as it is fair and just.

Wolves are endangered animals that are needed to maintain deer and elk populations. I live in Scotland and because there is no natural predator the deer population is going rapidly out of hand and many will die because there won't be enough vegatation to feed them. Wolves are needed and even though I'm only 14 I would love to open a wolf reintroduction center here so deer and wolves are helped in the long run. I love them soo much!!!

Your existence is far more detrimental to nature than some one simply killing a wolf. Your emotional concern for nature can be much more effective if you focus it on the bigger picture. don't know where you are finding THAT DATA, jimmy, but you are dead wrong. Even the park biologists admit to that. Last year was the first year more elk were killed by wolves than people. The number of cow permits for people in areas outside the park dropped from 2100 to 100. Next year they may not be any. There has been no increase in elk popultions in any area wolves are concentrated. THAT is a FACT.

You need to keep in mind the carnage the wolves cause also. 65% of the elk in yellowsotne are now gone, and predictions are that another 15% will be gone in the next 5 years. Moose numbers have plummeted to the point where the park people won't even talk about them.

There are only around 250-350 elk killed by wolves in Yellowstone compared to the around 22,000 killed by hunters. Also in 2001 the estimated number of elk in Wyoming was an estimated 105,000 and has been over 100,000 since wolves were reintroduced. This means that the population has INCREASED about 35% since wolves arrived. Doesn't sem to be hurting the populatiuon much to me.

I agree with you=) After making this video I studied more into predator hunting and realised that on occasion it can be necessary to control the numbers sometimes. But as you said these wolves are endangered and it's for the pelts and to me that is waaay too wrong which is why I try to make vids like this to let ppl know that. Thanks for the comment=)

I agree with you rick, except wolves are not endangered. Go to Canada and Alaska, lots of wolves. What they did was put a bunch of canadian wolves in the middle of cattle country, with the results you would expect, and their are now just about 2000 of them...15 elk per wolf is 30,000 elk killed. Makes it hard to fill the freezer with one when no permits are given to people.

Well seeing as how wolves are hunted and trapped in Canada and Alaska your anlogy doesn't really work. Because I think it's fine to trap and hunt predators in places where they aren't endangered such as Alaska and Canda, (which they already do). I'm talking about places such as Yellowestone where there aren't alot of wolves that I don't like hunting, and they are thinking of making it legal there.

That's fine. If you're talking about the cattle the wolves occasionally kill, well the ranchers are already paid for the cattle they lost and if they find the offending wolf it's shot. If you're tlaking about deer or elk or the like then maybe the human hunting should stop first cause that's what destroy's the most of these creatures, not wolves.

well, not exactly, ranchers are not paid for every cow lost, because many coes are in patures 10 miles across. The other side, the wolf fund ran out of money....tells you somthing, don't it? As far are deer and elk go, we (humans) are paying that penalty already with less permits to hunt. Many communities rely on hunter dollars to boost economys. Keep in mind it is hunter dollars that put the game herds in place like montana where they are today.

having such a BIG problem with them then they can take the time to build fences and all that instead of shooting them on site.Which will only make the species go indangered even faster.My grandpa has a farm and that's what he did right when he got the farm.He built a high fence with bobwire and cement at the body.He's never had a problem with wolves thank's to the fence.only problem he has now is mountain lions.But ya dont see him shooting mountain lions now do you. and Jimdandy dont shoot

Okay first your comments are showing don't worry. lol There are like 5 from you. And about the comment earlier, I love wolves and not too many people can say that they love them more then me. And yes I agree with your comments if we do build a fence instead of shooting then wolves would definetly be stopped and would be able to live which is great:) And yes, I know that they are attacking cattle cause the elk is going down I research this stuuf:) Continued...

((Sorry if this double post first one didnt show to go through)) it might be in some places but not everywhere.And unless hunters stopped hunting for 3 years i highly doubt it's at a Really awesome number right now.And woopty do they killed 90 livestock in 30 days.Livestock easy to get or breed.Wolves almost impossible to breed considering they are wild animals.And if farmers are so worried then they should build high fences with bobwire at the top and cement at the bottom.Cause if they are

(Continued from above) Besides wolves barely kill cattle as it is, the numbers are really low. But my point is, is that a hunter who cannot aford to build a fence should be able to shoot a wolf IF AND ONLY IF it has been caught in the act of killing a cow. Only because I mean let's be fair. It's unfair for hunters and ranchers to be able to shoot wolves willy-nilly with no point that's just sick and wrong. continued...
